    Thank you greatly! Using cut up plastic really didn't work well, however a .38mm guitar pick worked like an absolute charm! Thank you again for making this video, helped a ton.

      How is the battery running? Can you suggest which one to buy to get longevity? I don't want to open this again within 6 months just because the replacement battery is a bad one! TIA.

      Morten Skei Bekken Yeah, this video is super clear! My Moto 360 was sitting laying around for a couple of months and after fully charging it would die seconds from taking it off the charger. I cannot wait to have a functional smart watch again!

    This is a good teardown, though one caveat in my experience - the action of moving the pick through the gap can (and it did on mine) stretch out the o0ring so that it no longer properly seats. I've for the moment reassembled it with the intention of ordering replacements.

    2 useful bits of info: 1) use a .008 inch (.203mm) feeler gauge to get the wedges out 2) reconnecting the battery - black wire on inside, red wire on outside (only way you can plug it in).

      I followed your advice and picked up a feeler gauge set - used the .005, and it slid in there like a not knife through butter. GREAT tip - thanks! Just putting my clips back in now.

    I did use a Dunlop guitar pick 0.46mm and it was a lot easier !!

    There's an even easier way to remove the four plastic pegs , you use a fine needle, it's so so easy, no need to use a guitar plectrum.

      Great idea, you should do a video and post it!

      Did you actually use this needle method? I couldn't get it to work.Hard to grip the needle and it ended up snapping in half.

    • @ChrisPollard
      @ChrisPollard 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked at Amazon (Canada) and it was about $43 shipped. Went to eBay and ordered it yesterday for $21 shipped. It will take at least a month to get to me from China, but that Amazon version would have too ... so I'd say just go with eBay. You'll find them there cheaper.

      @@ChrisPollard How is your ebay battery going? Did you bought the OEM one or just a replacement?

    • @ChrisPollard
      @ChrisPollard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@syeedahmed5331 it was an original OEM battery. But I haven't used the watch in a while now. Replaced it with a Skagen Falster 2 when they were on sale for 90 bucks. Battery was still fine, but the screen was dying. Large chunks of dead pixels. I'm sure I could still get a replacement screen, but it's old enough now that it's not really worth the repairs when a replacement was so cheap.

    • @syeedahmed5331
      @syeedahmed5331 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrisPollard Thanks! Do you think the new battery killed the screen? I am seeing bunch of review where people are saying after installing the replacement battery they found black spot on the screen. When they open up the watch, it was the battery bloated and putting pressure on the screen causing it to create dead spots. Anyways, thank you again.

    • @ChrisPollard
      @ChrisPollard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@syeedahmed5331 No, the screen was starting to do it before the replacement, and didn't have any immediate correlation between when I changed the battery and the dead pixels grew. It was probably a solid year before more of the screen started to go.
