This is a real movie ! Not only were the fight scenes good but there was a great anti-drug message as well. I grew up in a neighborhood were I saw first hand how drugs destroyed people's lives and families. It doesn't matter what race you are, there is no color line when it comes to addiction and death. Excellent kung fu flick, shaw did it again.

It really beats that theme over the head tbh but I love the film.

This movie had some crazy good fight scenes and was better than your average shaw bros films.

Please drop a line and tell me what you think about this movie (or the trailer).
This Shaw was a pleasant surprise for me. Top performance from Ti Lung.

This movie is amazing. Drops many lessons on life and discipline. But also has amazing acting scenes courtesy of Tang Chia. And the beginning gives me serious crouching tiger vibes. I wonder if this was a stylistic influence on Ang Lee?

Ang Lee is pretentious and wouldn't see the merit in old school Fu, his mistake. There are a ton of SB and Indie masterpieces, you just had to look past the clunkiness and rough edges.

@@Grandmastergav86 the rooftop fight in the beginning of Opium and the Kung Fu Master is very reminiscent of the rooftop fight in Crouching Tiger. Did you forget Ang Lee directed Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon(arguably the best kung fu film of the 2000s?)?
