So i just ordered the Japanese cafe the other day. Definitely not as good as the other 3 from legit designer.. but this one is just okay enough to pick up I think. Plus, i got it on a discount.
I liked the second one more, has nice gimmicks, especially the whole second floor n_n I actually don't mind those giant stickers, since the designs are quite good.
Haven't watched the whole video, but there were 3 sets prior to this, right. You're missing the Summer Coffee House (which has a cool chrome piece and 2 other features). I will most probably get those 2 sets in this video, I really like the color schemes of them. CaDa has some great things going for it: boxes (filled to the brim), good price-piece ratio, printed and pdf instruction. But the bricks could be better, they should have prints (atleast the important outside things) and the colors in the instructions are sometimes hard to discern. They could also improve some construction things for better stability, less flexing of e.g. roofs or build 1 thick walls without connecting to rest of the set. I guess the sets are not modular because of the light sets that would be ripped apart.

I am definitely loving these Brother !! CADA is nailing these Japanese buildings , no doubt a perfect neighborhood to have patrol unit RT - 41 to drive through. In regard to mini fig size throwing a extra layer of brick it ought to remedy that right ? Definitely will modify them alright. Keep on rocking these . How do they pair up with the Initial D tofu shop ? Just think that every Brick City needs a Asian / Japanese district. Still wish you would get a shop out here man LOL !! I was pumped for more of these buildings and kept asking for more on cada's socials. As soon as they were revealed I was immediately disappointed. Compared to the steam bun shop and tea house, these 2 new buildings are inferior. I'll consider them on a big discount. Very disappointed with Cada. Edit: After finishing the video, definitely not picking them up. I really wanted to keep supporting Cada, but not with this quality.
Yeap, "dropping test" told me everything I needed to know about sturdiness of these two. I know they are display sets mostly but I would be afraid of even touching them for adjustments at this point. This situation reminds me of Panlos Maus - a great looking set from a great manufacturer that is surprisingly fragile for what it is.

Yea I mentioned the walls are thin and pushing them will just break off. Since the one uses sliding doors all over the place it’s structurally worse since not much wall. Let’s see if they’ll get back with exesandbox.

I'm also hate that CaDa now using "です" ( desu ) in every of their stickers, I mean c'mon you don't need to put that word in every single stickers to make it looks Japanese... As a Japan block fans since Sembo Blocks, I think Sembo did more better ( that's why I can translate every Japanese words in their stickers before ). For these sets, I don't said it's wrong to use that word, but you don't need to put it in all of stickers because "です" ( desu ) word usually used when those words are spoken not written and it's just to emphasize the words followed by ( like for example 20:28, it's should be "人形" ( Ningyo ) only without "です" which means dolls, if you combine them it would be means "it's dolls" ) Luckily, CaDa's Tong Xin Jun design correctly used Japanese language stickers and I can said it's more Japanese than these sets ^^
I can't believe they put 1x1 bracket tile for chair. How are minifigures supposed to sit? They should hire back the original designer, don't go cheap on the most important element on these buildings. I buily it, and nothing smart about the build, and like you said....just like micro building by sembo block. Im not surprised if Cada hire them to design these two.
I wouldn't say drop in quality, more like the design while trying to implement exesandbox's idea. I have a feeling they're gonna get loads of feedback. If that's the case it's better just to hire him back to do the next sets rather than go cheap and think they can use their own interior designer.

I'm so disappointed they didn't continue with Tong Xin Jun design... i have the first 3 and all bulit and i love it! i got to say CADA copy it and it not ready at all.. is looks cheesy and it looks like a kids toys.. so disappointed... NOt sure i will buy it.. Please hire a designer.

They look amazing but I'm trying to convert them all to fit seamlessly into my lego modular building set.
