too funny! "hey brah aloha okole...." ABC Store clerk after getting called 'tita' by tourist, telling wat isle the bandaids... classic! My opu sore!!! Mahalo Andy! \m/
Very funny and informative. Everyone calls me something different; too many to name here, mostly honorable, the surf nickname that I got was "hallelujah," people I didn't know would call me that on the beach or in the water. One day I was the dishwasher and someone was appreciative of my efforts and called me "pumpkin," I had to ask around to find out if that was a compliment. I loved the look of pride on your face when you told the story about being called "uncle." Aloha
I'm so glad I found your channel. I used to live in Hawaii but many years ago so I haven't been able to keep my Hawaiian Pidgin in check. But, thanks to your videos it is so much easier to relearn and practice so Mahalo!
Dar, thanks for watching Andy's older shows. You are welcome to visit Andy at his LIVE Stream at Twitch.tv/andybumatai. It's different than this show here, as the chatters have direct access to Andy. You may enjoy the videos that he has produced, I like the ones with beautiful Hawaii scenes. He is live at 6am HST, 9am Pacific every day!
I love this I am haole and I love ocean view and I would love to be better at my pigeon. I just love to be here and am very blessed so anything can help
@joshualindsey250 Lesson #1 You want to get better at your "Pidgin", The way you spelled it, refers to a bird. The way I just spelled it means the local dialect or vernacular spoken in Hawaii. 😊
Bradah Andy it is always a pleasure watching you , the fact is I miss home alot but when I watch and listen to your show you really make me laugh and bring a littel Aloha into my heart so Malaho for that Brah!!!! You Go My Man!!!!
@@AndyBumataiShow I've lived in Texas for 4 years now, but I grew up in Hawaii. It's nice to finally have found a channel from home. Thanks brah! I've been subbscribed for awhile now.
Hey gang! As of 2/4/24, Andy comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm HST - 5pm PST - 8pm EST. Join the fun by searching Andy Bumatai or Daily Pidgin on TH-cam! COME AND ENJOY THE ALOHA VIBES!!
To play it safe I've been using auntie or uncle towards people that may be old enough to be my parents. It seems to be working. Haven't tried tutu yet. Haha, now I'm too scared to get dirty lickens if I use it towards the wrong lady. Another awesome show.
Mahalo for Kiyoshi's Aloha from Iwakuni Yamaguchi Prefecture. Way Cool to see all the places the internet is taking you that maybe TV cannot. So grateful you can keep this going, another good one. I always said its all "ooji-ooji",dont know why double, ever since I was little. Hey maybe Weekly Daily Pidgin would be big in Japan markets too.
+Jason MacBride To do da "Wea Stay" I gotta go out and shoot footage so I haven't done them because I'm kind of "Studio Bound" until I get the last of the first six out. So hopefully next week. Mahalo for asking.
Rite on, popcorn ... az always you stay nail'um, "cuz". No stay fo'get to tell everybody da meaning of "gang-gee", odda whyz dey doodo-no and goin' use'um wrong and goin' get dirty lickin'. No stop now, you stay onna a roll. Mahalo!

She said my name is____ you can call me dat too. No need for call me Auntie... I thought they poor guy was gonna get scrapes for call her auntie....Was too funnny
+adamotorsports If I got into what all the different kine races call people the video would be 30 minutes long. TH-cam is short attention span theater. Mahalo for the suggestion though. Funny story and so typical. Be careful out there. : )

I went into an aloha gas station and called a thirty year old girl sista, thinking i was being friendly. Her face told me to buy some bandages. So sista is bad?
Lol I only reserve tittah for the moke scary girls or someone that looks like they gonna beat you if you cross them. Or jokingly to a friend. I had a old manager call all the associates Lav (love) ho come 'ere lav and go put away da z-racks. Or babe. She called me and one other mugahlanz. Or especially for me (my name is Maya) Mayalanz. And I asked her one day. Eh Kehau? Is it okay if I call you Moke-alicous? And her response was. Eh! You can call me whatevah you like, Lav. My favorite manager forever.
I'm glad I'm old and forgetful because although I'm pretty sure I've seen this before, I can enjoy it all over again. So funny!!

I have one ukulele from ABC store in Lihue. Mainlander 8)
In Hilo, the norm for the use of "Aunty" appeared to be anyone your mother's age or older.
I've used mama and papa as respectful address for older people. My mom when I was a kid used mama-san and papa-san.
That’s great
