Hi Mark! Good to see you finally back in the woods. And finally you are able to start building your new camp. It is such a beautiful piece of woodland. Looking forward to the next videos. ATB and stay save! André

Good to see you safe and well Mark. Beautiful day you had there for your little projects. Really looking forward to seeing the camp progress. Stay safe and take care.
Thank you Scott 👍. Hopefully this weather will be with us for a while and I will make the most of it. I hope you have been keeping well during these times. Stay safe...... all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Nice to hear someone from my neck of the woods making these videos. I fancy woodland wild camping myself but don't really know where to start. New to the channel by the way.
Hi Andy, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. If you are local, then there are a few woods in the area which are nice for wild camping. I used hanchurch and cannock for a while. Thanks again Andy..... have a great weekend mate, all the best, Mark 😀👍🌲🌲🌲🌲.

Hi Mark. Nice to see your safe and back out in the woods. Being a relatively beginner it was a bonus that you made the maul and pegs from scratch and shared that with us. Take care buddy and l look forward to your next video. Regards Alan
Hi Alan, I hope you have been keeping well mate. I'm glad you found the video useful, I will probably show a lot more of the processes as I make things. It is a good reminder to myself as well. Have a great weekend Alan, stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hello mate, I'm thrilled to see you have made it unscathed through the pandemic so far. I never get tired of watching people do the basics, we all had to start somewhere and I wish youtube had been about when I started. They didn't even have the internet back then lol. Looking forward to watching the camp develop. Be safe and be lucky man, Wol.
Hi Wol, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. I was wondering the other day how you were getting on, so it is great to hear from you as always. I'm all good here thanks mate. I could do with returning to work though. Sitting around the house drives me 🤪. So I'm glad we can get out again now, especially with the nice weather. I was a bit gutted that I couldn't put the beanie on again, but was too bloody hot lol. Thanks for taking the time Wol..... stay safe mate, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
This looks like it's going to be a Must Watch Series concerning the Camp build, It does us all good to go back over the basics of camp craft to hone our skills. Thanks for the Upload and good to see you fit and well brother. Have bought a 4x4 D D Tarp and have been practising my tarpology in the garden lol.
Hi Brother, I hope you have been keeping well. It is always great to hear from you 👍. Hopefully now I can get out and the weather is nice, I should be able to crack on with it. Nice one, DD tarps are great. I bet you can't wait to get it used. It was a shame the bushcraft show was cancelled, I was hoping to look at some new tarps and bit and pieces. Thanks for taking the time.... stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Great to see you back Mark, hope you have been well. I'm OK thanks, just planning my return to the great outdoors. Some nice simple projects there, as well. Thanks again Mark and take care mate 👍 ☺️
Hi Mike, it is great to hear from you mate 👍, I'm glad you have been keeping well. I bet you can't wait to get out again!! Fingers crossed they will allow camping again soon. I have seen where they have been sending people back home who have been out in their motor homes and camping. It will take time, but we are heading in the right direction. Stay safe Mike..... all the very best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Hi MrLooj69, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍. I'm all good thanks. I had only been getting out for shorts walks in the local woods so there wasn't much filming I could do really. It is good to be able to get out a bit more now, and hopefully we have a decent summer. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Robert, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. Thanks as always for watching and for the kind words mate...... Have a great weekend, stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Mark, it's been a long time... so pleased to see you keeping well. Glad to have found you on here and as skilful as ever, rod or not. Enjoyed viewing your content.
Hi Jim, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. It is great to hear from you, it has been a while. I'm doing good thanks mate. I am just waiting to get back to work now. I work at a trout fishery over in Wales, but unfortunately they are still on lockdown. I hope you have managed to carry on working and getting out Jim. Thanks for taking the time mate. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀.
Hi Chris & Sam, I hope you are both keeping well 👍. It was nice to finally be able to get out again. Lets hope this sun stays shining!!! It won't be long before Bertha will be gracing the roads again. Have a great week ahead..... all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Stellar video Mark! I was just thinking about you, wondering how things were going. Was actually about to drop you a line on an old vid just to check. Good to see you out and about creating quality, educational entertainment again. Thanks for sharing! Jerry
Good morning Jerry, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. I'm all good here thanks mate...... thanks for asking. I had only managed to get out for short walks so I didn't do any filming. Hopefully now we are opening back up, I can get out more frequently again. Have a great weekend Jerry..... stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Good to see you out and about Mark, the camp will take shape in no time. i haven't been near my camp since lockdown but I'm lucky enough to live on the coast so I've been walking along the shore for a brew and a whittle. stay safe brother atb Colin.
Hi Colin, I hope you are well mate 👍. Yeah this lockdown has been tough for a lot of people. You are lucky to live by the coast mate. I used to love it when I lived in Cornwall. I loved my costal walks and exploring the caves. Hopefully things should start getting easier again soon. I could do with returning to work soon, but Wales are still on lockdown. Thanks for taking the time Colin...... stay safe mate. All the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Michael, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. Deffo, I thought that myself mate. I might try and make a raised bed and use it with that. I hope you have been doing well during the lockdown Michael........ have a great week ahead, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Yeah that would be a great idea. I’m good thanks under the circumstances. I hope you and the family are coping as well as can be expected. Have A Great Week too. ✊🏻 All the best Michael 🌳🌲🌳🌝🐿🐇🦔🌳🌲🌳
Hi Mark. Good to see you again. Very timely video... I have a piece of sycamore almost exactly those dimensions and was wondering what I might do with it. Mawl it is! Thanks again for the tips and tricks. Much appreciated 👍
Hi Octopus9611, I hope you have been keeping well 👍. Sycamore is a great wood for working with. I might look for a bit more...... but healthier lol. I wouldn't mind making a Kuksa out of some next time. Mauls are always handy, I find them useful for a multitude of jobs. I like to make one because I find if I use a thick branch, apart from it not being as comfortable in the hand, they always end up on the fire lol. Thanks for taking the time..... stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Glad to see you out and about, Mark! Today is the day our Governor is re-opening the state of Alaska so hopefully, I'll be able to "legally" get outside! Unfortunately, our tourist season is shot before it starts, but by not working so hard, I should be able to do more camping and make more videos. You appear to be healthy and that's good! Stay that way, my friend! Brian
Hi Brian, I hope you are keeping well my friend 👍. I'm glad they are opening things up again for you. I'm sure you won't have too much trouble social distancing where you are. I was watching your latest video the other night. I enjoyed it...... interesting piece of kit. I will look forward to watching you videos when you get out Brian. Stay safe my friend, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Peak District Bouldering..... it is great to gear from you. Yes it is great to be able to get back out. Fingers crossed the next video won't be as long to wait for lol. Thanks for taking the time, stay safe, all the best, Mark 👍🌲🔥.
Brilliant to see you back again mark great video as always I really enjoyed it that camp area looks deadly it's nice to have good tools as well it makes it even more enjoyable just spending that bit extra for the better knives is well worth it looking forward to your next video take care
Hi Shane, I hop you have been keeping well 👍. It is great to hear from you mate. It was good to be able to get out again. Fingers crossed they will lift the restrictions on camping soon and I can get a few overnighters done and enjoy the rest of summer 😀. Thanks for taking the time, all the best, Mark 👍🔥🌲.
Hi Rich, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. I am all good here thanks. I was also wondering how you were getting on. I kept an eye on your State and it seems like it was hit hard. Hopefully things will start to ease more and we can at least get a summer out of it. I think work has gone for this year, so I might as well try and do something productive lol. Thanks for taking the time Rich..... stay safe and have a great weekend..... all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
That looks as though it will be a great spot for a basecamp mark. I’m sure I’ve seen a mall like that at my basecamp. Very handy things. Good to see your channel doing so well. Mines not doing so good. Must be doing something wrong I think. Anyway, all the best mark
Hi Shane, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. Hopefully this weather will stay and I will try and make the most of it. I could also do with going back to work but I can't get over to Wales yet as they are still on lockdown. I love your channel mate... it is great. I wouldn't say you are doing anything wrong at all. Great content, filming, editing, plus you are a top bloke. I would say mine is more luck lol. I love your new shelter.... it is a great addition. Thanks for taking the time Shane.... stay safe, all the best, Mark. 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Joe, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. Yeah I have been feeling a bit 😒 with staying in all the time. But thankfully I should now be able to enjoy the summer 😀😀😀. I haven't forgot about your tag mate, I will crack on with it when I am out next. Take care, all the best, Mark 🌲🔥😀.
A up mark cracking video mate so chilled and relaxed. I can't wait for my new kit to arrive, well mora robust knive that's all I can afford plus the hook knive lol happy days .
Good stuff Mark, they would have been my first jobs at camp for sure. The Maul is a great tool when you've got a full camp to build and carving projects etc. I use mine most days for something and I'd definitely be making the chopping block slash seat slash food preping slash carving block next. Just so useful and makes it so much easier for everything. Get it set at the perfect height and you're laughing 🙂. That permission is going to be a great little resource for you a d you should be able to get a good series of films out of setting it all up 👍. Great to see ya mate and what a great day to be in the forest. The birds were well on form werent they . Look after yourself Mark and I'll look forward to the next one 🔥👍
Hi Rick, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. Yeah, even though it wasn't anything exciting, clearing the ground and making a few things to get the camp sorted is important. Like yourself, I often use a maul for knocking in stakes, cutting notches, splitting wood etc. I have used too many thick branches in the past only for them to end up on the fire lol. The next one, I will start making things to make camp more comfortable and the jobs easier. I just hope I can get back work soon. I could do with a few treats after all this lockdown!! Thanks for taking the time Rick...... it is always great to hear from you, take care, all the best, Mark 🌲🔥😀.

I find myself waiting anxiously for your next “release” lol... as usual, great content in a most beautiful place. I’m glad rona didn’t get you my friend😳 I think your country has handled it far better than the buffoonery here that is our new normal. Of course in my job, it’s a wee concern. Top shelf as usual Mark ~ I look forward to watching the progress. Blue Skies always my friend!
Hi Brian, I am glad you are well. It is great to hear from you as always my friend 👍. I don't know we have had our own problems here too..... ours has been done by the people who are laying down the law. It was on the news that there will be a few top people getting sacked for breaking all the restrictions that they put into place. Drs, Scientists and MP's. They make the common folk stay in. I hope we can get back to normal soon Brian and enjoy summer. I am looking forward to cracking on with getting the area ready for a few overnighters. Thanks for taking the time.... stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Mark great video and good to see you back out you definitely had good weather for it. I cant wait to camp in the new woodland ove found but unfortunately it's not a permission take care mate and keep safe😁👍
Hi Carl, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. Hopefully it won't be long before they allow camping again. I was watching the police turning a load of campers and motorhomes back on the TV. I think folk just want to get out again now. I will look forward to you camping vids Carl. I always enjoy them mate. Have a great week, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Brew time already? you only just got started LOL 🍶 ... I was just typing you seem to be missing your work bench/log, I know how much you would have enjoyed that morming, looking forward to see how you develope your camp Mark, regards Matt 👍
Hi Matt, I hope you are keeping well mate. LOL, I'm a nightmare for brews. I had a bad kidney infection about 20 years ago and I still suffer with it from time to time, so I need at least 20 cups a day to flush them out 😉. Well that's what I tell the gaffer anyway. Yes, I am still missing the log/bench. I didn't have time to cut one. I could do with borrowing the owners chain saw and have good look what's about. Thanks for taking the time Matt..... I hope you are still enjoying the new rifle. Take care, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Hi Chris, I hope you are keeping well mate👍. It has felt even longer from this end lol. It is good to be able to get back out. The next thing is to find another job. Thanks as always mate.... it is great to hear from you. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Hi Josh, I hope you are keeping well mate. Yes it was a long time coming mate. I was going 🤪stuck indoors lol. It is great to hear from you. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Mark, can you tell me wich knife do you use in this video? Is it Lt Wright Genesis, GEN 5 or GNS or something similar? Btw, nice work as allways. And beautiful nature. Thank you
Hi Milenko, I hope you are keeping well 👍. The knife is the LT Wright Genesis. It is the original design with A2 steel and a scandi grind. I find them a great knife. Very comfortable in the hand and the steel is very good. Thanks for taking the time Milenko... have a great day, all the best, Mark 😀🔪.
@@markbailey2981 Thank you for your quick answer. My plan is to buy Genesis or GNS. Both good knives. Probably A2 steel. I heard a lot of good things about AEB-L too. But I'm not without knife so I have time to think. 👍
Hi Joel, I hope you are keeping well brother. I am doing OK thanks. Just under more house arrest here due to the lockdowns lol. Fingers crossed we can get a bit of normality soon. I was watching a couple of your latest vids the other day. It is great to see you are keeping well. I couldn't comment for some reason, it is hit or miss using my phone. I have my laptop back now, so I should be able to communicate better. Have a great week brother, all the best, Mark :) :)
Any chance of comparing the Rush72 with the Savotta L ? I have the Rush & am debating / trying to justify / talk myself into getting the Savotta lol. 😂
Hi welshcarl, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. I'm sure I can do that for you mate. Both are excellent packs. My day to day pack is the Rush 72, but for longer trips the Savotta has been a great buy. I know what you mean. Buying a new pack is never a cheap thing, so I had to watch a few videos before parting with the money myself. Thanks for taking the time..... have a great weekend, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
@@markbailey2981 Hi Mark got back early. Doing OK. I enjoyed this mate - always a pleasure. Handy tools in camp for sure. I'm going to try one or two with my new knife. I have a very special knife here sent by someone we all know. All will be revealed. Thanks for your skills once more Mark. Peace!
Heya buddy it looks like an awesome place! Weird that this didnt pop up in my notifications ... anyway, all good Ihope you've been keeping well? Two facts that as of now, only you know, 1: Crafting a Maul at a festival got me into bushcraft and 2: I actually have a permission wood which I obtained before I ever had a single camp or much gear and have since never even been to, in fact, the owner keeps asking when Im going haha cheers my man
Hi Chris, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. Crafting camp mauls are a great way to get into bushcraft. They are nice to make and the end results usually look good (until they get used lol). I'm all good thanks Chris. I'm ready to return to work, but it still looks like it will be a while off yet. You should get start using your permission. It would be nice to see. Plus it saves the land owner offering it to someone else. That would be my luck lol. I picked the auger up off eBay a few years ago. I tried to add it as a link, but I couldn't find them again. You can buy them cheap enough of eBay, but this had a predrilled hole and a small t-bar. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to make your own, if you had a drill. I have also seen some with large eyes welded to the top, so you can fashion a t-bar out of wood whilst out. Thanks as always Chris..... it is great to hear from you. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Hi Jim, I hope you are well mate 👍. I'm not too far from you mate. I used to have family in Cheadle. I tell you what Jim, I will carve one for you mate. I could do with nipping out to get a few pieces of wood. I will get a piece of sycamore for it whilst I'm there. I will try and get out in a day or two and I will do it. I don't want anything for it, it's only a piece of wood. I will let you know when I have done it and you can email me your postal address. Take care mate, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
@@jimbryan2271 Your welcome Jim. My email address is markbay@hotmail.com I have cut the wood, I will make a start carving it over the weekend and will let yo know when it is done. It shouldn't take too long. Take care mate, all the best, Mark.

Glad to see you back Mark! I was getting a bit worried! Good to see you're safe.
Great seeing you back again Mark! Great video as always see you next time !! Stay safe and healthy!!
Good to see you mark .. love how vid started , luv hearing birds , proper chilling .. another good vid my friend .. stay safe cheers Chris & Sam
Welcome home, nice to have you back
Hi Stuart...... I hope you have been keeping well mate. Thank you!! Have a great weekend.
Great to see you on your new permission 👍🏻
Be ideal for the bedroll and tarp 👊🏻
Hi Michael, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. Deffo, I thought that myself mate. I might try and make a raised bed and use it with that. I hope you have been doing well during the lockdown Michael........ have a great week ahead, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Yeah that would be a great idea.
I’m good thanks under the circumstances.
I hope you and the family are coping as well as can be expected.
Have A Great Week too. ✊🏻
All the best Michael 🌳🌲🌳🌝🐿🐇🦔🌳🌲🌳
Nice one. You look very happy to be getting out again.
So glad to see you back Mark! I was concerned you had contracted the virus. Great vid and welcome back!
Hey Mark 😀 Glad to see you back out in your element friend! That lockdown must have been pretty hard on you. Hope to see you out and about more😀😀😀🎉🎉🎉
Hi Joe, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍.
Nice to see you again. Glad you and yours are doing well. As always nice video.
Hi Earl, I hope you have been keeping well 👍. Many thanks for stopping by and for comment..... it is very much appreciated. Have a great weekend. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hi Mark mate glad your safe and well another great video stay safe
Hi Shaun, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. It is always great to hear from you. Many thanks as always for watching and taking the time to comment. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Great stuff Mark.....stay safe:)
Hi Shannon, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍. You stay safe too...... all the best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.
Hiya mark hope your keeping well mate. Another top job. Long overdue . All the best mate. Chris
Hi Chris, I hope you are keeping well mate👍. It has felt even longer from this end lol. It is good to be able to get back out. The next thing is to find another job. Thanks as always mate.... it is great to hear from you. Stay safe, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
I'm glad you got to get out. Looks like you had a great time.
Hi Mark hope your well..just checking in...🤟
Hi Kevin, it is great to hear from you mate :) I'm all good here thanks. I hope you are keeping well mate, all the best, Mark :)
Hope your still bushcrafting..👍
@@kevinoshea2870 I'm still doing a bit Kevin. Mostly working at the moment due to summer, but when things quiet down I will be back out :)
Good job 👏👏👏
Hi Doomsday, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a great week, all the best, Mark 👍😀.
HI MARK! How are you mate? Hope all is well. Stay safe and God Bless
Blimey I actually missed a video your spoons still going strong mate 😀
Thanks for getting back to me. That would be great. 👍
Watch later tonight Mark. I'll be back. Peace. Mark
Hi Mark, I hope you are keeping well mate. Enjoy your day mate 👍. Stay safe, all the very best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Two facts that as of now, only you know, 1: Crafting a Maul at a festival got me into bushcraft and 2: I actually have a permission wood which I obtained before I ever had a single camp or much gear and have since never even been to, in fact, the owner keeps asking when Im going haha
cheers my man
by the way mark, where did you get the augor? I def need a few
Mark do you have a brick and morter or do you live off grid
👍
Hi Lars, many thanks for watching my friend 👍.
I hope you have been keeping well. Take care, all the best Mark.
😀🔥🌲.
Sound local mate I'm in Cheadle staffs. You sell wooden spoons? Jim
@@markbailey2981 bloody hell mate that's very decent of you. Will email you, all the best Jim.
@@jimbryan2271 Your welcome Jim. My email address is markbay@hotmail.com I have cut the wood, I will make a start carving it over the weekend and will let yo know when it is done. It shouldn't take too long. Take care mate, all the best, Mark.
Arrived today Cheers Mark
