I still think this is the best time to be alive. I know the future might hold great things but I feel like as time goes on humans have a harder time being adapted to the world. I don't think we're ment to live these type of lives. The world as a whole is becoming more corrupt and that's not going to change. The future might be like it is in China. A social credit system that judges you on everything. Play videos games for a couple hours, drink a beer, call in sick, etc all effect your score that effects your whole life. Life is going from treating us as humans that need to live our lives to solely being pieces of meat that get work done.
We'll be more like Brave New World, minds altered with drugs so we accept our incongruous reality. The original downfall of man was accepting civilization over hunter-gatherer lives. The fact that we made it through far uglier times of civilization means it will continue indefinitely.
