- With Australia's red meat sector setting a goal of being carbon neutral by the end of the decade, the race is on to find ways to achieve it.
Feeding seaweed to cattle reduces methane emissions but several companies are also developing synthetic, laboratory-made products, like powders, pills and pellets, delivering similar results.

A Fart Pill, Maybe they could give them to our Politicians to stop them talking Sh#t
The real solution is the use of the right symbiotic bacteria.
The rumen of the cows is filled with countless bacteria. They help to digest the grass and they are the ones that produce methane.
But not all bacteria produce the same amount and maybe some wouldnt even produce any.
It is not very complicated. Bacteria can be screened and selected based on their methane production level as well as the cellulose digestion enzymes. Best lines then can be produced in large fermentors (New Edge Microbials can do it for you and no Im not working for them although in the past I did some research projects with them).
The strains can be particularly effective for young calves to dominate their digestion track early with less competition from other bacteria. This would be an effective and cheapest solution using these probiotics for cows.
Not only that another area this could be effective is by increasing the amount of protein produced from the same amount of food (protein/feed ratio). There should be even bacteria to fix the nitrogen into protein by breaking the cellulose. This could be done for all types of farm animals not just cows. This would be a revolution in agriculture.
Not sure why these are not being done!
Can someone please make sure that Klaus Schwab sees this. He is determined that we will be eating bugs...
Amazing! I hope they spread this far and wide!
SOON.... YOU'LL SEE... FAAART FREE BEEF ON THE SHELVES
I wish there was a pill cut their methane emissions that cows fart !
And I wish people used your hearts and brains and stopped whining about problems you cause others and yourselves and us all and the planet
I like the way they ''remove'' comments that criticize their goal
I watched 2 minutes of this,, that was enough,,
How about we feed this bull*#!^ idea to all of the people that produce methane
What a waste of of money, resources,
Indeed, but people in power prefer drugs over basic respect, humanity, decency, etc.
01:52 The production of bio based alcohol is going to add emissions to the atmosphere.
That’s the least of your problems and this is the least of the problems caused by what’s being caused to those poor animals like us!
Seems like a lot of trouble for a completely unnecessary and unhealthy industry.
Unnecessary?
