This is the game that cemented Naughty Dog as the GOATs. When this game was first released I had never played a game with such amazing cinematic action and direction. The massive improvement to this from the first game was insane back in the day, truly one of the best games ever made.
Yeah dude, it's easy to look at this today and just see a "standard cinematic action game", but this game basically paved the road for everyone game that came after it. Even current-gen games like God of War: Ragnarok are pulling from Uncharted 2's design methodology. When this game came out it was a cultural phenomenon. The sheer level of quality, combat design, and cinematic cohesion had just never been done so well before.
too bad Intergalactic is going to ruin all of that hard work
@@Slothhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lmfao nope, another masterpiece incoming you have no idea what you are talking about
@@powermaxx11 The irony of criticising someone for jumping to conclusions at the same time you lable something a 'masterpiece' while having nothing but a single trailer to judge by. 😂
@@Scyth0r It's called 'reputation' which Naughty Dog has earned because every new Naughty dog game that has released since Uncharted 2 have all been masterpiece GOTY contenders, what have you chuds proven about Naughty Dog? Nothing, because the facts and reality of Naughty Dog's past amazing work speaks for itself, nothing you say or do will change the fact that the majority of people will expect Intergalactic to be another masterpiece.
Uncharted 2 is SO UNCHARTED. It's peak, as the kids say.
That introduction is such a classic, so uncharted!
When I say this one game changed the entire industry, I’m not even joking.
In what way
@@AdamDawson3 I've played many consoles and Uncharted 2 is that one game for me that set the table for the future of gaming !!! It feel more like a movie you're playing in more than just a simple game with short cutscenes and rambling a story !!! You fell attached to the character in the game something I never experienced before
Uncharted 2 Among Thieves won Game of the Year in 2009.
And it's the reason Naughty Dog and Sony are the "cinematic and story-driven" companies that are today.
2009 was such a good year for videogames: Batman Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed 2, COD Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age Origins...
@@b.u.l.1734I disliked the direction naughty dog went with The last of Us even though I liked the game, I preferred the action adventure Uncharted series and its tone. I hope they evolve with their new game and beyond.
@@BeUgLo97-ti9rj Demon's Souls ;)
@@BeUgLo97-ti9rj brings back so many memories
J.J. Abrams was so impressed with this game that he cast Nolan North (Nathan Drake) in a speaking cameo in Star Trek: Into Darkness (as a bridge officer on the Excelsior). It would be the start of his Star Trek journey that includes Lower Decks and Picard (where he gets to, if perhaps only briefly, command the Excelsior of that era).
59:43 If you look down you do see the guard swim away. What gets me though is why doesn't he scream on the way down? He gets pulled off a ledge and what just resigns to his fate. "Oh! I had a good run. No need to alert anyone to me potentially falling to my death."
Or perhaps he was still in shock because he didn't see that coming.
Uncharted 2 and 4 are the best ones in the series imo
I would say 2 and 3, but I also never played 4. But I have spent hours in both parts' online modes, which is also the reason why with regards to that, I preferred 3: Because of the many ways in which you could style your character.
@@oliverbender3764You should play 4. It's about as perfect a bow as can be tied on the franchise.
@@pigs18 I believe you, and I think I even watched a playthrough once years ago, because I remember that I didn't like the setting of Nate as a family man all that much, even though it makes sense. (In the end, he won't become younger, and had to eventually become incapable of that monkeying through the jungle and abandoned temple sites while being caught in a gauntlet) But nowadays, I lack the time to play video games due to my new hobby, which is writing and researching. The day before I compiled additions to my reading list on the history of Cambodia, and it's about a dozen books in addition to a pre-existing list of dozens of books. I wished I could read as fast as those booktok folks who read up to 10 books per month, it could greatly boost my work. But as it is now, I have no space to put playing Uncharted 4. Hence, I resort to watching videos like this. :D
@@oliverbender3764 I hear you. I ran a playthrough of Last of Us Part II in the background while working from home because I didn't have time or interest in playing Joel & Ellie's Murder Adventure again but enjoyed the story. (It lost me when I had to backtrack to kill an oblivious victim just to trigger the line of dialouge that would let me climb onto a damn bus.)
Hopefully you enjoy Julia's playthrough when she gets there.
@@pigs18 That sounds weird indeed, unnecessary at all. It would have made more sense if they had that zombie reappear after the dialogue was finished, thus obliging you to kill it because you would perhaps die if you didn't.
I have avoided paying any attention to TLOU because I thought that the timing could only mean that Naughty Dog wanted to jump onto the bandwagon of zombie-based/post-apocalyptic games when the genre started trending. Perhaps I did it wrong, it seems to be more than just a "money-grabber".
🤩. Oh yes! I absolutely love this game! So much nostalgia. I remember playing this in my bedroom on 65 HD t.v. at the time having my "French Vanilla coffee playing this game all day. I actually played this first,so I never knew "Elena existed and things was so different back then. I remember getting my first PS3 and the guy behind the counter put this and "God of War 3 on the counter and said these are the most popular games we have. I've been loving it every since. I beat it in 7 hours. I felt like I was I just finished aa major summer blockbuster movie. I can't wait to experience this with you "Julia♡👏🏽
My favorite of the series and one of my favorite games of all time
Next bit is one of the greatest E3 demos of all time 😮
Quick note on Uncharted 2. It won GOTY in 2009 with all outlets and was singlehandedly responsible for saving the PS3 console as a heavy hitter exclusive for Sony. It is such a good game and one of my favorites of all time. Hope you enjoy it.
Well that’s not true 😂. PS3 was outselling the 360 every year since release besides I think 2008 where I think the 360 outsold ps3 by like 100k units. Obviously having exclusives as huge as this definitely helped keep it outselling, but it didn’t “save” it. And if you want to say it did, it definitely didn’t do it single-handedly. But it sure helped continue to drive sales
Julia was not ready for Chloe
Ah Chloe, what a goddess!
I feel like this game was groundbreaking. It was the first time that I couldn't tell the difference when a solution scene ended and the gameplay started
Been playing games since 1990, this is one of the best games of all time and maybe in my top 10 or top 12. In my opinion , this was also the game that brought the momentum for PS3 to finally surpass the Xbox 360 during its generation after Xbox 360 had been winning for the 3-4 years prior .
I love Uncharted 2
Missed this one so I’m catching up over here, what a start, this is going to be so fun to watch. That was some great shooting Julia
Uncharted 2 was ND first masterpiece & my favorite game of all time until uncharted 4 topped it in 2016, this series will always be special to me.
1:03:49 "I know [Chloe], like, way better than you do."
I've seen her on 'FarScape', and 'Pitch Black', and 'Stargate SG1'
This is my favorite video game. It changed games forever too.
This one is really good.
An FYI: there's an Uncharted comic book set before the first game that includes characters from this game, it's worth a read
You'll love the 4'th game in this series. It's the stealthiest by far.
Its also the easiest
@@AdamDawson3 So much fun tho
33:08 . Sweet inzurguri kick. Don't forget to use triangle to block. Run a use square dive on ppl from up above.
One of the best action adventure games ever.
This is the best Naughty Dog game and one of my Top 5 Favorite Games of All Time.
Uncharted 3, Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy are my favourite games in the franchise, Uncharted 2 has the best story of all the games, Uncharted 1 is the hardest game in the franchise.
Let's go! 😍
Still one of the greatest openings to a game ever. And Chloe, oh my, the mighty Chloe, oofffff!!!!!! Still only a hair between this and Uncharted 4 as the best games, but I might just edge this one as I love the Nepal setting especially.
Game is pure cinema.
2:05:44. Propane tanks are fantastic. You can just throw it in the enemies faces and explode them. Soon as you throw it just shoot it will automatically aim and explode it .👍
Uncharted 2 blow my mind first time i played it and still amazing to this day playstation exclusives changed the gaming world forever
46:22 "Uhh, don't mind me sir...contact lens"
Fun episode "Julia. This is awesome 😃👍
I have never seen someone make this simple stealth look so weird. Climb in the fountain and walk up behind the guy and press then get the treasure. Walk up behind every enemy and just press square. What was all that.🤗
This intro was amazing to experience
This is the best one in the franchise, and in my opinion, it's not even close. I really enjoy the other games in the franchise too.
Uncharted 3 is the best in the franchise
@@AdamDawson3 Fair opinion. I would put it as second, then one and then four. Only because I didn't really like some elements of the story of Uncharted 4. Lost Legacy is a good spinoff game, but I just consider it separate from the Nathan Drake Uncharted games.
@@stonecoldku4161 I don't consider Lost Legacy as a spin off but I respect your opinion
@@AdamDawson3 Thank you. And I respect yours as well.
In my opinion, Uncharted 2 was the best storywise, whereas I loved the third part the most for the multiplayer part.
Nice!! Straight into it!
This game is a hell of a ride! Really enjoyed this game; Naughty Dog's masterpiece.
yes Uncharted 2, the greatest game ever made
Julia_tv your video and your game it's so amazing ❤!
The graphics still hold up to this day
15:52 "They have chemistry."
Who doesn't Claudia Black have chemistry with?
This is so Uncharted
I miss when Naughty Dog were this good. Amy Hennig is an absolute legend and true pioneer in gaming.
Hi Julia grettings from Poland and good luck with uncharted2
This is still the best game ever made for me
I weep for present-day naughty dog
My first one (I played all of them) and gotta say, my favotrite as mush as the 4th.
Did I hear you correctly in that stream when you mentioned you are considering the Kingdom Hearts series? 👀 That’s gonna be something. I guess it makes sense since now you became a Final Fantasy fan. 😉 You seem like the kind of person that carefully decides games that you might have sincerest interest to play or have enough enjoyment. It’s a good thing you made yourself established as a fan of FF beforehand. Not that it’s a necessity. But, I’m sure you heard of what KH is known for. Hopefully you enjoy. 🤞
Yes I hope she does!!!
@ 🤞😄🤞
Great game, is amazing :)
Marco! . Polo! 🤭
Hey this is the best uncharted game
Nate is Always in trouble
Greatest game made.
Damn it feels good seeing "Chloe again.
5:36 she said the thing!
2:01:16 Lethal Weapon reference.
The game still looks decent after all these years!
Legendary game
I miss Amy Hennig...
“Uncharted 2: Among Thieves”
*Uncharted Intensifies*
it's been almost 50 years, still with the turkish prison thingy 18:38.. the movie midnight express was a huge propaganda, turkish prison isn't quarter bad as us prisons
42:45. Ok she's kinda got it now. And yes they are so stupid.😉👍
53:48 😂
I know you're wondering where the heck Elena is right now🙄😂
Hey 👋 how are you Julia?
@@tobitroyer9429 hey doing well, thank you!!
Amazing game but you ain’t seen nothing yet til you play Uncharted 4.
Ah, the real sauce.
bela transmiçao
BTW. I hope you're feeling better.
❤
Good afternoon Lulia
1:55:28 . 😂
I thought part 1 was very solid. The worst part was the end. To me, it lacked imagination and gave the player virtually no options for completion. Hopefully, this installment improves upon that.
Uncharted 2 is an improvement over Uncharted 1 in every single way.
Don't worry, this game is phenomenal and VERY creative ending
Don't forget to pet any animals you see
Ciaoo!!
I got this rhe day it came out WHAT A FUCKING GAME. this put naughty dog on the map not the last of us
What? Literally all of Naughty Dog’s IP’s have been absolute hits. Crash Bandicoot, their first IP, put them on the map. And so did Jak and Daxter after that. However I will say that Uncharted pushed them up the ladder of best Dev studios of all time by an ASS load. But it’s not like they weren’t known before Uncharted. They had always been known 😂
This is when games really started to overuse yellow paint as a waypoint.
Chloe>Elena
See why naughty dog receives hate how? They used to do cool, sounds and yet attractive female characters in their games... Not that nonsense they did with TLOU2 and now that space shit they're doing...
Or you could get over yourself.
TLOU2 was a great game bro. People just can’t get over what happened to Joel. And their new game isn’t even out yet you can’t judge it yet. Considering basically every single game ND has ever dropped has been a BANGER, there’s literally zero reason to expect their new game to not be great too. Now it’s very possible it may not be, but considering ND’s track record which is almost perfect, jumping to a conclusion like that is asinine
@@TheJerseyNinja assume my ass. You think all this essay negative reviews here on TH-cam came off from nothing? Still one of the most hated games and FFS stop with the fake narrative "oh they hate it because Joel died" because it's not that. Joel dying could've been a great moment but they blew it. And that's not the only problem
@@CYB3R2K not a fake narrative. That’s literally what fuels most of the hate for the game. If you disconnect yourself from that and replay it, it’s a great game. Is it flawless otherwise? No. Never said it was. But there’s a reason it won GOTY and many, many, MANY other awards as well. WAY more people loved the game than hated it. And while most of the hate for it stems from how Joel’s death was done, at the end of the day it’s a piece of media. It’s not going to be for everyone. No piece of media is ever going to be liked by everyone. And many people are going to hate things for different reasons that are perfectly valid for them. But logically speaking, considering most people love the game, and the fact it won GOTY and received hundreds of other awards, it’s not a bad game. But to you, and to others, in your opinion it is. Which is valid. But to be that close minded to say it’s a shit game just because you don’t like it, vs saying it’s obviously a great game, you just personally didn’t like it, considering how again the majority of people liked it and the fact it won GOTY and more, is crazy. Also calm down a bit bro you’re getting so heated over this 😂
@@TheJerseyNinja dude dragon age inquisition won goty... That award is worthless propaganda and no that gameplay isn't amazing either, it overall is a lesser version of the gameplay of better games like splinter cell conviction that came years before. The only good thing going for it is the pretty graphics. The narrative is all wrong, following characters you a. Don't care about or b. The game failed to introduce correctly since it stupidly keeps jumping back and forth in the timeline so who cares about who dies.
Barely playing this now huh?
❤
