I was at this show! It was incredible. I had second row center seats. I still have the ticket stub and the concert t-shirt. Still one of my favorite shows.
Cannot wait to get this! I've got the original DVD and CD versions, but the restored and remastered Blu-Ray and CD sound like they are going to be fantastic! As terrible as 2020 has been for all of us, BOC has made it an incredible year for the fans! Congratulations to the band and, particularly to Richie for all of your hard work from the videos to the song writing, guitar & keyboard playing, and on and on... Richie, while Buck and Eric have always remained the nucleus of BOC, it is you who have now led the way in terms of keeping the band relevant today without alienating all of us long time hard core BOC fans! Richie, I love your contributions on "The Symbol Remains," and the entire band is in top form! I am looking forward to seeing all of you again on the road in February 2021. Got my tickets already! Hoping a few of the new tunes make it into the live setlist!
@ Dale Beaver...All that you said right there!! Hoping to hear more than a few songs from TSR 😎: The alchemist .. that was me ... edge of the world .. nightmare epiphany .. stand and fight to name a few Train true would be a blast to see live
I seen the guys at the Rockwave club in San Antonio on December 18, 1988. I was right in front of the stage standing. Between songs I shouted at Eric as he was retuning. "Eric! Astronomy!". He looked at me turning his ear to hear me. "Astronomy!" I shouted. He immediately turned his head toward the band. Seconds later Astronomy started. My highest high from my Favorite BOC member (Buck is too). Eric Bloom played my request for me! I felt so special...😎
I saw them perform it in early 1977! REAL lasers, and Don't Fear The Reaper was only a few months old. God, I'm such a fucking fossil. Lol But Astronomy is among my top 3, I thing Flaming Telepaths is high up too.
@@brianprice2932 Eric watches the crowd, and so does Buck. I have seen them up to 15 feet away, and Buck saw me sing his words. I think he looked away, so it wouldn't confuse him. Lol Plus, I learned a shit ton on guitar from him off vinyl records, so I was flailing away, he probably thought get this guy less cowbell. Lol
@@chumpymcchump5024 Cool bro! Yeah I remember the first time Eric used the laser that shot out from what it appeared from his finger as he pointed to the mirror ball hanging from the ceiling of the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio as Flaming Telepath verse changed to, "and the jokes on you!". Soon as he "you!" The laser shot out. Best show ever! My all time fave band. I love these guys! Hang tough bro...gonna be a good year..😎
I remember waiting for this to get released just as I started college in the fall of 2002. Now, they are taking about it being re-mastered and I feel old as hell. STILL wish they would put out the entire show on the CD
Great video. These guys are pros. Richie is a tremendous addition to BOC. He is the perfect bridge between the past and the modern era of the band. He is super talented and seems like a great guy.
Sounds awesome! Can't wait for the new "remaster"! I have LDN on CD, DVD and DVD-Audio. Looking forward to the Blue Ray! Thanks for all the hard work on this project!
This is fantastic news! I am so happy. I loved the original and cannot wait for this to release and will be buying! Thank you so much. Time frame of release?
There are some highs and lows on Long Days Night, it will be interesting to hear the new version. The vocals weren't the best, it sounded like Buck had a cold or something, his voice was pretty hoarse, so maybe that's what Steve is talking about here with the Burnin' For You vocal issues. The band played their asses off though, I can't wait to hear the results. I think BOC sounds amazing in 2020.
This was fascinating to listen to! Can't wait to get this. And by the way, "Hard Rock Live Cleveland 2014" released earlier this year is flat out AWESOME! Richie's playing throughout is great, especially his jaw-dropping spotlight during "Then Came The Last Days Of May." My God!!! 👍🤟👏👏👏👏👏
Always loved ANY good quality videos of their shows, as good video/audio quality of their pre-1977 shows are rare. I was disappointed in my favorite, "Astronomy". At this time, Eric's pipes were a pale comparison to his peak days of the mid-70s.
Will the stereo track be sourced from a true PCM source? I’m not too convinced about using a lossy multichannel mix ripped from the DVD as a source for the re-release video. Am I wrong about this?
I was at this show Navy Pier Chicago GREAT time! Bought the DVD & CD as soon as they came out. Looking forward to this release! THANKS U ROCK N ROLL MOTHER FUCKERS 🔊 🎸 🥁 🎹
Have seen BÖC many times - in the 70's - early 80's - then a long dry spell - started seeing them again often in the 90's - first noticed Eric struggling a bit with vocals in 1996 - then saw them in May 2001 - at Toads Place New Haven - 3 weeks before release of "Curse of the Hidden Mirror" - Eric's vocals were amazing - strong - on key - near perfect pitch - he had it all together ~~ sadly the show that became "A Long Day's Night" was just not the best outing for him - they could have dubbed at least some of his vocals from another show like the one I had seen a bit earlier - but kudos to them for being real.
I had a first generation copy of the original video recording. It was a beta SP master. I sent to some guy in Texas that Eric (Bloom) asked me to lend it to. I never got it back.... 🤨
Sounds like you need to take Legal action against HDNet! The original that came out in 2002, I thought, was the best quality live video footage of Blue Oyster Cult. What about releasing the full concert? There always seems to be some issue with most of the BOC recorded video performances.
The sound don't really shines, the drums are muffled, not clear as the 3 live albums from 1975 1978 1982, the 4 concerts to load from the complete collection are very fine too!

That was one of the highlights on the original CD, and I have high hopes on the remastered version.

This is one of my favorite live concerts! So awesome they're remastering it!
i remember that richie castellano joined boc as a concert audio technician in beginning of 2000s, it's sounded so good and tight
Making history permanent. Thank you !
BOC and Albert Bouchard are rockin’ 2020😎🎶🎸
Picked up the DVD and CD when it 1st came out ( 18 years ago !! ) , guess I'll be putting the new BluRay on my Xmas list , love Joan Crawford
Looking SO forward to this! Thank you to you both for your hard work on this project.
Headed to see the guys again in September - possibly my 30th show? LOL thanks for all the re-issue, re-masters, and re-minders of how awesome BOC are.
Looking forward to buying your new album!😃

Thanks for your effort , will enjoy for sure
Saw this tour in Youngstown, OH August 2002, the same weekend we went to the NFL Hall of Fame inductions in Canton. What luck!

How about Allen's guitar on "Then Came the Last Days of May" it's very low on my copy.
Thanks guys!

you are incorrect - no lossy file formats were used.
