  • Hi everyone! In this video I show you a glimpse of the most beautiful books in our collection. These are nature based non fiction books with stunning illustrations. Living books are usually written by experts in the field, and are not only educational but also inspiring.
    All the links are below, along with some articles on living books and how to find them.
    I hope you are inspired to read some of these to your little ones.
    What is a living book? simplycharlottemason.com/faq/...
    I mentioned Poetry Tea time as a Charlotte Mason concept, but it was introduced by Julie Bogart of Brave Writer, and is a wonderful way to start appreciating poetry with younger children.
    Some info on Poetry tea time here: bravewriter.com/program/brave...
    Links to all the books:
    1. Autumn by Gerda muller:
    US: amzn.to/32KwWUu
    India amzn.to/3nmD257 (I think Summer or Spring would be more relatable as we don't experience much of fall in India, as in changing colors and falling leaves)
    2. An Egg is quiet by Dianna Hutts Aston
    US amzn.to/2K7NGP3
    India amzn.to/3nsDkrr
    3 A Nest is Noisy by Dianna Hutts Aston

    4. A Seed is Sleepy by Dianna Hutts Aston

    5. A Rock is Lively by Dianna Hutts Aston

    6 Sing A Song of Seasons

    8. The Big Book of Birds by Yuval Zommer

      He does not go to school as of now, because of COVID. I am not formally homeschooling, but since he spends all his time at home I do get most of my information from homeschool moms, either through blogs or youtube/ instagram.

    Hello Vidya, many thanks for making such wonderful videos. I noticed small things which you mentioned in your videos - child being in trajectory schema or open ended play or you as a parent unknowingly setting limits in your child's mind by your actions. I really liked those things which normally we do not pay attention to if we are not careful. I wanted to ask if you can recommend few books about parenting, which parents should read, books which can help parents realize these small but important things.

    Your videos content is very informative especially this one. I wouldn't have known about these books if not for this video. So thank you. Always look forward for your videos.
    Could you suggest some simple nature books with less text to introduce to a toddler nearing 2 years.

    • @Feelgoodmama
      @Feelgoodmama  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I started with many of these at age 2-3, you'll be surprised how much they understand. For toddlers, books with real photographs are amazing, like my big book of animals. Usborne lift the flap books, National Geographic and DK also have picture books that are great. Happy reading!

    Amazing content as always..a question do you really think a Yuval Zommer big book is worth investing in??

    • @Feelgoodmama
      @Feelgoodmama  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they are not a definitive resource on either bugs or birds, since there are some things that are omitted. But just as a fun addition to other informative books, they are great as introductory books for 2-3 year olds.

      If my son is interested, he asks me to read a book multiple times, and I read it to him as many times as he wants. I don't know the "right" way to do it, but I have all the books outside for him to choose. I rotate toys, but not books.

      You could flip through some pictures in Nature Anatomy with even a 2-3 year old, but it gets more useful as they get older.
