This exact thing has been driving me facking bananas the past few weeks since I've found this mix. Best to not think too hard about it and just enjoy the feelings of aimless nostalgia.
There's a great quote from William Gibson, coiner of the term "Cyber Space" and author of most of the books that spawned this aesthetic, "Nothing acquires quite as rapid or peculiar a patina of age as an imaginary future" - Burning Chrome.
I want to so badly, just reach my hand into the screen and just live the rest if my life in this background, the 80s neon colors, the never ending sunset, endless coastal roads that lead to nowhere but my dreams on a long lost planet, driving a pos 80s corolla, and I'm not feeling anything but never ending happiness, a beautiful young woman in the passenger seat, resting her head on my shoulder as the cool ocean winds blow through our hair, not a care in the world, just us. Just here, not going anywhere but up. 💪❤
This feels like driving around with my friends in the warm summer nights, windows down, street lights flashing by and creating a glowing line that beckons us to follow it. We're all staring out the windows, resting our heads on each others shoulders and just simply enjoying existing. I miss summer.
The combination of these images and sounds makes me feel like I'm traveling back to the future, experiencing a vibrant fusion of memories and possibilities.
I sit here in my car, finally having speakers and a stereo that can play aux, i saw a comment on here that someone played this mix as the first thing ever in their car. i’m doing the same now with the music that has made me, and nothing has made me more than this mix has. i would not be going into a career in music production and composition if i had never heard this and transcended that late spring night 5 years ago. i’ve commented something similar before about how i fell in love with music because of this mix, and then latched onto that love because of solitude by the present sound, but thank you eugene.
A couple of days ago I downloaded this video on my phone so I could use it for a long driving night day. It was absolutely amazing to drive at 2:00 AM with this kind of music in the background. I felt in the '80s, very recommendable for a pleasant night driving, I wish the song last a little more than 45 minutes. Enjoy it as much as I did!

I listened to this during the isolation back in 2020. I get this weird but amazing vibe, I feel like I know what it feels like to live in the 80’s/90’s, I was born way later but heavens… This is amazing
I was born in 1988, but somehow I feel like I spend my current life in the 80s while listening to a synthwave. Recently I've even found that is has it's own name - Anemoia.
When I die, I just want it to be this. Completely relaxed, thoughtless, no worries. I don't believe in heaven but if there is an afterlife, I would want it to be this..
I remember the first time I discovered the retrowave genre. I had heard nothing like it. And then I learned that a song can be an absolute banger, but somehow incredibly moving. Plus, the first time I discovered retrowave music was when I was looking for music to listen to when driving to the beach. It hits different when you're driving to the beach.

Sedative drugs, like "heroin," that use syringes to inject drugs are always more awesome fun as with good lifestyles that casually embrace good psychedelia, usually so I like to always have extra free syringes with me that are visually good that I think are usually more beautiful than "LSD" tabs, honestly. I like the appearance of beautiful cigarettes, usually, always also as awesome, usually! This music has great vibes that are adaptable as good compatibility using pretty aesthetics cohesively with my psychedelic meditating and I will probably enjoy listening to music like this while showering with good psychedelic drugs more, later again always ! All awesome stuff and I like this! I wish that I could get free Ketamine instead of syrups... Hallucinogens always help vibes and I knew that halluconigenic drugs were always good fun to consume by vaporizing while in this country. I like drugs most about America and most smart people do, anyways, I always consider this with good meditating usually more to enjoy more living. I hope to be employed and own a house with good utilities, always. Faith is always good and I hope that the remainder of my life is enjoyably wholesome always. I will never truly owe anybody language that I do not have; I do not know much vocabulary in this country but I will always enjoy the good psychedelia of enlightening feelings that I always enjoyed the beauty of, devotedly often, since I have been in this country as like being in Chicago, a city with awesomely psychedelic "cough syrup" drugs that are usually always available on every shelf in every drug store, as for sale as "over the counter." I have been homeless and unemployed, mostly, for at least one year since the year of 2021 with having only memories of chronic adult homelessness before then. I honestly, really need good support and a good home that has every resource that I want. I hope that everyday will be more psychedelic.
