Metal Gear Solid 3 HD Very Easy Speedrun Guide

So you want to learn the MGS3 Very Easy speedrun. All of the top Western runners suggest learning Very Easy if you want to speedrun MGS3, especially if you intend on eventually learning higher difficulties, because Very Easy provides a great learning ground for the basic mechanics of the game, with its very low barrier to entry, but high skill ceiling.

It took like 30 tries but I finally beat The End the same way as you. My problem was getting The End stunned for those ~10 seconds. The key seems to be the overhand throw and throwing the Stun Grenades in rapid sequence. Overhand is tricky because it requires holding square for a bit longer but if you hold it for too long, you aren't throwing it in rapid sequence (which will result in The End laying down and shooting instead of being stunned). Not sure if getting a better controller (e.g., PS5 one) would help with the overhand throw because I was using some cheap PS-type controller.

That was insanely fast 😎,I’ve completed this game several times growing up my best speed time yesterday was 2 hours 10 mins the only exploit I knew was the fears exploit I do it with the knife but I’m going to try another speedrun tomorrow (I’m rusty haven’t played this game in over 7 years ) this will help me get my speedrun a lot faster than 2 hours thank for the tips I subscribed 😁

does the end no take as much stamina damage in the ps2 version? every time I get to him headshots don't do enough damage and he just run off.

If I remember correctly, the problem is that stun grenades do less stamina damage than in later versions. I believe the PAL version of Subsistence or any HD Edition version is required for this End strat to work.

Yeah, it works. The only thing I recommend changing is that you need to take a step forward after reviving during The Fear, since The Fear always walks up behind you on PC.

I’m having a bit of trouble at ocelot unit. The guard on the roof always throws a grenade at me. How can I avoid this?

In the back left corner of the room with all the boxes you can hide behind (the one that the Ocelot Unit has to go through before they try to flashbang you in the room you were in with Eva), you can see him through a hole in the roof and tranq him when he's least likely to be watching there

That just means you're too slow at shooting him. Try to get a good roll out the window, or at least roll out the window on the first or second try. When you're turning to face the roof guard, make sure you're not aiming your gun, because you turn slower with your gun raised.
