I took the plunge and bought the meatballs at Costco. I was pleasantly surprised that we all liked them. I will be making some of these meals. We had the meatball subs but we used the artisan buns because they were out of the baguettes. We cut the meatballs in half after they were heated. Not bad!
Hi, I am swedish and I have never had "swedish meetballs" the way you made them. Usually in sweden we eat the meatballs with boiled potatoes gravy and lingonberry jam or mashed potatoes. Or we eat them with pasta and ketchup. But I will definitly try some of your recipes, thank you for all your videos, love from Sweden
Really, here in North America, it means it has a gravy style sauce, rather than a red sauce (Italian). I'd love it if you posted a recipe for authentic Swedish Meatballs! ❤️ 🇸🇪 🇨🇦 ❤️
PS we eat meatballs with gravy and lingonberry jam at IKEA so I guess we get to have authentic Swedish Meatballs after all!

This is so great. I was just about to buy ground beef in bulk and, a lot of it was for making meatballs for the freezer. But I only had spaghetti in mind for them and these are such great ideas for me. Thank you!.

Ooh, problem. We have always called meatballs made with grape jelly “cocktail meatballs”. We have never made them with cranberry sauce. We will have to make both and not worry about what they are called.

My kiddos love the meatballs here on pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes... grape jelly and bbq sauce over meatballs on the garlic mashed potatoes from the club... my my 12 year Olds all time favorite meal!!😊

Have you thought about combining your freezer meals with an air fryer. I luv the texture it gives to meatballs and then added back to the sauce
We have air fryer cooking instructions for quite a few of our recipes. I (Christie) use mine for more boring things. I hadn't thought about meatballs. I like that idea!
I do the party meatballs with grape jelly and BBQ sauce. Never tried with chili sauce. Thanks for the idea

Our version of cocktail meatballs is meatballs, grape jelly, and a bottle of whatever bbq sauce you like. What type of chili sauce do you use? Is it plain chili sauce or sweet chili sauce? I'm willing to try it this way! I might get ostracized, or people might love it 😂

We have some clips of the end results, but we make a bunch of meals at once, we then eat them over time, so if we waited to show a video of us cooking/serving them, we'd hardly get videos out! lol I understand how satisfying that would be though. We try add them in when we have them. :)

Question: im making a ton of single serve meals my 12 year olds can reheat for us after a surgery im having. Should i cook the meatballs first then put into individual prep containers. Im planning like meatball, mash, brocoli type meals.
We used the Costco meatballs that are precooked but if you made them from scratch, yes I would ore cook them because everything else in your tray is just a reheat, so you'll want to heat the meatballs up for the same amount of time.
We just cook them in a sheet pan and then let them cook before freezing. That should work for you. Good luck on your surgery! ♥️
My mom uses a straw to suck out the air! I always giggle without abandon when I see her doing this!

I love your videos but I have a suggestion........would it be possible to also show the serving of the meals sometimes? I feel like that part is always missing from your videos to make the story complete..............just my opinion but wanted to give my honest feedback. thanks for all you do.
We're trying to include it more and more but part of the problem is that we assemble a bunch of meals one day and then may cook them over the next few weeks. We try to remember to take video/photos on the days we cook them, but with life getting in the way, sometimes it's just not possible. We'll keep trying though! We know it would make for a more satisfying video.

Yes, that's something that we're doing with all our new videos and will be going back through old videos and adding in timestamps. We haven't gotten to the meatball video yet!
I am obsessed with frozen meatballs! I seriously don't know which one I am trying first, probably the asian one, and then swedish meatballs for sure! The kitchen is going to look amazing, you know I love white, white white kitchens haha :)

I’ve watched probably all of your videos. They are great and so helpful. However, I don’t see how the meals could make six servings. Unless the servings are very small. We would need to use two bags to feed even four people. Lol. Big eaters.
😮I have heard that grape flavored items are not big in the UK. I surprised by your use of the word hoagie buns. They are really called hoagie rolls. Buns are soft and a real hoagie would have a somewhat harder outside. The word hoagie is not used in a lot of the U.S. Hoagies originated in Philadelphia. The Italian immigrants here would bring sandwiches for lunch and they worked at the Hog Island Shipyards. Somehow they became known as hoagies. There is even a club in our local Mummers Day Parade every New Year’s Day called the Hog Island Club. Come to Philly for some great authentic hoagies. If you come on New Year’s Day you can watch the Parade in person. The Parade has origins from Britain and also Ireland, I believe. I’ve never heard of putting cream in meatballs but something they used to do was dip bread in milk and tear it apart and put in meatballs or really just dry breadcrumbs.

Extra thanks for the info about the history of the hoagie roll! In Canada, it seems we seldom use the term roll and say bun instead. It may just be regional though. I remember an American friend that I worked with giggling every time all the Canadians said cinnamon buns.
Sometimes in stores we see these rolls labeled as sub buns and sometimes as hoagie buns (rolls). I always assumed it was just to identify the longish shape and it was a bit of an old-fashioned term. But now we know!
Enough about the kitchen renovation!
Well, it was 17 years in the making, so we were just a wee bit excited about it. This video is a few months' old so we have stopped talking about the reno in more recent videos, but to be honest with you, if us talking about unrelated random musings isn't your thing, we are probably not the channel for you! 😂
