I have not painted in 30ish and have recently had 3 hand surgeries and want to try this painting as my first back into oil painting. Thank you for the way you explain everything and I can’t wait to try this,
Really enjoyed this one, will have to try it. Just getting into painting for the winter in Canada as we can’t travel this year. Doing acrylics but learning so much from your tutorials. My husband laughs when he asks me what I’m watching and I tell him “I’m watching paint dry”. Thanks for sharing your talent. Will check out more as I learned so much just watching this.
I stumbled upon your channel in my quest to learn how to use oils. Thank you for all your helpful comments as you paint! And I love your accent too! ;-)
A real tutorial with all the challenges and solutions is how it should be presented and we appreciate that we are getting the "real deal" with you Stephen. I am always excited to see another tutorial from you. Thanks for all your efforts. I believe you are the most consistent of TH-camrs when it comes to full tutorials and genuine personableness. And that sub's total is climbing!
Thank you my friend...it is climbing slowly but steadily. Thank god.😁😁😁 im glad you enjoy the tutorials...its great comments like this which keep me going...
Hi Stephen this particular tutorial has to go down as one of my favourites it turned out absolutely beautifully, I particularly love the grasses with the fan brush. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.

Good morning my friend Steven I'm still working the cottage painting I'm going to do the cottage today been working three days on it. This one looks really nice to going to try this one down the road, thanks again, have a great week!
Soon to do my first oils workshop & so glad to know now it's not compulsory to have to use a long-handled brush; they look so awkward to use.. 'Still figuring out how you did those trees so well; a practised hand. Really enjoyed watching this. 'Love your accent, Stephen, so cute: "Aah can see a marvey shadoo poppin thru..." I'm Australian. Great painting.
Brilliant as usual, but if I can make one teeny weeny criticism? It's really difficult trying to see your brushwork when doing things like trees - how you use your brush to create the shapes of trees and leaves. Maybe doing a close-up so we can see it up close and personal? 😉
The black has probably been hanging on a shop self for a while, it's just oil separation, it's normal, even expensive premium grade paints do it!, Rublev is famous for it, you can use paper towel or cardboard to help wick out some of the oil if it's causing problems.
Yet another great painting you are very good at mixing the right colours ,what does your wife think about her looking like a green haired scare crow hehe only joking 😂😂😂😂

Wonderful, can I ask where do you get your stubby brushes please, I love the short brushes,
stevespaintings.wixsite.com/aworldofcolour/my-stubby-brushes here is the link to my stubby brushes. Thanks lynn
That softening/darkening around the edges is called vignetting in photography parlance.
