The court size is definitely a issue. Theirs no space and people get to the rim from the 3pt line too quickly, and help defense is not fair because their is no spacing and bigs don’t have to run to the paint or 3pt line because it literally right next to each other.
Have you ever been to an nba game before? The court is 1:1. Tall long quick players cover a lot of ground fast. Be near the court and see how big it’s not. Tv is deceptive

It’s why zone defense and playing passing lanes is so effective in this game (and in FIBA), as opposed to the real life NBA where that kind of defense can only be played in spurts. They need to fix the court size
It feels like an ever smaller FIBA court. NBA courts are bigger and the game should reflect that. There’s a reason why zone defense is the hardest defense to punish in this game, it’s just too easy for defenses to recover because of how small the court feels. Either reduce the player model sizes or increase the dimensions of the court to reflect an actual NBA court

But now the courts are so small that taking a middy is dumb because once you go past a defender you are 9 times out of 10 already past the free throw and are going to take the dunk or lay up.

2k needs to bring back offensive and defensive awareness to have your player react correctly in the game. Defensive stats are an afterthought in the game and need to be tweaked so people won't have the same builds. Awareness could also help with zone defensive to either expose a defensive liability or one trick pony offenses
19 was the last time they had specific defensive and offensive attributes for my career. Once they changed it to (5 finishing, 3-4 shooting, 3 playmaking, and 6 defensive/rebounding) it made things wayy too generalized for me.

2k16/2k17 was the perfect blend of realism and still allowing a bit of cheese in the park. You could get open by having basketball IQ or you could get open by being a better dribbler. Neither were OP. The only time you ever ran into stuff being OP/annoying is if you tried to run 2v2, but lets me honest 2v2 is where the corniest players always go to play. If someone only runs 2s you know they paid for their player and are going to try to exploit anything they can.

Defensive collisions don't get talked about because it's not popular. I'm in the minority of that group of people that leave feedback about it to hopefully get balance but it's not being echoed by the masses since 2K21.
They need to make the court bigger. That will counter zone defense, rim running and also bring the mid range game back all at the same time. It's crazy that Kobe and MJ been on the cover and the mid range game is non existent because the court is too small
Nobody cares about mid-range shooting when the game is built on rim running, fadeaway threes, and half court threes. Shoot all the mid-range nostalgic shots you want, you will lose with the way 2K is built.

the start of the game was so promising. people were shooting 30-40% from 3 in the park. rarely could anyone shoot some BS. people complained that they weren't able to be demigods, that they couldn't shoot good enough, and 2k succumbed to the pressure and changed it.

I've always felt the game was bad because the way people played the game countered by the way they intended the game to be played. It cause a rift in the community because some guys play to win(arcade style) an sum play sim basketball but due to the dynamics and physics of the game it becomes really frustrating
Part of the issue is they can’t build a game balanced enough for there to not be exploits. A lot of the same issues have been in the game forever the ball clipping through players, the ridiculously bad loose balls, defense not beating effective, ratings meaning very little past certain thresholds, and they constantly walking back good changes.
Both parties are responsible sim heads and casuals complain 2k ruins the game meta followers are forced to play a certain way that ruins the game even more lose lose situation complaining about left right led to adrenaline bars which led to fading

In my opinion shooting in 2k23 has been the most difficult for shooting. You have to green to make a shot and at the same time the green window changes based on several different variables

My only complaint about 2k is that dribbling combos are too hard. 2k14-15 dribbling was easy and very enjoyable. Also there should be different types of “floater forms, like there are shooting forms. Everyone’s floaters look different.
You should be able to do something similar do dunk styles but for layups. You want a specific euro step? You equip it, you want a certain reverse? You equip it. That type of innovation would actually make layups more viable than they’ve been for a long time now. They have to fix some of the contest issues already in the game but that’s another problem
1) I agree with everything. 2) my biggest issue is thatthe most popular/fun modes (mycareer/myleagu) feel like cash grabs with how heavily they incentivize you with micro transactions and the mode that should be the most fun (myleague) is jist ok since it doesn't have microtransactions.
Kyrie is a good example to help explain 2ks offensive problem. Kyrie himself ,also even his peers, have said that kyrie is the ultimate counter ball handler. 2k caters so much to an already offensively dominant game, that it’s unbalanced. Why not adjust the defensive end, allow for better defensive animations to force people to actually sit down with a 2KU and other gaming control guides to actually beat and break defenses down. Kyrie adjust to the defense and has become the greatest ball handler the game has possibly ever seen because of the amount of situations he has been in. To Chris’s point the spammers are predictable but but the issue is we don’t have the effort poured into 2ks defensive animations to actually make a stop for a great defensive play.

Why don’t people realize, outside of TH-cam and their friends, the majority of 2k players are casual players who just love basketball. 2k is supposed to be a simulation basketball game. Not an online arcade game.
NBA 2K’s best mode is and always has been MyLeague. That’s just a fact. 99% of the people who complain about 2K just play MyCareer or Ultimate Team, which are coincidentally the two modes made to make you spend the most money.
We have park animations and rec/pro am animations also there’s park sliders and rec/pro am sliders but there is hardly a difference in gameplay, they should make park AND1 style and rec/pro am simulation.

Defensive collisions don't get talked about because it's not popular. I'm in the minority of that group of people that leave feedback about it to hopefully get balance but it's not being echoed by the masses since 2K21.

Nobody cares about mid-range shooting when the game is built on rim running, fadeaway threes, and half court threes. Shoot all the mid-range nostalgic shots you want, you will lose with the way 2K is built.

I've always felt the game was bad because the way people played the game countered by the way they intended the game to be played. It cause a rift in the community because some guys play to win(arcade style) an sum play sim basketball but due to the dynamics and physics of the game it becomes really frustrating
Part of the issue is they can’t build a game balanced enough for there to not be exploits. A lot of the same issues have been in the game forever the ball clipping through players, the ridiculously bad loose balls, defense not beating effective, ratings meaning very little past certain thresholds, and they constantly walking back good changes.

The gameplay doesn’t really make any decisions to me. It’s the grind that’s super tedious, the cost of the game and how much it costs to max out a build and the fact they make patches that make builds bad is crazy

In my opinion shooting in 2k23 has been the most difficult for shooting. You have to green to make a shot and at the same time the green window changes based on several different variables
they made shooting harder this year but made dunking easier than last year's 2K. insane. smh.

It all starts with the builder we need the 2k19 builder back it was the most balanced builder.
My only complaint about 2k is that dribbling combos are too hard. 2k14-15 dribbling was easy and very enjoyable. Also there should be different types of “floater forms, like there are shooting forms. Everyone’s floaters look different.
You should be able to do something similar do dunk styles but for layups. You want a specific euro step? You equip it, you want a certain reverse? You equip it. That type of innovation would actually make layups more viable than they’ve been for a long time now. They have to fix some of the contest issues already in the game but that’s another problem

2) my biggest issue is thatthe most popular/fun modes (mycareer/myleagu) feel like cash grabs with how heavily they incentivize you with micro transactions and the mode that should be the most fun (myleague) is jist ok since it doesn't have microtransactions.
Kyrie is a good example to help explain 2ks offensive problem. Kyrie himself ,also even his peers, have said that kyrie is the ultimate counter ball handler. 2k caters so much to an already offensively dominant game, that it’s unbalanced. Why not adjust the defensive end, allow for better defensive animations to force people to actually sit down with a 2KU and other gaming control guides to actually beat and break defenses down. Kyrie adjust to the defense and has become the greatest ball handler the game has possibly ever seen because of the amount of situations he has been in. To Chris’s point the spammers are predictable but but the issue is we don’t have the effort poured into 2ks defensive animations to actually make a stop for a great defensive play.

NBA 2K’s best mode is and always has been MyLeague. That’s just a fact. 99% of the people who complain about 2K just play MyCareer or Ultimate Team, which are coincidentally the two modes made to make you spend the most money.

there is no defense in the game now if you look back to older 2ks they had good animations if you played good defense
We have park animations and rec/pro am animations also there’s park sliders and rec/pro am sliders but there is hardly a difference in gameplay, they should make park AND1 style and rec/pro am simulation.
