Huawei is challenging ASML and the US in Lithography Machine Supremecy

  • Due to the inability to procure advanced wafer fabrication tools from manufacturers in America, Europe, and Japan, China is compelled to create its own fabrication equipment. Huawei is in the process of establishing a substantial research and development (R&D) center in the vicinity of Shanghai. The aim is to create chipmaking tools that can compete with systems engineered by ASML, Canon, and Nikon, as reported by Nikkei. In this video, we will dissect what Huawei’s plan to develop this ambitious project and what implications could it have for ASML and the US. So stay tuned and keep watching.
The real questions are not centered around Huawei’s ability or inability to create its own lithography machines, but rather the timeframe within which it can achieve this and the potential consequences this could have for ASML and the US.
    1. Market Competition: ASML, a leading player in the lithography machine market, could face increased competition. If Huawei’s machines are comparable in quality and more cost-effective, it could potentially disrupt the market share.
    2. Technological Independence: China’s dependence on foreign suppliers for advanced chip-making equipment, particularly from companies in the US and its allies, would decrease. This could alter the dynamics of the global semiconductor industry.
    3. Trade Relations: The success of Huawei’s project could influence trade relations and policies. The US and other countries might reassess their export control policies, especially if they perceive a shift in the balance of power in the semiconductor industry.
    4. Economic Impact: US companies that currently supply chip-making equipment to China might experience a decline in business, which could have broader economic implications.
    5. Innovation Drive: This development could spur further innovation and competition in the field of chip-making technology, pushing companies like ASML and others to invest more in R&D to maintain their competitive edge.
With a substantial R&D investment that accounts for 23.4% of its total revenue, Huawei is well-positioned to successfully launch this new lithography manufacturing venture. This will enable it to become completely self-sufficient in expanding its AI and mobile business, without the looming threat of US sanctions. We will remain vigilant, monitoring this new project, and will provide updates as soon as Huawei releases any new information.
    Thank you for watching!

Watch out, here comes Huawei! This time the company is out for a kill with its very own lithography manufacturing in Shanghai and they are committed to make it their top priority. ASML and the US are feeling the pitch now as Huawei has always been succeeded when they put their heart and soul into a new venture. What do you think about this new lithography manufacturing facility? Do you think Huawei will succeed in making their very own machine? Tell you what you think down in the comment below. Thank you for watching!

ASML and the US can no longer sanction Huawei and others in China any more when the plant is up and running. This will be a game-changer for China in the world high tech dominance.

Man, Huawei is a cool company and they are attracting top talents from all over the world. The US must be extremely very unhappy now.

Shanghai is gonna be the epic center of high tech manufacturing after Shenzhen. Tesla is there too!

Wow, Huawei is really a special company from making 5G, mobile phone, solar systems, EV, and now Lithography machines. I can't find a reason why they can't succeed. Congrats Huawei!

China takes 40% of worldwide chip consumption. With Huawei gets into this lithography machine game, the end game is ASML and the US will be having a big struggle in the world of technology dominance.

When your leader is a PhD in engineering like Xi Jinping, instead of a bunch of argumentative lawyers like USA, your nation goes in the direction of development and building instead of endless political fights and filibustering.

The west has refused to cooperate with China despite China’s general docility.
Western companies, even technology companies, merely rest on their laurels because fundamentally their goals are making money, nothing more.
This is true even for Apple which stopped innovating technically about 3 years ago.

That's what de-risking and de-coupling policies can inevitably lead to with the consequence of technological independence. Forgetting that " Nature abhors vaccum " So China as any other nation could not be stopped in it's natural development counter it's natural nature.😊

This is big news for Huawei and it will certainly change the chip making dynamics in the future. Intel, Qualcomm, and Nvidia must be having nightmares now.

    ASML days are numbered.
Remember when USA sanctioned China's space industry and barred them from joining the International Space Station program, China went into overdrive to develop their own space station. USA ridiculed China affirming China will Never possess the expertise to accomplish such a complex project. Today, China alone has the knowhow and expertise to deploy her own space station, no other nation does. ISS is an international effort of G7 nations and more.
