As a black mama of a kiddo with albinism. This resonates with me. Y’all are amazing and seem to be thriving. We’ve heard it all. Albinism, can make it difficult to make connections. But I also look at it as a great way of weeding out fair weather peeps.

I happened to marry a white man as I live in a country that is mainly white. I assumed that my children would be dark-skinned though, and I was utterly shocked when my eldest daughter turned out to be white, blond and blue-eyed. In the room next to me was a woman with a cute dark-skinned baby and I was jealous. I had been sedated for the C-section because of back problems so I didn't even see or feel my daughter being born. I honestly thought she had been switched. I spent 5 month with her in a special mother-child psychiatry because of post-partum depression and it didn't help that my daughter was so white. When my twins were born with a darker skin, I was relieved. The thing my white-skinned daughter notices as a difference between her and others is that because of me, she tans faster and doesn't get sunburned so fast, which make her friends jealous of her. Meanwhile my girls are all adolescents and I have a great bond with each of them. I know that they will most probably have a white partner, simply because of where we live, and that's okay, nothing wrong with that. As long as that partner makes my daughter happy, I don't care what he looks like. I just hate it that people think that we would prefer a white partner. It's people like you who are the problem.

All skin colors are beautiful. Super dark, albino, vitiligo, the whole spectrum of different skin colors and the beauty that comes with them inside and out. There was an ad in an old Deadline UK magazine with an albino woman that to this day I will still go back and look at. So pretty.
I hope her date turns into something serious, and he is good for her. He seems like a great person! She's not a freak, she is an attractive young lady; who most importantly seems to have a great personality! Hopefully, he can introduce her sister to a nice young man!

I'm lucky to have been exposed to so many types of people growing up that nothing is weird or surprising to me anymore when it comes to human beings and all the different shapes,sizes and colors we come in.. They would've fit in perfectly with my crew of misfits 🤣

Yes albinism and vion problems go hand in hand and most albinos wear prescription glasses and sunglasses because they're eyes are very sensitive
