2010 Escape Hybrid Brakes/Rotors. Complete walk-through for newbies. See warning in description.
มุมมอง 5142 ปีที่แล้ว
I couldn't find much info. on doing a brake job on a 2010 Escape Hybrid so I decided to make this video. Warning: When I finished, the brake warning and stability warning lights came on. I drove the car a little, shut it off, restarted it, and the lights remained off. I'm guessing it had something to do with the car's computers having to figure out what had change in the brake system, and once ...
Easy Moto 360 Gen 1 Battery Replacement NO HEAT REQUIRED

There is no need for heat when replacing the battery in the Gen 1 Moto 360 Watch. A thin guitar pick or two is really all you need.

Easy Fix for Durago and Dakota Power Seat Movement (rocking)
มุมมอง 34K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This fix was done to a 2000 Durango but will apply to other years and models as well. It's not a difficult repair and it's very inexpensive, only about one dollar in parts. Make sure you move your seat all the way back before disconnecting the power.
Caulking kitchen cabinets doors prior to painting.

Painter's caulk, water clean up, paintable.
I don’t have no covers
I'm guessing that there was a booster that came off. It was launching Starlink satellites that go into a low earth orbit (I think)😊
i don't think they go to outer space. nice video!
Where was the rocket going? Shouldn't have been going up? What were the things falling from it I wonder??
2 min before launch I saw this was going up. I wondered if it would be visible, it was!
You ARE NOT suppose to caulk that space. That center part is a floating panel and will expand and contract based on the environment. That will cause the caulk to crack and/or separate. This is very bad advice. Don't do this folks!
I've cocked those on all my cabinet jobs and never had an issue. Maybe that's something to do with a flexibility the caulk. Wood filler or similar definitely wouldn't work but caulking is generally fine.
I really appreciate this, I think you just saved me some $$$ thanks man!
Cool, glad I could help. Good lock!
Why make a video when you don't know what you're doing just shooting in the dark? Too long-winded mine it don't take that long to fix it, as it did your Jibber jabbering
I'm sorry you didn't like it, you're the first person who has given me a negative comment. Maybe you should post a better video.
Drill a hole dude
Thought about that, even found where the chip is "supossedly" located, but it's my only key and I didnt want to chance it. . I'm planning on buying a new key, downloading an app and programming it.
Thanks a lot for the video. It was very much needed information. Worked great for me. By the way I have a 3D printer so I was able to make a perfect spacer to fit in there.
Exactly what is happening to my truck, thanks! Wasn't sure how to tackle this seat as it looked complicated in workings. FYI: all my bolts were hand tight, seat bolts just used a ratchet and was easy.
Have you bled the brakes on this vehicle? I've read you can just disconnect the neg and a couple fuses then bleed the brakes like a normal car or with a pressure bleeder at each wheel...have you tried this? I'd think after 13 years the brake fluid would need to be refreshed. TY
Do you have to use Nylon washers or can you use metal?
Nylon is better for friction but metal might work and possibly last longer. But, it might squeak??
This is exactly the help I needed. Thanks!
Great info but just one thing wrong. at time stamp 6:52 it's not one washer that goes in there, it's 2 one on each side of the square block.
omg this seems by far the best option that i've been looking into. I've wasted hours of useless youtube videos. Glad I found the answer
Thanks Paul! Very helpful!
I needed an answer to this question and planned on searching for the next hour thinking I would have to get lucky. This was the first thing that came up. Thank you for sharing how you do it and what works best for you. I'm going to try it. I just made my first shaker style doors and have some small gaps visible after priming. the center panel is plywood and fits nice and snug in a poplar frame and groove. My Google search shows both sides for opinions on this. caulk or not to caulk. In my rookie opinion based on research it seems how loose your floating panel is and what its made of matters. for painted doors most certainly if the caulk cracks then the paint will. Im thinking thats a build issue. Caulking would seem to flex better than paint and should hold up if done correctly. If not its simple to remove caulk but harder to cover cracked paint as far as I can tell.
Best of luck Sean, let me know how it turns out!
So did you still use the 13/64 washer or a larger size?
Yes, those are the spacers I used but the inside hole was too small and I had to drill it out to make it larger.
Very nice job! I'll be heading to the store to get those spacers!!!
Glad I could help, good luck!! Comment back on how it goes :-)
@@paulcalif Got it done! It was a breeze thanks to your video and those spacers you found! I'll be doing another Durango driver seat soon! Thanks again!
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the vid! 🤙🏼
Yeah my seat belt part isn't a bolt like a big ass like t60 or something but i only have up to T30 as big as I have so I can't take it out
I can't remember what mine had, maybe you can borrow the tool from Autozone or something, good luck!
@@paulcalif I looked through all my dads tool, he didn't but I mean it's a 2001 dodge Dakota sport V8 quad cab so I can lean it all the back and all just cant disconnect the seat belt. Just when driving the seat sliding really throws me off so really need it fixed or a new seat. But I mean the seat moves up, down and all fine on the worm gear. Just decided I mess with it tomorrow after work tonight if I get enough sleep from working nights shifts, all for now ma can take me to work, I just pay gas money for now. Gonna check orallys to see if they have anything next paycheck. Have a great one.
Yeah, if you have the same problem I did, it's really annoying 😒

Where can I find the battery to purchase
I did use a Dunlop guitar pick 0.46mm and it was a lot easier !!
I wanted to see inside the sewer
my wifes 2001 durango seat all of a sudden started sliding fully front to back freely. The 4 small bolts on the bottom of the seat track that connects the worm gear had worked their way loose and fallen out. I reinstalled them with JB Weld, that'll teach'em
I’m wondering if I should caulk the panels in my (interior) doors? There is old paint around the ‘frames’ of the panels that I can’t remove with sanding, so I’m thinking caulking would help. Would it look weird, though?
I'd have to see them. Can you scrape the paint off? If you're going to caulk over the paint make sure it's clean and sound, not flaking off. Try a small area 1st. To see how it works out.
Paul McDuell thanks!!
@@paulcalif Another question: i made a mistake when i was prepping a door frame for painting; I put too much spackle on the mitre joint, and then primed over it without first adequately sanding away the excess. Now the area is encased in paint, and very difficult to sand. Should I scrape it? Which tool do you recommend? Thanks!
@@Avital4414 Power sander. The cheap ones are fine if you're only using it a few times. Walmart, Harbor Freight have cheap ones. Start with course grit and work your way down to fine. The paint is going to "clog" up the sandpaper quickly, so have plenty and change often. The edges may remain a little rough, but once you have the paint low enough, you can put your patching compound over any low areas, let it dry completely and SAND -lol
@@paulcalif Thanks!!
work great till the battery connector breaked. fuck motorolla cheap fuck watch !
Haha I think we watched the same video. I couldn't follow it.
does this keep being ip67 after doing that?
I'm not sure, someone wrote that their seal was distorted afterwards. I never got mine wet anyway, you may want to keep yours out of the water too.
@@paulcalif thank you
Thank you greatly! Using cut up plastic really didn't work well, however a .38mm guitar pick worked like an absolute charm! Thank you again for making this video, helped a ton.
Once "floating" panels are sprayed with clear coat at the factory, they are not longer floating. I've used this technique many times, never had a problem down the road.
Awesome thanks. Just did mine👌
Just finished replacing my battery with the aid of this and a couple of other videos - thanks for the effort, much appreciated!
Great, glad I could help!
How is the battery running? Can you suggest which one to buy to get longevity? I don't want to open this again within 6 months just because the replacement battery is a bad one! TIA.
@@syeedahmed5331 Ran well for a few weeks then rapidly lost capacity; now has enough for most of a day as long as I don't read heartrate or do other really energy intensive things
Okay, now I'm confused. I just had some suggest that I caulk my floating panels to keep the doors from rattling when they close.
Thaanks
Bro please tell me where to buy battery as well as kit at a cheap cost plz....
I looked at Amazon (Canada) and it was about $43 shipped. Went to eBay and ordered it yesterday for $21 shipped. It will take at least a month to get to me from China, but that Amazon version would have too ... so I'd say just go with eBay. You'll find them there cheaper.
@@ChrisPollard How is your ebay battery going? Did you bought the OEM one or just a replacement?
@@syeedahmed5331 it was an original OEM battery. But I haven't used the watch in a while now. Replaced it with a Skagen Falster 2 when they were on sale for 90 bucks. Battery was still fine, but the screen was dying. Large chunks of dead pixels. I'm sure I could still get a replacement screen, but it's old enough now that it's not really worth the repairs when a replacement was so cheap.
@@ChrisPollard Thanks! Do you think the new battery killed the screen? I am seeing bunch of review where people are saying after installing the replacement battery they found black spot on the screen. When they open up the watch, it was the battery bloated and putting pressure on the screen causing it to create dead spots. Anyways, thank you again.
@@syeedahmed5331 No, the screen was starting to do it before the replacement, and didn't have any immediate correlation between when I changed the battery and the dead pixels grew. It was probably a solid year before more of the screen started to go.
2 useful bits of info: 1) use a .008 inch (.203mm) feeler gauge to get the wedges out 2) reconnecting the battery - black wire on inside, red wire on outside (only way you can plug it in).
I followed your advice and picked up a feeler gauge set - used the .005, and it slid in there like a not knife through butter. GREAT tip - thanks! Just putting my clips back in now.
Does this watch upgradable to the new WearOS?
Yes
I just upgraded my Moto G5 Plus cell phone to Android 8.1.0 About on Android cell phone app: Wear OS shows version: 2.17.0.217437364.gms. Moto 360, gen 1 watch (just successfully replaced battery) shows Android Wear version 1.4.0.2580363
Good info, thanks! I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT 10. Do you think it's pretty much the same instructions? I've been afraid to rip everything out and have a look myself because I fear I'll never get it all back together! LOL
I really dont know if the 1500 is the same. If it looks the same, it probably is.
You are so cool for owning one of those lol
There's an even easier way to remove the four plastic pegs , you use a fine needle, it's so so easy, no need to use a guitar plectrum.
Great idea, you should do a video and post it!
Did you actually use this needle method? I couldn't get it to work.Hard to grip the needle and it ended up snapping in half.
Awesome. Confident that I can follow your instructions. Thank you.
Thank you so much. This really made my day and saved my Moto360
Morten Skei Bekken Yeah, this video is super clear! My Moto 360 was sitting laying around for a couple of months and after fully charging it would die seconds from taking it off the charger. I cannot wait to have a functional smart watch again!
This is a good teardown, though one caveat in my experience - the action of moving the pick through the gap can (and it did on mine) stretch out the o0ring so that it no longer properly seats. I've for the moment reassembled it with the intention of ordering replacements.
Hey, thanks for making this video! The guitar pick worked really well! Where are you going to get the battery from?
Amazon of course!
They are all over eBay.
What if you spray that's lots work only if they pay for labor
What is the plastic boot on the tilt worm drive called?
That is what I'd like to know too.

I agree very bad advice...that panel is made to float. With expansion and contraction not to mention the vibration of the doors closing will...yes the caulking will crack and it will look like crap soooo DON"T DO THIS!!! I spray cabinet for a living and have done over 550 sets...I've seen homeowners do this time and again and they always crack to some degree.
Rob Pollard I was contemplating doing this....after reading your comment I’m strongly in a position advising against doing it. Seems like it will inevitably crack
@@johnc1280 The cabinets were done years ago, still not a single crack. Your mileage may differ.
You're a hack if you don't caulk the panel. I've done hundreds as well with no problems. Bad advice
@@benitesw321 What Caulk you recommend to use?
It’s okay to caulk that floating panel . It’s not solid wood . A solid panel will expand and contract . You shouldn’t caulk a solid panel .
