Man, never hold the chainwith one hand and the remote with the other making tests; I almost lost a finger in a mind mistake, my finger was pulled to the windlass along the chain and its tip got trapped by the chain and Windlass. Ended with a broken finger, however I ca say I was very lucky! The finger could have been cut off. by the chain or by the doctor if any finger joint gets smashed :(
I just bought a boat, and it's the first time I'm dealing with a windless. After disassembling it I had that same issue that you had by the end of the video (12:50), where the motor would release chain but won't take it back up... You don't show in the video what you did to solve that. Can you give me some idea on this?
Intensely irritating because of the extraneous noise through doing the job at anchor. Which in itself is crazy. No sign that the bearings have been attended to. Dangerous practice holding onto the chain and operating the motor. I would much rather that Lofrans posted a proper video of their own as to both the use and service of their product.
Thank you for presenting the correct procedure of cleaning of our product!
Best regards,
Lofrans’ Team
Any time!
Thank you for the video. I have benefited greatly.
Glad it was helpful!

Can you use any kind of marine grease or must it be lithium grease?
