I’ve just gotta say I’m drooling over that beautiful, fun colored fabric washi!! Definitely a happy page! You keep me giggling with how you talk at yourself. 😁❤️
So much fun! I really love all of the pages. As pretty as they ALL are, I think my favorite is the one using your “jazzed-up” splashy scraps. Just gorgeous! I just wanted to mention you should keep going with your intuition. I believe it is flawless. You’re just plain amazing. Thanks for your lovely videos. I’m addicted to them.
My Gosh your messy tech. papers turned out so wonderful, I love all the splatter! all four collage's look fabulous. You make me want to pull out my scraps and play! thanks for the inspiration! 💕
Gayle for other items to frame your pages... silk flowers and or leaves! You can cut the petals and leaves in half so you get a straight edge for your sides. Dried flowers would be really nice too ,but you would have to seal them so they last. Eco dyed paper scraps would look awesome, especially for fall! Last idea would be for a gypsy type journal , bits of lace, fabric, and spangles. Thanks for the share and getting my brain whirring again at almost 2AM lol! My fault for getting such a late start watching videos today.
Today I’m actually crocheting while watching your clever ideas vid. The item being crocheted is to be a pouch for a journal. It is not really multi tasking but going back and forth from my fingers & hook to fingers(yours) and washi tape with your lovely friendly voice. 🦌❤️📚🙏🧶
I was loving the printing on the glue page that you started with and was wishing that I had it so that I could use it on a project of mine. Oh well, I do understand that you can't save everything. You have lots of book pages but I don't so I sometimes talk to you just as though you can hear me when you are crafting. Love the ideas that you give me and the how to demonstrations and LOVE the papers that are speckled, dripped, etc. Very interesting, and I love you, Gayle.
I love this video, you’ve once again, brought me so much joy and I am going to try this tomorrow. You have given me a new level of enjoyment in making these journal Pages. THANK YOU GAYLE, you are a blessing!!! YES, the pages are extremely Happy, I agree!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I, ALSO , love them and your inspiration!!!! You are a blessing!!!!
All of your pages turned out amazing because you are spectacular in the time it takes to post your videos and sharing brillant ideas with all of us!! My favorites would be the Amity Bloom fabric washi and your splatter pages which became absolutely beautiful. Your excitement for sharing and trying new creations is so inspiring. I will be using these ideas. Die cuts would work also💕🐬warm hugs
The long cards you weren’t sure about are auction cards. Your buyers number goes on one side and you keep up with what you bought on other side. I sent you those a long time ago when you were taking happy mail! Glad you put them to use! Love the pattern you did on your coffee dyed items! Have a blessed day!
I’ve been trying new flavors of tea and saving the tags and putting in my journal. I could put the tags around a page. I love these you have done. Awesome ideas
Fun projects for pages; I was also thinking about fabric strips, ribbons, lace, die cuts, stamping around the edges, mark making, painting, or faux buttons. Gosh, Gayle, the possibilities are endless. I guess I need to make some of these pages! Hugs!
Love this idea! I keep a plastic box that houses really small cut outs labelled " Postage Stamp sizes", also another with fussy cut fabric pcs. You've really got us all in thinking mode. Bravo from Denmark .
Happy Friday Gayle! Love when you make these and its look rewarding to use up some stuff. It has been snowing here all day and going down to 4 degrees in the morning. 🌬 Hope you and Mike have a lovely weekend, take care! 💜
Fun ideas for pages...LOVE your jazzed-up scraps one!! Another idea that may go quickly(as the collage digi strips)...pre-made snippet rolls(fabric or paper ones) that could be cut down into smaller bits or used as a whole!? Thank you for inspiring us!! ❤🤗
Very nice way to jazz up more plain papers for journal pages - I could see these come together quickly. Probably a good way to use up an excess of postage stamps also. Hmm, I have alot of one sided scrapbook paper that's very thin and I think I'll have a play with this idea - thanks!
Such fun, creative pages Gayle. I watched your movie Red Tails couple nights ago. I usually cringe and cover my eyes through war movies so generally don't watch those but this was good; informative too.
Oh, for a departure, comics, either from the Funnies or comic books? Postage stamps, of course. How about those words you've stamped on page edges? Also, when you fussy cut from scrapbook pages, there are often partial images on the edge...those could be fun, and make an irregular edge. Small images stamped either on napkin layers that have been torn off, or stamped on colored tissue paper? Mulberry paper? Pieces of handmade papers? Punched shapes of any kind for an irregular edge, or for a themed journal, like dogs/cats, plus stickers of those themes. Leaf diecuts or punches for fall. (I punch oak leaves from pizza fliers to make fall leaves.) Almost limitless ideas!
I think little scraps of patterned scrapbook paper would be fun. If you have a pair of functioning pinking shears, make it look a bit like a patchwork quilt border.
I think they're perfect, I'm glad you did the process differently than Lusie. It's nice to see each Artist interpretation of the ideas!! Wouldn't the Lusie Jazzed up papers make beautiful washie? You're a very inspirational person!! The kind ways you treat others makes your channel the in place to be!! Blessings and positive vibes! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️
When I saw you make the pages like these months ago, I made some too, and I used just digital collage pages, predominantly Took’s, but also spotty pages in pastels.
I don’t know if anyone mentioned it but I have used the paper tops off of spools of thread around a page in a sewing journal. I love the look of these pages you’ve done.
Hi Gayle!! These are all so wonderful!! I'm thinking strips of dyed copy paper....like the pinks, purples, blues, green, etc!! My favorite of the ones you made today are the fabric washi's!! They are so colorful and "Spring" like!! Fun video today!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
Each one looks awesome. My grandson just asked what you were doing. I told him decorating a page, so I told him how it works and if he had any suggested. He said candy labels. I said Gayle doesn't eat candy. He said that's just lame. Hugs......
So much fun and the pages are just awesome. Love the grungy scraps. Haven’t done this yet but want to. It looks like the more you throw at them, the more interesting bits you end up with.
Oh, Gayle! I am obsessed with these journal pages! Just goes to show you: give a girl a pair of scissors, some glue, and scraps of paper or fabrics and you have one happy camper! I believe some may be overwhelmed with an entire blank page for journaling, however, this slightly reduces that space with a beautiful frame to a more approachable size! Such fun working along side you with those bits of papers I’ve been collecting! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Those fabric and paper washi look soooo good! My random thoughts for other materials … map bits, tickets, sewing tissue, the security pattern back of envelopes, tea cards, playing cards, stamps, mixed media paper. Also had a thought of using your modified stained glass technique - put down a black frame and then fill in the frame with coloured paper or maybe just do stained glass and cut into strips. Could also rubber stamp a frame around …. Put down a “mask” paper in center and then stamp like nuts at the edges then remove mask. Thank you as always for sharing. Yay snow falling !!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕. (And one last one that would be tricky… my hole punch has a reservoir to catch the hole bits … you could do those … or maybe just punch out some circles and create a kind of bubble effect. Seriously… I need to stop now …🤣🤣🤣)
Gayle, I even love the paper that you had in the bottom of the box. I am trying to watch all your older videos. So far I have not found where you made your books where you keep your postage stamps and your Tracie book. Can you send me on the right path where you made the books for your fussy cut's and etc.? I need them for my storage problems. Lol. Maybe I could find the stuff I am looking for then. Thanks for sharing your artistry with us! The other Denise! Lol
Gayle usually buys them from other people, because she just likes owning other people’s journals. 😁 She did do one video where she sewed either vellum or plastic onto card stock (she experimented with both) and then bound those pages in a multi-signature journal - but I can’t remember anything more. Maybe search “ephemera holder”? You also might look on other channels - I’m sure there are a lot of ideas out there. 😊
All of the collaged journal pages turned out great. The one with the splattered scraps is my favorite. I love the washi tape idea, too. Thanks so much for sharing.
Postage stamps? Painty papers? Labels? What about stamping in different color inks all around the edges with like the Timmy field note set of stamps so there is numbers and different things but they still stay in the same set?
This video was so fun! Before I knew it it was over. You had started to mention an idea about Tim Holtz but then you went on to another great idea. Just curious if you remember what you were idea was pertaining to “Timmy” was? Maybe it was using his washi? Anyway, thanks for another fun, informative and inspiring video Gayle! 👍🏻☺️
Hi and hugs Gayle. I loved the ideas and especially loved the painty papers collage. I was wondering if you could make thin fauxshi strips that would suit the width required for these pages. I would love that on all the edges. Just a thought, don’t know how practical it would be. Stay safe.
Hi Gayle, I really loved these pages you made . I think the natural one was my favorite. The ones were very pretty too .. Blessings to you and your family .💝💞💝
Postage stamps look cool around the edges of a page, too. Even colored tissue would work. Love those scrappy pieces with coffee dyed technique and paint!
Another great video Gayle! I never wanted to "bother you" with lots of comments, but I am discovering that the comments benefit you with the TH-cam algorithms. I have learned so much from you, and get so much inspiration from you. I will be commenting much more often! Hugs!
Good morning Gayle. I love all your pages. The painted scraps look amazing and so very cool around the coffee dyed paper. The fabric washi would be wonderful in a spring journal. It’s so bright and happy. I was going to work on making some of the vellum strips but now I’m wired up to make some of these pages. So that’s what I will be doing when I am done writing this. Thank you my friend for all your prayers. Deeply appreciated. 🥰
I loved seeing all the different ways to do page edges. As you were working I thought of punching holes around the edge and weaving ribbon or yarn in/out the holes. How about variety of lace pieces? Ooo, you got my brain spinning! You're so inspiring. TFS 🤗
Starting on the corners is just the same as a jigsaw gayle , n that's exactly what I'd do , making that project same as Louisa was fabulous , never get the same piece twice xx sp
Loved all the ideas, and I plan to try them all so that I can have a stash of pre made pages as well. It is another great suggestion of things that can be accomplished in shorter intervals of time. This is especially good for me, because I really am not a "phone person", but I am a good listener, and I have several friends who have struggled with the inability to be as social as they need to be since IT darkened the landscape. It is now not uncommon that I am on the phone for five or six hours a day, even though I almost never initiate a call. I am always looking for things that I can do while still being attentive and reassuring to o my friends, and embellishing pages should allow for that. Once again, you have made my life easier. Thank you.
Going to have my grandaughters come over and make grandma some splattered pages, they will love that technique and I will have that memory along with some special handmade pages to use for edging my coffee dyed ones :->
What about old sewing patterns or Maps ? … you said something about carpet tape ? Do you just add fabric pieces to carpet tape to make the fabric washi ? I love love love your Chanel !!!! Cheers !!!
Love these, especially the collage page you used! Amazing that we can rip up a beautiful collage and collage it again and have so much fun! Lol. Thanks for sharing Gayle ❤️
I’ve just gotta say I’m drooling over that beautiful, fun colored fabric washi!! Definitely a happy page! You keep me giggling with how you talk at yourself. 😁❤️
This is so fun. I love all of the different ways you used different papers, Washington and fabric. So great looking💖💖💖
So much fun! I really love all of the pages. As pretty as they ALL are, I think my favorite is the one using your “jazzed-up” splashy scraps. Just gorgeous! Bits of map or atlas for a travel journal. Thank you for your fantastic videos. Xx

oops thought of another one! paper snowflakes cut in 1/2 for winter journals!
Such a fun way to get pages ready for future journals. I really liked the way the collage page and the splattered bits pages turned out.
Hello Gayle, fun watching all the things you can use to make collage papers, thanks for sharing.
Today I’m actually crocheting while watching your clever ideas vid. The item being crocheted is to be a pouch for a journal. It is not really multi tasking but going back and forth from my fingers & hook to fingers(yours) and washi tape with your lovely friendly voice. 🦌❤️📚🙏🧶
Hi Gayle, ooohhh I love all the various materials that you tried. Great stuff!

How about fabric scraps or lace scraps? Or trim scraps(boho style) - very fun!
All of the collaged journal pages turned out great. The one with the splattered scraps is my favorite. I love the washi tape idea, too. Thanks so much for sharing.
This would be fun with tickets. (Digital or Timmy). You could even use washi flowers and fold them over the sides

The Amity Bloom fabric washi she reminds me of a quilt, it also kind of reminds me of some of the Pioneer Woman fabric I just got at Walmart.
It is so fun to see the different looks each of these collage sheets. Have to get organized and give this a try! Have a blessed day!

How about using used baby wipes that have ink and paint on them, they would look mulberry paper like.
