I'm convinced Blizzard just doesn't like Rein being hard meta. Notice how the second Mauga was nerfed they reverted it. The second Orisa is bad she gets buffs the next patch. I've always believe that a character like rein who has a high floor needs skills that are incredibly difficult for low-elo players to pull off but can only be mastered by high elo players. My biggest suggestion has been giving rein a parry, idk how the keybinds would work for it but giving rein a parry with small frames where he can either fully negate damage or reflect the shot back within a 0.3 second frame would reward high elo players for having skill in timing but at the same time not making rein too strong in metal ranks because they wouldn't be able to use the ability properly. At best they would get a lucky parry her and there.
As a GM1 Rein, I think this is exactly the way to go. I still pride myself on my little tech I learned on how to perfectly cut off a Sombra from ever hacking me (juggling my shield every 50 ms or so). I'd like to see more niche techs like this similar to ball techs.
Also, as Surice said, Rein def has a low skill floor, but certainly a higher skill ceiling than may seem. On second thought, perhaps every tank requires more skill than may seem. I’d assume they require on average more inputs than the other roles.
I think the parry should be implemented into his shield, so it rewards players for using it effectively to block high burst damage by having the first 0.5s or so to completely negate incoming damage. Would make it better to block D.Va bomb and then still have shield health left to endure the rest of the team fight. Would also help as an incentive to not shield bot chokes and to use cover effectively
In my experience, it's easy to roll D.va's as Mauga. As for Doomfist, my games tend to have my team all really close together, so he's usually easy to deal with as Mauga as well.
I find Dva isn't the best counter to Mauga but it's a great tank to just avoid him and also support your dps who are trying to shred him either by blocking his bullets or the heals he is receiving
From the games I’ve played, though I agree D. VA isn’t the greatest counter to Mauga, I (someone who mains D. VA) find it relatively easy for D. VA to switch playstyles to work around Mauga to defeat him. If D. VA sits there ant eats damage, then there’s no way her DM can take everything. But if she’s active, making space between tank and supports, and focusing on prime targets, leading them to uncomfortable environments, though the games may be long, she can absolutely whittle down what Mauga has to work with, and it can sometimes be fun.
I think rein could use some quality of life things. i could see pin being more magnetic in the sense that you get rid of those weird interactions were you boop them up or sideways. I also think the pin should be invulnerable to bring it in line with what mauga can do. The rein could then use it as an escape without getting burned down.
I think making his charge immune to cc like Mauga, and have some damage reduction so it lets the player have the option to use charge to close space and not get heavily punished for it and not have to spend up so much of their shield health.
If charge would be immune to cc the pin can't be a one shot. They would have to lower the damage to 145 or something or otherwise Rein just gets a free pick every 8 seconds
@@ingoseiler for sure that would need to be tuned down. I still feel landing an ult and being able to charge and secure a pick should be allowed, so around the creep of 150 damage or so
I still think a good Rein change is reduce the cast delay of his fire strike just a wee bit to make it feel more responsive, and a faster animation for charge wind up but reduuce the width of rein charhe hit box. So you can be surprised with a fast rein charge but the rein has to be accurate with it.
The problem with Rein will always be that he will usually be viable in low elos where you just get a Lucio and Ana and dog walk the uncoordinated teams that don't counter etc. Meanwhile he struggles against the good tanks and better coordination in higher ranks. Rein in metal ranks is still really good, and knowing Blizzard they see win rates and say oh look Rein must be doing pretty good he doesn't need anything meanwhile anything mid Diamond and up and he gets shat on.
Rein dominates low Elo because people all play low ground frontline. And have no sense of danger so they don't walk away from an approaching Rein. They are like deer on a highway, staring at front lights.
Yep, Rein is like the reaper of tanks. In low ranks where everyone is uncoordinated and out of position its easy to get close but once people learn how to deal with that you just get punished extremely easily.
I never had any desire to do anything besides quick play, but I still really love watching Flats talk about this stuff. I think he breaks down these things very well and interestingly, if he reads this I hope he’s having a good day and keep up the good work
I've heard the Reinhardt/Bap Balance Story so often from Flats now, even thos i played at that time myself, i feel like Grandpa is telling me some old war storys everytime now.
Rein lacks explosive options. That's what I believe. People just default to "6v6 would cure cancer", instead of fixing the issue of Rein being a punching bag with no explosive options as a solo. Characters like Ram and JQ have Nemesis and Shout as explosive defensive options, and they have vortex and Gracie as offensive "pile-on" options. Characters like Doom and Zarya have ways to get value for damage-negation, forcing the tempo to change if the enemy doesn't want to get punished. Rein lacks these options, his value relies on if his numbers or his team mates are right because he lacks actual concrete tools. Everything Rein is forces him to play a game where everyone is cheating and he has his hands tied behind his back. If you want him to work solo, give him an X-Factor. Even something small would pave the way for his resurgence, that's what I believe. P.S. Screw the metal ranks, us players should have to learn. As long as he's strong for the right reasons, Rein should be allowed to flex a little.
This is what rein needs: he needs to gain some ult charge from his shield being damaged and increased ult cost. This would penalize the enemy for shooting the shield and gives the rein more opportunities to actually play the game.
I like the clever timing of Flats saying “why blast through all your content at one time yk” right as the video ends even though there’s more footage 😂 tune back in tomorrow, folks
Coach Ocie’s video also came out several weeks ago before all the buffs to Mauga, back when he had less armor it was much more reasonable for Reinhardt’s shield to last long enough for his team to burst him down.
The problem with rien is he lacks an ability to negate a big income of damage. Ramatra/doom have block, Dva has DM, Sigma blackhole, orisa 2 abilities and so on. Once the shield is down that's basically it, you're done for. For half the tanks, that damage soak is then translated into extra potential, health, damage, or complete damage negation. JQ doesn't have that but she has a much smaller hitbox.
I've said for a while as someone who absolutely loves rein that the greatest stealth buff they could give him would be "All characters move 5% slower when walking backwards". literally my biggest gripe as rein is that someone can run away from the hammer while shooting me, and if I defend myself I'll never catch them!
Honestly with things like Rein charge and shatter (and maybe Doom punch since it feels like the same sort of rocket powered attack) have them be able to break mei walls and any turrets on contact. Just charge right on through them, even if it only breaks the two or three wall pillars it comes into contact with. It's not much but it feels like the kind of buff he needs without making him totally busted but to at least make him more playable in modern day overwatch...
I had a Chad rein a few days ago who would constantly create space and would get tons of kills and dmg. We absolutely rolled the enemy team, on kings row of all places!
5:18 I personally swapped to maining Queen when she came out, she has all the aspects of what I enjoy about Reinhardt, but she feels way better and enjoyable to play. I hate leaving my boy Rein behind, but he's just so unfun to play in most scenarios.
i think the biggest thing holding rein back isn't even rein, it's mei. she forces your attention onto her because it is impossible to kill anyone while she's alive, but then you cannot engage her because her entire purpose is to make engaging her your last mistake. the cc on her beam has to go, or at least be tied to an ability to give not just reinhardt but any tank a window to act. or they could not give the giant beam with the massive cc attached to it a giant ammo pool and 100 dps and attach it to one of the strongest ults in the game and one of the highest potential impact cooldowns. rein is like winston for brawl. he builds fundamentals and has some unique bits to put together, but winston's incredible engage/disengage and literal bubble of influence keep him extremely relevant at high ranks even among competition because they're so flexible. block sleeps, cut off healing, block ults, get angry. he's never more than six seconds from being a big problem. rein pushes this angle. it's dangerous in the right spot, with the right stuff behind him, but he's as big as nemesis ram but slower and he can't fight back so viciously. not to say he's garbage or unplayable, but he's exploitable in a way no other tank is. i say nerf mei before we buff rein. after that, look at shatter and look at charge before you look at anything else. strengthen his playmakers, not his default pressure, to keep him from getting too dominant in the metal ranks. hell, nerf barrier a little more if that's what it takes.
As one of the resident metal rank players placed firmly in bottom of gold, nobody is playing rein down here. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw one that didn't swap after the first fight. The common picks are Mauga, Hog, Orisa, Sig, and Ram followed by less common picks like Dva, Zarya, and JQ. Winston's are very few and far between (as a winston main it saddens me) and you might see a Doomfist/Ball once or twice a day. I can maybe count on one hand how many Reins I've seen this season so far.
it's sensible really. those two cause catastrophic brain damage but rein swings side to side, so he primarily hits your much stronger arms and torso buff rein by making him a whack-a-mole emthusiast
Rein buff: shatter takes just a little longer, like half a second longer. Every enemy that got shattered takes extra damage from Rein's attacks for the duration of the stun
Idk if this would be busted or not. But I think to give Rein more of a chance to build ult because it's harder for him to get close to hit and build charge. So considering it's called FIREstrike why not make it apply burn when it hits enemies. That way he can build up ult faster. Even tho shatter isn't that good anymore I think it would be helpful
4:00 you are correct but I will provide a counterpoint: if low ranks learn to adapt to the stronger/more balanced characters then it will improve the player base as a whole. Providing challenge to a player is the only way for them to improve. Low ranks are not an excuse for low/high ceiling characters being so dissonant. Allow more skill expression overall, a simple fade jump made Moira the most popular support on TikTok. Imagine if Rein had a better charge or shield bash or literally anything to express more skill than swing hammer hold shield.
I think two things for "fixing" Rien. 1 - fix charge so it's consistent. Or rework it so it's more like a charge up swing to throw people. 2 - rework his shield, give it cooldown like Winton bubble, so it can end without breaking, and orisa like fortify while it's active.
I think what could bring rein from the death in higher rank games would be that fire strike does a little more damage or do burning damage which wouldn’t happen but could fix rein limbo
i'm a doom one trick, who is normally around diamond 3, but i easily can play in friends' master lobbies, i recently somehow have gone back to high plat and am noticing so many reins compared to normal. And i'm dominating every rein, canceling almost every shatter. These players really love rein then once i slap them silly they swap orisa mauga zarya.
I like Reinhart, and I love the hero fantasy of the Old Knight. Honestly, he needs a rework, not necessarily to buff him, but to add some spice to his gameplay. He already got it in Trials Of Sanctuary; just adapt the divine armament and blazing strike for more normal play, and it's done. Divine Armament: Every swing of the hammer fires a mini FIRE STRIKE. For normal play, Hammer Swing has 50 damage, and the mini FIRE STRIKE has 25 damage. The project speed of the mini FIRE STRIKE is slightly faster than orisa javelin throw. Blazing Strike: FIRE STRIKE leaves a trail of fire that burns enemies. The fire strike now travels along the ground and creates a fire trail. You have 1 stack with 150 damage and a fire trail dealing 5 damage per second, lasting for 5 seconds. Additionally, make his charge unstoppable ;) .
theres never a problem with rein being meta because the rein mirror is the most fun mirror in the entire tank role, and if u cant take high ground or just know to play from far then u kind of deserve to lose u will learn eventually
The everything else affecting Reins fun level is so true. Played a match rein vs rein recently they had ana and Kiri and we had mercy Moira. We won but so many fights I'd be kicking their reins butt then Kiri would Tp and save him and my Moira would throw an orb but I'd just die because it didn't offer anywhere near the same value. 😭
Playing mauga I find sigma the most annoying to play against but people really overestimate his value thinking its a hard counter, sigma is really easy to hit with maugas jump knockdown so all you need to do is waste his shield by just firing into it and force him to use vortex which makes him super easy to hit with the knockdown, if he tries to rock instead you can charge straight through the rock since the charge is unstoppable although you wont get followup if your charge doesnt cancel his vortex. The thing that sucks is when they play super passive and far back but having one good dps with you and getting the knockdown off makes it an easy kill.
all reinhardt needs is either a way better sheild recharge rate, or even the ability to recharge his sheild while holding it up. Sure it might break him for a bit, but a single season where rein isn't getting shit on would be amazing
I’m currently in plat, but even when I was in gold, I rarely complained about Reinhardt. The only annoying thing about his kit is the inconsistency of pinning people in his charge. Like sometimes I could be at the peak of a double jump on Genji, but I feel like a magnet to the charge, but sometime when I play Reinhardt, I feel like everyone just randomly bounces off. But the only reason someone dies to a rein is because of bad positioning typically, but I don’t see people complaining about him in low ranks at all tbh
Ball and Rein are about the only two that have remained grossly unchanged since OW2 beta and like the old saying is if you slap on them you slap on them but the vast majority just can't get it done most of the time. Doom almost falls into the same realm but there it's always a matter of who's driving. I don't play tank anymore but playing rein lately when you're getting pocketed is kinda cracked it's so much fun. There's the fine line of numbers that they need to hover and Mauga is definitely a good benchmark for them to base an overall damage/tank/survive ratio going forward. Hi chat (:🤑
Tank Matchups for the 3 listed vs Mauga. Doomfist: One Phrase “SAN SE-KWA DEEKEE” (I know I probably butchered the spelling😂) Mauga Ult. COMPLETELY NEUTERS Doom and his abilities besides blocking. Plus like Flats said. If a Doom blocks during an engagement with Mauga, the second its up he does get CHUNKED Sigma: Probably the 2nd best Option behind Mauga himself. Can hold his own against Mauga…..for a time. The minute a concerted effort happens though, I’ve seen and have walked down Sigma’s as their burning all their cooldowns. Rein: Just…. Just bad. Yea it’s essentially Rein’s shield getting melted and if you haven’t chunked a Mauga before going for a Pin/ES. You are not leaving that engagement alive😂 Honorable mention: DVA: Not bad. DM does give her some survivability but similar to Sigma, only for a time. When the Samoan starts walking you down its a sight to see😂😂
The issue with Reinhardt is, that he is a melee character in a fps game. He will always be one extreme, either very oppressive or very weak in most situations. Rein is a defensive hero, so they should buff him in defense. A shield bash for example which throws enemies back and stuns them for a second or less. Maybe give him supportive abilities like Mauga has, like a tiny bit of overhealth for teammates, if they are close to him or a slight damage increase if a teammate shoots through his shield.
The part at 5:58 is so true. People look at stats and immediately assume that they HAVE to be the issue, but sometimes if someone has low kills and high deaths (like I tend to have with dps in plat), they’ll blame me, when in reality the supports have yet to heal me. I’ll be at 5 hp, they’ll be tunnel visioning the tank, and because they heal the tank their healing numbers are high. So then when I say “yo supports can you please heal me” they go “UhHh wdYm I have 5k heals” yeah…cuz you’ve had your ofuda stuck in the maugas ass the whole game. I hate when people immediately jump to “oh this person sucks”. Have you tried enabling them? Have you made sure they got the support they need? Overwatch is now a constant blame game if you lose. Same with tanks. “Ohhh, tank difffff” No, you aren’t playing the right comp to 1. Support me, and 2. Counter the enemies. That is not a tank diff, that is a support diff.
High deaths and low kills is your fault. You should be at a neutral KD at worst. I play lots of genji, I need to be able to get kills without healing and then retreat and disengage for healing or a health pack. I rely on health packs more than supports. It is not the supports job to heal you while you sit in main LOS and die. Go get a health pack or retreat to a spot where can't get killed. And get kills before you die. If you aren't getting kills to match your deaths its a you problem.
@@vanc3794 genji has many more defensive abilities than the characters I play. I tend to play widow often, and if someone hits me from far away and I’m sitting at low health, than I’m forced to sit and wait for supports. If I have to get a health pack (which I shouldn’t have to rely on as a low mobility hero), it doesn’t matter either way, I’m forced out of the fight for a huge time period. Sometimes they get an easy burst on me right at the start, say for example a kunai headshot or perhaps a shot from another sniper. Genji is a bad character to compare with the characters I play. Sometimes they get a lucky shot and I need a quick burst of healing to reposition or grapple shot to kill them. Not to mention, if you have supports that have amazing save plays, you’re a whole lot more likely to get kills and overall win. Stop giving supports leeway for not doing half of their job. I’m sure even as genji, you would appreciate a save every now and then. I had a widow game where at the start I was 1-6. Wasn’t getting healed. Got dove 24/7, didn’t get any help. Eventually they started playing closer to me, healed me, ended with 36-8. No wonder.
Reinhart needs a parry attack. I think it’s crazy that he can’t hit anything back like a baseball even if it’s just like one projectile. Maybe even stopping some projectile ults like meis freeze and this is coming from someone who considered themselves a mei main
So, Rein is miserable to play and yet dominates low ranks because he's very non skill-reliant. How would we go about fixing these problems? A rework to raise Rein's skill floor and possibly skill ceiling would be necessary. I'll make some suggestions but anything can be changed. 1. Lower hammer swing damage to 75. 2. Create a new quick melee where Rein jabs an opponent with the bottom of the hammer, and landing a quick melee reduces the swing interval of hammer for a second or so. This way, Reinhardt is weaker when mindlessly holding down left click and walking forwards, but has a 105 damage combo that sets up even more rapid damage if pulled off successfully. 3. Reduce fire strike to 90 or even 80 damage, but add a burn effect. 4. Reduce the maximum distance of charge to like 2/3 or 3/4 of the current distance, but reduce its cooldown by a few seconds. Burn on firestrike would allow Rein to apply a little more pressure at range with consistent damage over time, and also aid duels by effectively lowering the amount of heals per second the other tank would receive. Making charge a more low-cost ability means Rein players are more likely to use it more often in fights, rather than just as a mobility or assassination tool. 5. Lower barrier health to 1000, but make blocking a set amount of damage with your barrier charge up some form of buff elsewhere in your kit. Maybe overhealth, or extra hammer damage, or CC resistance in charge. 6. Add 50 armor health to health pool. These should reward being more aggressive and tanking with armor, while nerfing the static, shieldbotting playstyle that makes Rein unfun to play as and against.
All I’m saying about rein is I remember flats saying Moira is a good character design because she facilitates bad players well, she is a good beginner character. So if that happens to rein it sounds like you’re a victim of your own design philosophy.
I dunno, I was playing support in a Rein duel recently and the enemy team's DPS went Mei/Bastion. My tank typed that the Rein mirror is cancelled because of this, to which the enemy Rein simply typed "fair enough". So I think any reasonable person would understand that the duel doesn't count in that situation. Typing tank diff in that situation is such a self report fr
Rein doesn't need a rework, the main issue with Rein is outside of him, just like Flats said the issue is the insane power creep in the game right now, the shot time Rein takes down the shield to do anything he is blown away or CC to death, if not then is shield is melted by focus fire. If Blizz does an overall nerf to the damage in the game , you will see Rein suddenly get much better.
I still think they could do a QOL change that wouldn't make him a menace like more steadfast like he had for a bit or bring back 1 frame shielding etc.
I feel like if they turned his charge into more like maugas and gave him 2 he’d be in a pretty good spot. Or just increase the travel speed of fire strike
My tank buddy, who is Rienhardt main, only uses Rien against mauga on maps where he can charge him off the map. That is our tactic and it only kinda works XD. Rein is not a tank to use against the big Samoan Man.
Imagine if reins firestrike was able to bounce once like you aim it down lane and it bounced off the wall and comes back dealing it's damage 2 times. should allow for more optrunity for burst, even then his ult should make an arc of thunder lasting a few seconds for more damage past his stun.
"Rein would destroy the metal ranks." So what? Balance top down. If someone can only sail by on a 'strong' character and they have no skill or flexibility, without getting decent at tracking ults or abilities, coordination, timing, whatever else, the instant they run into good players, those that are genuinely good, they will get shit on instantly. Rein being strong isn't bad, *FUCK* the metal ranks. They're in the metal ranks for a real, goddamn reason. They're bad. Extremely bad. If they weren't, they wouldn't need a Rein buff to climb. If they only climb because Rein gets buffed, they're going to get squished later.
In a vacuum, sure. But you're also not considering the vast majority of average players that don't play competitive and only play Quick Play, where this issue will be prevalent. Competitive isn't the entire game yo.
its not about people not being good enough to play smth else. its about a buffed rein basically being another mauga for them. it would be so ungodly unfun to play the game if ur not the best at it the game would drop so many players. balancing around a *git gud* mentality does not work for the average gamer.

I think rein could use some quality of life things. i could see pin being more magnetic in the sense that you get rid of those weird interactions were you boop them up or sideways. I also think the pin should be invulnerable to bring it in line with what mauga can do. The rein could then use it as an escape without getting burned down.
My thing is, why does Cass's grenade stop him from charging forward. It's so weird. 😅
I still feel landing an ult and being able to charge and secure a pick should be allowed, so around the creep of 150 damage or so
Maugas unstoppable charge is just powercreep, i REALLY hope they take that invincibility away because its ridiculous
I still think a good Rein change is reduce the cast delay of his fire strike just a wee bit to make it feel more responsive, and a faster animation for charge wind up but reduuce the width of rein charhe hit box. So you can be surprised with a fast rein charge but the rein has to be accurate with it.
Hearing "Ball is the worst Tank" was certainly not the take I expected to hear at 6AM this morning...
I typed this out before I finished the video lol Flats you said the exact same thing
This would penalize the enemy for shooting the shield and gives the rein more opportunities to actually play the game.
on lanch of ow1, we had this. it was overpowered as hell. punishing people for not letting rein exist for free is stupid
This guy calling him Ry-IN bugged the crap out of me
I like the clever timing of Flats saying “why blast through all your content at one time yk” right as the video ends even though there’s more footage 😂 tune back in tomorrow, folks
I want rein's charge to have a 90° turn. Just put his hammer in the ground to turn and maybe some damage reduction if he doesn't already.
REIN DRIFTING
Flats sitting with his back to the open door gives me anxiety
ngl I feel so bad for Rein Mains, as soon as he kills one person my entire team is Orisa Mei Bastion Zen😭
It's not much but it feels like the kind of buff he needs without making him totally busted but to at least make him more playable in modern day overwatch...
the rein yap was like more than half the vid lmao
"Why blast all your content at one time, you know what I mean?" *fades to end card*
Well done Editor.. well done
Dude writes a whole novel and video essay about why rein sucks and needs a buff
Flats: ✨No✨
Half of this video is one TikTok and I love that
I had a Chad rein a few days ago who would constantly create space and would get tons of kills and dmg. We absolutely rolled the enemy team, on kings row of all places!
9:46 simulator of saying "no" begins here
I can confirm this is a flats classix
Flats said that metal ranks is the reason he gets nerfs which yea ig but even in metal ranks he gets destroyed by an orisa and a Mauga
5:18 I personally swapped to maining Queen when she came out, she has all the aspects of what I enjoy about Reinhardt, but she feels way better and enjoyable to play. I hate leaving my boy Rein behind, but he's just so unfun to play in most scenarios.
Instead of letting metal ranks learn how to deal with rein they nerfed him.
I like Rien because I have poor vision, so aiming is hard with a bunch of characters. Makes sense with Flats explanation on why he can't be better
i think the biggest thing holding rein back isn't even rein, it's mei. she forces your attention onto her because it is impossible to kill anyone while she's alive, but then you cannot engage her because her entire purpose is to make engaging her your last mistake. the cc on her beam has to go, or at least be tied to an ability to give not just reinhardt but any tank a window to act. or they could not give the giant beam with the massive cc attached to it a giant ammo pool and 100 dps and attach it to one of the strongest ults in the game and one of the highest potential impact cooldowns.
rein is like winston for brawl. he builds fundamentals and has some unique bits to put together, but winston's incredible engage/disengage and literal bubble of influence keep him extremely relevant at high ranks even among competition because they're so flexible. block sleeps, cut off healing, block ults, get angry. he's never more than six seconds from being a big problem.
rein pushes this angle. it's dangerous in the right spot, with the right stuff behind him, but he's as big as nemesis ram but slower and he can't fight back so viciously. not to say he's garbage or unplayable, but he's exploitable in a way no other tank is.
i say nerf mei before we buff rein. after that, look at shatter and look at charge before you look at anything else. strengthen his playmakers, not his default pressure, to keep him from getting too dominant in the metal ranks. hell, nerf barrier a little more if that's what it takes.
I like how rein with his big hammer needs 3 hits at super close range to kill a squishy but kiriko and illari can 2 tap you across the map
it's sensible really. those two cause catastrophic brain damage
but rein swings side to side, so he primarily hits your much stronger arms and torso
buff rein by making him a whack-a-mole emthusiast
Rein’s power isn’t single target dps it’s aoe dps
Well rein can kill 80% enemy team with those 3 swings at the same time...
Rein buff: shatter takes just a little longer, like half a second longer. Every enemy that got shattered takes extra damage from Rein's attacks for the duration of the stun
Ball hasn’t been changed since his launch. Except needing his grapple.
What's hilarious is Rein actually did get changes for OW2. Ball got nothing except the hp buff as far as I'm aware.
If he gets that then his fs damage would be nerfed bc 100 dmg + the burn damage sounds insane
i think if the overwatch devs are not willing to change the dmg numbers, rein should get his 2000 shield hp back
@@toxicmeraki276no please that’s a terrible idea
@@MaryJane21406its not even that terrible idea. Shields suck ass. Rein sucks ass. Literally unplayable hero
@crazeemonnkee4161 not really. His shield gets shredded it 5 seconds and he can't hit with his shield up like sigma or rama can
"why blast all your contents at one time"
4:00 you are correct but I will provide a counterpoint: if low ranks learn to adapt to the stronger/more balanced characters then it will improve the player base as a whole.
You can barely even play Reinhardt in diamond because of how much he depends on his team. You can play perfect and still not win team fights
I think two things for "fixing" Rien.
1 - fix charge so it's consistent. Or rework it so it's more like a charge up swing to throw people.
2 - rework his shield, give it cooldown like Winton bubble, so it can end without breaking, and orisa like fortify while it's active.
Give him rage when his shield breaks
I think what could bring rein from the death in higher rank games would be that fire strike does a little more damage or do burning damage which wouldn’t happen but could fix rein limbo
Allow me to cook something evil here: allow rein swings to instantly shatter mei ice wall
i'm a doom one trick, who is normally around diamond 3, but i easily can play in friends' master lobbies, i recently somehow have gone back to high plat and am noticing so many reins compared to normal. And i'm dominating every rein, canceling almost every shatter. These players really love rein then once i slap them silly they swap orisa mauga zarya.
Don’t let the guy who made the Mauga counter pick one cook. Ever
“Why blast your content at one time” *ends video*
theres never a problem with rein being meta because the rein mirror is the most fun mirror in the entire tank role, and if u cant take high ground or just know to play from far then u kind of deserve to lose u will learn eventually
first flats video of the year for me.
you live in eastern europe im guessing
The everything else affecting Reins fun level is so true. Played a match rein vs rein recently they had ana and Kiri and we had mercy Moira. We won but so many fights I'd be kicking their reins butt then Kiri would Tp and save him and my Moira would throw an orb but I'd just die because it didn't offer anywhere near the same value. 😭
A mastery camo grind would be the only way to get FaZe Jev to play OW
Rein is the Genji of the Tank world
I’m currently in plat, but even when I was in gold, I rarely complained about Reinhardt.
If a Doom blocks during an engagement with Mauga, the second its up he does get CHUNKED
Sigma: Probably the 2nd best Option behind Mauga himself.
You are not leaving that engagement alive😂
Honorable mention: DVA: Not bad. DM does give her some survivability but similar to Sigma, only for a time. When the Samoan starts walking you down its a sight to see😂😂
Bro made 5 minutes of tiktoks into 15 mins
The issue with Reinhardt is, that he is a melee character in a fps game. He will always be one extreme, either very oppressive or very weak in most situations. Rein is a defensive hero, so they should buff him in defense. A shield bash for example which throws enemies back and stuns them for a second or less. Maybe give him supportive abilities like Mauga has, like a tiny bit of overhealth for teammates, if they are close to him or a slight damage increase if a teammate shoots through his shield.
As a ball main before OW2, can confirm that playing ball is no longer fun
Ngl reins biggest problem is the fact that most new hero’s counter him in some way
Reins biggest flaw is his lack of range right so as a solution I think we just need to make his hammer 3 times the size, big hammer go brrrr
8:54 is when he finally moves on from the first tiktok
Rein should have a spin to win ability. He just whirlwinds and sucks ppl in if they get caught in it.
Give rein blink! That that shit was the funnest gameplay ever
"The Sigma nerf was nothing" It definitely was. You have way way less shield uptime now.
The only stuff I want for Rein is his swing speed be a little faster.
Rein should have infinite low damage fire strikes just for him to do anything anywhere outside of close range
Every weird person on earth plays Overwatch
Happy New Year everyone and Flats🎉🎉🎉🎉
All I’m saying about rein is I remember flats saying Moira is a good character design because she facilitates bad players well, she is a good beginner character. So if that happens to rein it sounds like you’re a victim of your own design philosophy.
These titles are wild
I dunno, I was playing support in a Rein duel recently and the enemy team's DPS went Mei/Bastion. My tank typed that the Rein mirror is cancelled because of this, to which the enemy Rein simply typed "fair enough". So I think any reasonable person would understand that the duel doesn't count in that situation. Typing tank diff in that situation is such a self report fr
I have had success with JQ vs mouga. Having not unlocked mouga yet.
Rein should be able to shield charge combo, like in his cinematic.
If Mauga can be immune to literally any counter play to his charge rein should be able to put up his shield while charging
Happy new years Flats 🎉🎉🎉
honestly rein in metal ranks is really good so its understandable they wont buff him
I still think they could do a QOL change that wouldn't make him a menace like more steadfast like he had for a bit or bring back 1 frame shielding etc.
A "good" think at my perspective is if Rein got a fuel (like Pharah) in his charge ability so he could use whenever he wanted
I miss playing rein so much 😔 he is virtually unplayable in Masters 3...
I feel like if they turned his charge into more like maugas and gave him 2 he’d be in a pretty good spot. Or just increase the travel speed of fire strike
Ball/rainhart main ☠️
My tank buddy, who is Rienhardt main, only uses Rien against mauga on maps where he can charge him off the map. That is our tactic and it only kinda works XD. Rein is not a tank to use against the big Samoan Man.
just give rein a 2%-5% movement speed buff.
First dude got a rework, himself
Naaaahhhhhh that was a clever ass ending 😂 cause I get so annoyed that he doesn’t release just the full “TikTok” portion of the stream in one video instead of separating them all into 3-4 chunks 😭😭😭
Good afternoon father flats :3
