How to find and repair the coolant leakage in a car | antifreeze leakage ( alto lxi )

- In this video you will learn how to find and repair the leakage of the cooling system in any car.First of all you need to be sure by checking the radiator and coolant reservoir , if they are empty then it means you have a leak in the cooling system. Now to find out the leakage you first need to fill the radiator with water and check under the car or any water drops dripping, if you still don't see anything then press the hose pipes and it might give enough pressure to reveal the faulty part and sometimes this still not help in that case you might need to start the engine to build of some pressure and the water will leak .
If you saw water dripping out from the bottom of car then note from which side its coming down as it narrow the search . The leakage may be from a bad hose, loose clip or hose, faulty parts,due to gaskets. If you have leakage from the water inlet cap side then you need to open air filter assembly and the intake manifold .
Once you done that see whats went wrong and from were the leakage is happening, then repair or replace the faulty parts and before reassembling everything back fill the radiator with water again and check for the repair is a success or not. If everything is fine and the problem is solved then reassemble everything back and run the engine for 5 to 10 min to check the repair paid of plus everything assembled correctly or not .
In the end flush the water and clean the radiator or cooling system the fill the right amount of coolant and distill water in it

Its very helpful...Recently I have went to Mechanic and shown the all coolant is gone engine is too heated..and he said half engine work to be done....and i don't know what to do
if you have driven the car without coolant and the car gets over heated plus you saw some smoke from the bonnet then first the head gasket will be burned which need to be replaced and if the leakage it self is done from the gasket then you might need the full engine work , even tho if you driven in over heat condition then there might be some other parts of engine get effected , which can only be found after open up the engine head
I have also coolant leak issue with tata Nexon xm diesel. Machanic said that we have to open engine head to check Elbow. Is it correct?
sir as you can see i have to open intake manifold , so maybe in your case engine head needs to be removed to check the cooling system lines and elbows

Thanks for explanation....i have same issue in my Alto 800.....coolant level is not decreasing but i have seem some drops of coolant at driver side near Dynamo.....when i went to garrage he said water pump would be changed...what do you suggest....coolant drops are visible only when i run car for 200 km continously else leakage is not visible....i can only feel coolant leakage when i rub cloth near driver side Dynamo motor .....next service is due in 6 months.
well you have to check properly to find out the place of problem , it could be because of a faulty hose clip , or may be something else and may be from water pump

there is a water leak in my alto near the engine stick (at the back of the engine) we are not sure if that is the water pump. can you help identify?
yes at that place water pump is situated , so the problem is definitely from there

Hi Sir. Thanks for the video. I have 5 speed Maruti 800. Coolant is getting leaked from the hollow structure which is beside the big hose pipe which you changed. Do i need to go for engine work?

Even in thumbnail of this video it is visible. It's right side of hose pipe inlet.
have you seen the full video ?? , i didn't only change the hose pipe , on the right side there is hole where knowing senor sits and if you getting leakage from there then engine block is cracked and if you referring to other side then its the part of the same part that i replaced , watch video carefully and you will know
@@SAIREPAIR Thanks for your response. I watched full video. Yesterday I referred user manuals and identified name is "core plug" from which coolant is leaking. I am thinking of using M-seal for fixing the leakage. Please let me know if you have any suggestion on using sealent. M-seal is better or any other sealent for fixing that.
@@deepakdeepu2770 well m seal won't gonna hold when engine gets hot , so better to either use a sealant that withstand high temperature or you can replace the core plug for permanent solution

if there is no leakage in coolant system then first inspect your engine oil if its color is different then you might install the head gasket wrong , if thats not the case then check for leakage in coolant system

have you watch the video ?? , i explained that point in the process of finding out the leakage point , you might have a leakage at one of the hose end due to either a faulty hose of its faulty clip , as car started and gets heat up the pressure inside the cooling system rises and if it gets a way to leak out it definitely will

How to identify coolant leakage
mostly green color coolant is used or if its too old then it will be just like water , if green fluid or water is dripping from the vehicle then that coolant leak , first check the reservoir if the coolant level is low then check for stains , rust or residue near radiator cap , hoses or water pump area and in some case as shown in video near the engine block ( inlet or outlet caps) , if you found any then it mean coolant is leaking from that particular area , if not and coolant still decreasing in the reservoir then it might gets leaked into the engine due to blown head gasket
