Your explanation of wabi sabi seems to be the most authentic of the several books I have read and many youtube videos that I have watched. Arrigato!

Azumi, in all respect, I don’t know if I can ever accept suffering, physical ills, poverty, the cruelty of war, the violence in our lives. We cause suffering, and I do not understand being reconciled even to myself when I cause hurt to other lives. I don’t understand peace, acceptance or joy. Thank you. I feel hopeful when I listen to you.

Beautiful. I think in the end, most of these arts point at one fundamental thing: listening our 心, accepting all of our inner world, and accepting all of the outer world without judgements. Staying always in the present moment. And every art bring a piece of that presence, to stay here, to be

I came across Wabi Sabi and the meaning of it when I was trying to understand what is beauty according to Japanese perception of aestheticism. I truely appreciate Japanese commitment to quality and devotion to their task. I am also drawn to Japanese way of doing things. I consider your channel as a window to Japanese culture. I always wonder how Japanese people comes up with brilliant results everytime on everything they do. Thanks very much of shedding lights on Japanese culture...

Oh honey, no one comes up with brilliant results everything all the time. Japanese culture has so much beauty and wisdom to it, but in some ways is also harsh and cruel. They have a very high demand for appearances: making things look a certain way even, when they are the opposite. ⛩

I heard of this Japanese concept from art shcool and it led me on a path to this video. After watching this now I can understand the value of accept things as they really are. This is very wise and I feel like I should move back to Japan and learn everything, like I am from these videos

Azumiさん, this is insightful on the deeper meaning of Wabi-Sabi. Thanks for sharing the historical context from the root words Wabu, Sabu and what the concept truly means. I thought (mistakenly) it was the Japanese craftsmanship of fixing broken objects, giving it second life. But that’s just one part of what it truly means. Thanks for your posts. From シンガポール

    Great 👍
    Shakespeare's quote,
"There's nothing good nor bad only thinking makes it so.."
    Mostly,
    I heard the quote interpreted..
As good and bad being a matter of subjective opinion..
    To me ,
    it seems
    like
there should be something more and or something missing....
Beyond the matter of subjective opinion..
    I was very inspired,
    By your insights..
The world is not a perfect place and our friends, families,
    Including ourselves.
    We
    are not perfect..
It's very disappointing when people don't meet our expectations 😕..
    I see the point,
    It's about accepting
    What is..
    The *TRUTH* 💖🙏💖
    Then,
    Life doesn't seem so hard..
    We are all human,
It's only natural that we want things to go our way..
Which is easier said than done..
There are always a few bumps in the road along the ways....
    I am retired old man.
Once I used to be art teacher.
People have trouble drawing likeness to what they see.
    Because,
They want to change what's their...
They are not accepting it holistically..
    As is..
    The light and the shadows..
    When we draw something
    We get to know it,
    More than,
    a passing glance..
With that comes appreciation and the discovery of the beauty of the ordinary..
Thank you very much for sharing your insights..
    💖🙏💖

If there is no projection, Good Will reveals itself to be causing the blossoming of all things that we experience around us including ourselves, our physiology, our personality. Every particular material thing is a variation on the animating theme Good Will; i.e., nationalism, race, gender, religion, human kind and nature, ideal and material, self and other are of one uniting source while each fully realizes it's individuality. The non-projector experiences himself/herself to be Good Will causing this blossoming of all things.

Ironically this is so rational!! it fails to engage the essence of the ideas of both and each other in terms of essence, of ethnography!

Thank you for your comment! It starts by observing our mind and our inner talk, our thoughts. Give our mind and our brain to rest. Connect to nature, See what is beyond your window. See the trees, leaves, changing the color, dancing with the wind? As you do that, you will find a moment of peace, feel a delight in your heart..... In my website, there are more articles and welcome you there! www.azumiuchitani.com/read

So important for the Western society in which only the seemingly perfect and not used has a value.
This attitude leads to the wasting of so many resources!

This seems similar to the Buddhist concept of emptiness, where in things and people do not necessarily have any essence in themselves.
