We stopped at the American Pickers shop a few years ago. My English Bulldog, Churchill, peed right in the middle of the door of the old car out front. Churchill claimed that car as his own with no hesitation. Lol They loved him and my female Bulldog, Sofie.

Have you ever hit the bottom of the river with the water being so low ??? I know you stay in the deep water . But it could happen just wondering?? I’m glad to see you back on the vessel on your new videos on Saturday and Sunday. I have always wanted to work or take a trip on a tugboat. I think it would be really interesting. Yes. Bumping bottom is definitely a thing, specifically on locking rivers, more specifically Upper Mississippi and Illinois Rivers where the bottom is close to the top quite often. It’s been a while since I have (knocking on wood). Last times I can remember have been in known areas of Upper Mississippi that were just bump and go, with no damage. Basically shoving over lumps type situations.

@@marktwained How often or do you get up to the Quad Cities or further north to Lock 10 in Guttenberg, IA? When I still had family to visit I would spend hours on the observation decks watching the towboats.
I don’t have a regular run or boat. I am a “go anywhere” type wheelman by choice. That said, yes I run all way to end of navigating in St. Paul. In past 10 years I probably have gone up that far about once a season.. give or take. There was a year I spent most of it on upper end of Upper Mississippi , then didn’t see it for another two years. Basically it varies quite a bit.
Most all of us working on the boats have had that experience. I’m mostly in climate controlled wheelhouse nowadays. I will always recognize and appreciate what deck crew do. I know what type of human it takes to do that work. A good deck crew makes my job easy. I agree with you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Usually company name or symbols on flags that we have on bow tow knees. Usually have larger one center of leading barge as well. They help with visual of wind speed and direction as well.
