    A quick backstory on this video- I happened to be in Nashville hanging out with Lucc (Dobro Player) when she meet Gabe, on a local hiking trail of all places. When he invited her to do this video they had hardly played together at all, most of this is improvised and one take. Gabe is a huge talent and of course he brought that in spades but what I love about this video is how it shows what talent really is with musicians...how to listen to each other in real time and create in real time. Also go out and meet someone...you never know who you may end up playing with :)

      You can start playing any time! Even if you're not the most creative person in the world, playing music unlocks something in you no matter the skill level. IMO, everyone should have to at least take beginner lessons on some instrument. Having the internet at your fingertips you can learn anytime. Just get a 100$ squire strat starter pack from Guitar Center.

      I can't wait til we get to a point where that doesn't matter to anyone.

    • @Essex626
      @Essex626 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@StephenLewisful "doesn't matter" shouldn't be the goal and expectation here. People's background matters in the art they produce, and it's perfectly fair to be interested in that. "Not viewed as a barrier or thing to look down on" is the goal.
      This is something I'm personally really interested in as a Country fan of Asian-American ancestry. There's really not a lot of Country musicians who share my background (probably because Asian-Americans remain mostly concentrated in urban areas on the coasts).

    • @StephenLewisful
      @StephenLewisful ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Essex626 Agreed. I guess "doesn't matter" is a poor choice of words but I mean more closely to what you are saying.
      If ya just here him on the radio it's good music. However, if you see that he's Asian, Oh my god, it's still good music.🙂
      I see your point now though that his story, like any other artist, is probably a good one and being Asian is indeed, a part of it.
      Being White, I've never had to call myself a Caucasian-American and so the term (fill in the blank)-American has always bothered me. It's sets the tone of, a primary American and a secondary American and that bothers me.
      People that see race as you and I do are the good ones.
