Tbh this game may have a bunch of things wrong with it. But they really NAILED the bro dynamic these dudes had. I felt close to these guys as i progressed through the story and i visit the game every now and then just to listen to these guys talk, argue, and mess with each other.

i love how the song has so much to do with the actual story of the game "when the night has come and the land is dark" you mean when the actual sun goes away beacuse of the endless nights caused by demons? "and the moon is the only light we see" as in Luna (Luna is moon in spanish) being the oracle, is the light of hope of the people. "and i wont be afraid as long as you stand by me" as in Noctis not losing his mind as long as his friends stand with him on his journey?

This is such a masterpiece game. Although I didn’t like the ending I still can disregard how beautiful the story is. Everything was connected from the beginning and this song is just perfectly matched for the game. It’s almost like they created a game from this song.
You can also translate "noctis" from latine - night and luna is also latine and stands for moon. So its even better "When the night (Noctis) has come and the land is dark, and the moon (Luna) is the only light we see" :)

Honestly I don't know why this game is hated so much. Sure it isn't perfect and and maybe you even can't compare it to other FF games, but in my opinion it was a great game and the music does a lot for the overall atmosphere of this game, wheter it's the orchestral soundtrack or this lovely version of Stand By Me.
Everyone set a very high standard for it since it was in development for near a decade. And when the game finally came out. Expectations were not met and so people got heavilly frustrated. Oh and the DLC's. The DLC's pissed many people since they think that it should have been in the main game when it first launched.

Sorry bruh but the game was trash especially if you had played ff7 and up! Spent $60 just to beat the game in like 5 hours. A large open world filled with damn near nothing to do. Empty characters, noctis didn't even develop as a character even with a 10 year fucking skip! Don't get me started with how they were scraping for sympathy moments (the blonde chicks death, that idiot propto getting held prisoner for 5 minutes). A seasoned rpg player could tell the game was trash...yeah the music and the trailer was great though! Lol
@@Berserkfury00 I played every FF game since FF3 and I loved every single one of them. All of them were great in their own way. If you beat the game in 5 hours you played it wrong in my opinion. But hey.. everyone should play games like they want to. But to rush through the game in 5 hours and to complain about an empty world afterwards is stupid. I tried a few of the side quests but they were repeatedly boring fetch quests or the even more boring dog tag bull. Just the same recycled garbage over and over. It felt like Square enix was completely lost in uncharted territory when it came to an open world rpg cause this was laughable! And I'm the type that loves exploring and getting as much done as possible before reaching the end! I mean for $60 the main story should have been 40 hrs minimum! Now all this being said I bought the game at launch! So this was before any dlc, maybe you played it far after its initial release cause for someone with as much experience with RPGs your far to generous calling that mess a great game lol. And yeah if played alot of RPGs as well bruh...definitely didn't "play it wrong".

I personally think that the photo system is the best feature in the game.. Unlike other games that create flashback using fixed scene, your flashback is your own unique memory and decision in the game. Even at the ending of the game, even though you cannot choose how it ends, the photo you choose that represent your journey in FF15 actually come up in the cut scene. This is not those ultra satisfying happy ending, but it is the most emotional game ending with personal memory and experience.
I'm a huge fan of Ben E. King's original, but if someone said this is the definitive version of "Stand By Me", I wouldn't fault them. Mind-blowing, emotional cover.

The game was emotionally gripping because let's face it, we all relate to the specific type of friendship promoted throughout. But nothing could have prepared me for the credits roll, I wondered the whole way through what the value of Promptos photos would be and they didn't jusf hold the memories of their journey but they make you relive the emotional story. I mean holy I have no cried genuine tears for a game character before like I did with this game.

I did realize it immediatly, I did think it was so obvious that wasn't even worth mentioning...I mean, even the protagonist is named NOCTIS, probalbly I realized it faster because I am from Italy and we call Night "Notte"
I didnt realize because it's a cover of a song that's been around a long while, so I didnt imagine it would lyrically be so accurate to the story.
The existence of this game was foreshadowed back when the artist who wrote this sung it for the first time.
ffxv is sitting on my desk for like 2 years now.. and just finished it last week.. man i thought it was just band of bros going on an adventure slaying monsters and to marry the oracle... the story was deep.

One of the BEST covers of the "Stand By Me" ever. Florence has that vibrato that give the lyrics an edge that causes you to get emotional. It went a bit off at the end but not enough to take away the impact of the song.
I know this game has gotten flak for some things but listening to this song and thinking about going on those side quests and hunts and the guys just talk to each other and joke around make it so special to me. My friends and I would do the same thing like pick a place to eat that was far away just to sit in the car and goof around and talk. There's something special about this FF despite its flaws. I love every second of playing it.

Actually, the game is very good, the people that said it is bad really don't play it fully. The only problem is the story because it is incomplete. You need to buy DLC just to fill the gaps in its storyline (vanilla FF15 game sucks)
Squall and even with the dlcs there are some plot holes now we have to wait for a novel.

Same. It's a fantastic song, that much certainly can't be argued, but it felt kind of outta place at the beginning. Then I got to the end of the game and it sank in and got pretty choked up. Then it started showing the pictures at the end and was pretty much in tears... then I realized all the photos were what I took through the game and my day was completely wrecked.
That’s what makes it not only the perfect song for the game, but the absolute best game despite any and all “shortcomings”.
I have never felt so emotionally invested in fictional characters as I do with the Chocobros. The voice actors just gave them life and did such a great job bonding you to the characters through the journey.
I know people complain about the “grinding”, but I cherished that time with the boys even on my first play through.
I swear I just beat this game and by far one of the best games ever I never knew a game can almost make a grown man damn near tear up .. REST WELL PRINCE NOCTIS!!!

This FF will always be remembered because of the amazing gameplay, music and characters. This is truly a new reach for the art called videogames... truly a masterpiece!
I can never relive or experience beating a video game again and having the same emotional impact it had the first time. I wish I could go back through the entire game and experience the surprises and all the adventures and sadness again. I teared up pretty bad during multiple parts of the game. I thought the game was phenomenal besides the flaws that every game has.

I gotta agree with you there, in ff9 is was memories of life and the scenes with Zidane and Garnet and in ff8 it was the song by Faye Wong which was Eyes On Me. Then in 12 we had Kiss Me Goodbye by Angels Aki which was decent, in FF7 we had Aeriths Theme when she gets killed by Sephiroth, which was emotional in its own right. But Stand by Me by Florence and the Machine with the sense of brotherhood in ff15 was just tear jerking.

This song hurts much more on your second time playing or listening due to the fact that you see that the bond between the characters really did last to the end of the game, with one character going so far as to become blind for his friend.
FFXV sure has brought a fresh new vibe for the whole series, it's not about becoming the hero and overcome yourself and defeat the big bad and save the day and the princess. FFXV is about friendship, trust, familial bonds, hope and how to COME UP WITH THE NEW RECIPE!

i know right, i spent a good while looking all around the game hoping and praying it was an option, and possibly other similar songs like this.
I think its is kind of like the Sovngarde song in Skyrim. Yes, you COULD have the song available at all parts of the game, but it just wouldn't have the same impact as it would by just having it at one (or two) specific parts of the game. I'll be the first to admit, when this song played over the end credits, I started sobbing.
Jwend392 I cried when Luna died, I broke down sobbing when Noctis showed the Ring in his hand, I cried when Noctis and Luna got married, and I cried when Noctis cried at The Last Camp. I also cried when "Stand By Me" played over the credits.

Rowell Ganancial it wouldn't have the same impact if it was played every two seconds. The beginning and the end of the game were perfect for this song to be put in. Each time played with a little different meaning. First time shows the strong connection between the brothers and then the final time shows more of a reminiscence of their time together but still shows their bond.
Fun fact. I was on the phone with one of my sisters when I finally beat this game and I was bawling. I put 60 hours into this game. And I loved all of the bros. And then the ending happened. Then this song. I was a mess XD

After years, Final Fantasy finally raises its head and walk tall again
Many years ago while I was living in a house with a landfill worker and a family that didn't care about either me nor my mother I borrowed this game. I remember playing it at first and I was instantly hooked! I loved the characters and the story that it had even though I didn't really understand it due to my age. I remember failing to drive the car and not even knowing how rushing worked....But I had a lot of fun even though 90% of the game a side
mechanics made to sense to me besides cooking. I remember going through the entire story and finishing the end boss with excitement in my heart as I saw this world which I didn't even know I love change due to my actions within the story...
I got the flying car thanks to a guide, I beat some bosses thanks to a guide...But that's only because I was little...I didn't know what was going on...
I have forgotten most about the story and what I did throughout the years besides the ending and concept of each character. (Some names have been forgotten)
My birthday is in 9 days from posting this comment and I am planning on getting this game for myself to play to matter what. I need to go through everything again and actually master fishing for once...And maybe go through New Game+ since I didn't know what the point of that was at the time.

IMHO it's the first good final fantasy game in years, and I'm so glad about that
I completely agree, xiii and xiii-2 were awful, this one has some areas of opportunity but yet is a great final Fantasy.

Indeed it is. It's too gay for my taste. A Final Fantasy party without girls... Erm plus no freedom to date anyone. Very Japanese this and very FF like unfortunately. :

beautiful game.... Final fantasy and metal gear solid probaly my most favourite game franchises. sad that there will be no more mgs series.
I just restarted the game during this hard containment for everyone, because I waited 3 long years before buying and starting the game day one, then I realised I never finished it, first moments back in the great world of FFXV I hear this song cover, it was awazing and made me want to enjoy the journey and finally finish the game
It is a great game, I loved it
