    It's a 2N, the access holes in the doglegs to access the grille bolts, and the oval shaped radius arms are features of a 2N. 9Ns had no access holes in the doglegs and had I-beam style radius arms. The early 2Ns, 42 to 44 and half had the I-beam style, my early '44 has the i-beam sytle. The access holes in the doglegs and the oval shaped radius arms were carried over to the 8Ns when they came out.
    It does seem to run good. Nice tractor. If you ever restored it, the 2N (as well as the 9Ns) came out of the factory gray. From what I heard when the 8Ns started to hit the dealers in late '47, Ford sent the dealers red and light gray paint so the dealers could paint their remaining 2Ns the 8N colors. I'm not sure if that's true or just a myth, but it sounds reasonable.
