I find it strange that the Anime chose to give Sasuke Indra's exact Mangekyo being his reincarnation, but Madara, also Indra's reincarnation, had a unique design. Definitely a missed opportunity to create a sick design for the original Mangekyo wielded by the original Uchiha.
Additionally, its most likely due to the fact that most of the Kaguya flashback in the anime isn't canon to Kishimoto's manga. A little more attention to detail by the anime team could have meant for some amazing stuff.

I've always been curious as to why Itachi's Susanoo wielded special weapons like the Totsuka blade and the Yata mirror while Sasuke and Madara's just had regular swords. Maybe that's just a display of how truly gifted/special Itachi was. Or probably just some reference to Japanese myth that I'm too American to understand.

I personally think that the weapons do not have a true-constant physical form and were called back into existence when Itachi first unlocked his MS. Not that Itachi found/claimed the weapons in the real world. The only other weapons with special properties like this are the ninja tools created by Hagoromo. So id guess that he created these weapons and blesses a worthy ninja with them on occasion.

Well the thing is Naruto wasn't standing right by him. He was lying on the ground, weakened after Baryon Mode and was about to lose Kurama shortly after that. He couldn't have done anything. I do however not like that Sasuke getting stabbed in the eye was done so easily (and by Boruto).

Actually, Non-Uchicha can de-activate the sharingan, but it is only possible if the original uchiha had de-activated the sharingan before the eyes were transplanted Edit: It also takes a lot of chakra to de-activate and activate the sharingan for Non-Uchiha

Orochimaru's commentary during the fight seems to be that Itachi found them somehow (and orochimaru was looking for the sword in particular).

Actually, Non-Uchicha can de-activate the sharingan, but it is only possible if the original uchiha had de-activated the sharingan before the eyes were transplanted
Edit: It also takes a lot of chakra to de-activate and activate the sharingan for Non-Uchiha
