    Thank you, so useful from Spain.

    Very useful. May I know for the gravity load, is the input unit kN/m^2?

    • @StructuredParametrics
      @StructuredParametrics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the gravity load is documented as a multiplier of gravity. Therefore the load in the example will be (Self weight) x (vector multiplier). If you want to add a line load in kN/m, use the line load component. Hope that helps.

    When I click set multiple points in Point parameters it doesn't mark them immediately as yours. I must manually draw them again which doesn't make sense. Do you hold any special key while clicking "set multiple points"? Great tutorial, btw. Very informative. Thank you!

      Try selecting "clear values" before "set multiple points". I think that happens when there are already points in the component.

    Hi! I tried to run the structure analysis on the model that I constructed by following your previous video "Tutorial: Simple Truss Structural Analysis with Karamba in Grasshopper and Rhino". Unfortunately it wasn't possible for me to select the nodes. It seems that the model I made through Grasshopper isn't made by actual points (marked with an "O" in Rhino), but by coordinates (marked with an "X"). I noticed that the same thing happens in your model which I previously referred to. Therefore as I try to "set multiple Points" I'm not able to select them. I hope you can help me solve my problem. Thank you very much.

    Im having issues with Units. In the model node, it says my c.Length is 18837 m. Which shouldn't be the case. I think Karamaba is taking my millimeters as meters, which is causing very high deflections

      We just published a video showing how we can convert a normal structural model into Grasshopper + Karamba model. We would be interested to know if you think this might be useful?

    I'm professional structure engineer. Pls delight me what is the advantages using this kind of workflow compare to regular one. In my humble opinion, i can do the exact thing 2x faster in regular software (i use midas software) and how deep/advance analysis this software capable of ? I mean like nonlinear analysis, time history, etc.

    • @StructuredParametrics
      @StructuredParametrics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regular software certainly has more advanced capability for analysis than Karamba (although maybe this might change in the future).
      The difference to most traditional software is that geometry and other inputs can be controlled parametrically. For example you could run through many different geometry configurations in seconds by scrolling the mouse. There is also access to lots of geometry and mathematical input and output tools in grasshopper.
      Either way there is no reason to stop using traditional software. Many engineers wont need or want to use parametrics and that's fine.

      @@StructuredParametrics I see. I, myself will use CAD+Excel for modelling complex structural shape (at least to generate the nodes coordinate). Either way, i like the logical input in this software. Good for the starter.

    For some reason I can ot set multiple points in rhino.. I try to connect them, but grasshopper doesnt recognize them. What kind of points do I need in Rhino?

    • @StructuredParametrics
      @StructuredParametrics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to use any rhino points. We always use 'set multiple points' (even when setting one point) as this stops Rhino from asking for a series of points one by one which is not a good experience IMO.

    Hi I'm very new to rhino, I made a parametric truss and then did the same steps as you have done but I cannot see any deformation or anything new in the rhino view, can you please tell me what must be the issue?
    Thank you

    • @StructuredParametrics
      @StructuredParametrics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say why that is. It sounds like the Karamba plugin is not working. Try seeing if the number outputs are working first.

    I don't understand... when i try to connect my points to the assemble output, it says my nodes are unconnected in the model ...

    • @StructuredParametrics

      Hmmm. Not sure without looking at the script. Maybe it's because all points and lines aren't touching each other in the drawing?

    I’m having trouble using the ‘line to beam’ component, it always shows the same error message which is ‘this component did not run because it lacked required data’. Any ideas to fix this?

    • @StructuredParametrics
      @StructuredParametrics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure as that component is fairly simple. If you hover the mouse over the 'Line' input make sure there are values being input.
