I lived a long period of my life with Sentenced playing in Loop on my mp3...This helped me a lot for not explode and make some stupid thing. I discovered them in 2005, the year they broke up : / ! I will never see them in a Live, and they are still my Favorite Band : ( ... Rest In Peace Miika.

I liked their early melodic death metal stuff and their more modern stuff, all amazing.

RIP Mikka. :( @firewindwiki they are two separate bands each with their own music with virtues to recommend it. Helsinki breeds that dark melodic sound... HIM started as a Black Sabbath cover band but signed to a label that pushed them to market to women. Demos, Overdrive & Venus Doom make it clear HIM can play metal.

I heard of them since the early 2000's or so, so many Finish bands that I listen to mentioning them or paying homage to them, but I never got around to listening to their music until last week...WOW!! what a loss for the world! I liked their early melodic death metal stuff and their more modern stuff, all amazing.
Try to give a go for bands called Poisonblack and S-Tool, those were the bands formed after Sentenced with Laihiala singing the vocals.
