  • What is the current situation in China regarding lithography machines?
This topic was also suggested by our viewers. It's just that there wasn't a lot of new information before, but now we do!
Combined with some background information I previously collected, though not entirely verifiable, I believe I can do a roundup story for our viewers.

Huh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the oddity of SMIC being able to produce as many 7nm chips as they have. Just the Kirin 9000s alone shouldn't be possible by their reported numbers, but there's also these Ascend 910B chips. The original Ascend 910 chips were made in 2020 and were below the A100 performance. The new 910B is at the A100 chip performance. But they had to be made during the sanctions. How? Where did they come from?

SMIC has been able to do 7nm for at least 2 years on mass, the used ordinary UV machines that they had access and apparently ran the silicon through them multiple passes , the west thought that standard UV machine couldn't go below 14nm but they (Chinese) redesign the masks for multiple passes.

Just like the tunnel boring machine, space station, baidu, and other tech, China will develop Lithography machines in-house with or without the help of other countries.

The will illegally copy as much of ASML and others as they can . They offer ex and current employees double the salary .Why not buy Chinese JSF ? China is good in copying all things . They go to other countries ,offer them cheap loans and whatever they need on infrastructure as long as it's all done by Chinese immigrants and done with a label "made in china" . If that country they went to with offerings becomes dependent thanks to all all the new Chinese immigrants ,it will very soon need money again , they will buy out all locals and with all the immigrants it will slowly become a part of the greater china .Taiwan also . China is like the Borgs from star trek . It assimilates .We are the borg ,resistance is futile .™🕷🕷

Huawei made break through on 5nm ."A posting on Huawei's website claims the Qingyun L540 laptop is "equipped with the Kirin 9006C chip, utilizing a 5nm process technology, eight cores, with a maximum clock speed of up to 3.13 GHz, offering higher performance, lower power consumption, and faster processing speeds.""

Why is Huawei a danger for the USA security ? Huawei chip was made using ASML machine .

Is that possible China upgrade the higher resolution model of ASML machine by exchanging some lower resolution component which built by China own technology ?

There is no Chinese tech ,it's all copy's made by ex employees from the originals . China has very low paid salaries ,except for ex employees from western or other countries . If they go there then they can get double the salary of their current .

yes, most likely, Chinese found A way to upgrade the capability of their existing DUV machine to 7 and even 5 nano meter

Good question as the show end. Possible answer. The SMEE 28nm and maybe even 14nm and possibly more advance DUV/EUV has been delivered to SMIC to do a mass production trial run that is producing the 7nm Huawei Kirin chip and the Huawei AI Ascend chip. China is holding back the news of the SMEE DUV/EU to avoid the backlash from the Americans. The Chinese will installed as many as possible SMEE DUV/EU before releasing the official news in 2024/2025. If this is true, there will be a huge consolidation of the Chinese semiconductor market in 2024/2025. They will turn domestic without reservation. Another piece of rumours that is to be verified by September is the launch of the Huawei Mate 70 series with a 5nm chip. If this happen, this will confirm China already have advance lithography, perhaps an EUV or something close to it. The Chinese are not giving a chance to the Americans to retaliate and destabilise. Possible? IF all the above is true, by 2026 and after, may see the bankruptcy of ASML. They could never stay afloat by fighting on price and losing the Chinese market.

They did also copy the JSF. So anything is possible .
