He even says these are his weekend tyres and that he has a set of tyres for during the work week. He's basically admitting that his tyres are illegal and that he is aware that this is the case. Look beyond the title of the video...he's not being "fisted" he's being booked as a persistent repeat offender who's knowingly driving an unroadworthy vehicle on our roads and then trying to claim victim status. If he has an accident his insurance will be null and void because of his vehicle being illegally modified and therefore unroadworthy, and the victim, assuming that they survive, will have to chase him personally for compensation and it's pretty easy to see how that would go. He only shows what the cops were looking at, not the fines he was rightly issued with. Easily the dumbest "mechanic" I've seen in a while.
I'm not a mechanic, but as I drive a 4WD and prefer not to be pulled over and defected . . . it's in my best interest to have an understanding of the Australian Road Design Rules even though each State has slightly different interpretations of those rules, so it's in my best interest to have an idea of what I can do to my 4wd before it attracts interest and possible defected. Tyres are not permitted to protrude beyond a vehicles wheel arch guard line when in straight track, even at a glance you can see he's tyres are well and truly outside the protection of the wheel arch flair line at the rear, Bullbars and bullbar attachments etc etc . . . And if you use that road over and over, times and times again, do you think you're not going to get chronic bowel syndrome, where you're forced to remain on the road longer than necessary? Start taking notice and see what I meant. Almost everyone goes to the toilet after learning that to use a road to get home after work takes up to one hour or more because traffic lights sometimes give you more green, at other times you get more red, sitting at each of them a minute or so enough to gather some in-car cobwebs, see how you start to aching to get to a toilet, but you hold on, hoping you can get home on time. In turn this starts to cause pain and... What will you do, wet your pants? Even doctors recommends that you go to the toilet the moment you feel the urge, because if you don't and hold it on, the bladder stretches, caused urine to reach the kidneys, build kidney stones and resulting in painful urination and blocked prostate urethra, causing urinary tract infection, while you sit at the lights and ponder when the f*** are you going to move and get home or a nearest public toilet, as public toilets have been removed due to vandals and gay activities and service stations toilets are no longer around. Yet, because of this shitty attitude at installing traffic lights at every intersection and no bridges in sight on ordinary roads (even country highways) since the early '70, and traffic has increased tenfold, do you see any improvements made at intersections? Madeulook only if you know nothing about cars or 4x4s, superior engineering is a company that makes installs and then engineers the cars to be compliant to state regulations in regards to aftermarket modifications, the fact that it’s been engineered to exceed stock max standards means its legal. Ps the tolerance limits the cops a reading is for an un engineered car
@@maxellis9908 A lot of Superior Engineering parts, as good as they are, require secondary engineers inspection in your state of registration & approval numbers added to your rego details to be road legal & insurance approved, you can't just fit their billet radius rods, track correction diff or a set of aftermarket seats & runners & be road legal. O'l Wilfred was trying to baffle the coppers with bullshit.

Police attitudes aside, this owner was honest when he said he doesn't know. He really does not have any idea about vehicle safety or engineering. And the simple point he made about having a spare set of tyres to fit is a clear admission of guilt, he knows full well those tyres fitted are illegal. The tyres height (circumference) is not a suspension concern but an issue with the effective vehicle braking. Irrespective of allowable vehicle height, the larger tyre the less effective are the brakes when the rotors and calipers remain the same.
I’m not a mechanic of 30years and all what cops said made sense to me. Tyres sticking out is always a no no As a young person I’d probably be pushing all bounderies but as I get older keep right away from all the hassle. Problem is if an accident occurred all vehicles would be scrutinised for defects. Then the one with and possibly deemed most dangerous would cop it. Any deaths makes it even worse.
most 4x4 like this are just plodding around causing no issue cops should maybe do some real police work people get motorbikes stolen and cops dont even get off there ass
So 1st and foremost this vehicle is illegal in Australia because the tyres protrude further than the wheel arches. Anything beyond that is simply gravy for the Unexpected Revenue Department.
What a pair of heroes. Much easier to just extort good people that have hurt nobody then to go after actual criminals. They'd have to actually work then.

I'm a mechanic 30+ years and live in Cairns. The police, in this case, are wrong, that bullbar is roadworthy, it's a rated off-road bullbar, and you probably wouldn't get insurance on the car with it fitted, but legally it's suitable for road use. The tyres on the front are a bit on the border, so you can get extended guard flares to bring them in line with the edge of the tyre, the tyres are 70%/30% offroad in the 70%, but again not 100% offroad but still legal for road use. On top of that you have a blue plate made out by Superior Engineering and they would not fit anything to your vehicle that was illegal. Therefore, if the police have any queries they should take note of the approval number from The Queensland Department Of Transport and the licence number etched on the Blue-plate as well, and if you have any questions to ask the authorised supplier and mechanic who wrote the plate. In conclusion, if this guy travels the top end then this fitment is probably the best legal fitment pushing the limits to the max, but is best suited to the far northern being Cairns and above Cairns which he stated that's why it's pimped out for 4wD. If you flared the front guards a bit mate then it would make it less attractive to the Police. I think these cops took this a bit too far.
These are highway cops aren't they? Do nothing to solve crime, revenue raise to justify their job. A CIB cop o did a job for said they are known as jury fuckers amongst real cops.

Any halfway decent mechanic would know this. Good luck chasing him personally for compensation. Strange how this "mechanic" says he works on a turf farm...

rhys johnston superior engineering stuff is adr approved.
O'l Wilfred was trying to baffle the coppers with bullshit.
its pretty obvious what goin on here and you dont need to be a genius to read between the lines ,both of these coppers are building a monster ball tearin rig to go off road and theyre takin pictures and measurements to get a head start on their own projects, this whole roadside exercise is a joke, yes its a slow day no your not travelling in inner Melbourne Sydney ,sometimes the jacks need to use a bit of common sense
Peter Ness hah common sense?cops?
your kidding right these cunts have fucking zero
LOL When the cop states "I'm not quite sure." Good to see he knows the job he's trying to do.
She's got maximum lift on her chassis

Tyres sticking out is always a no no
As a young person I’d probably be pushing all bounderies but as I get older keep right away from all the hassle.
Problem is if an accident occurred all vehicles would be scrutinised for defects. Then the one with and possibly deemed most dangerous would cop it. Any deaths makes it even worse.
most 4x4 like this are just plodding around causing no issue
cops should maybe do some real police work
people get motorbikes stolen and cops dont even get off there ass

“Every bullbar is probably a pedestrian hazard” 😂
As is every vehicle and every driver (no matter how good they think they are).
So 1st and foremost this vehicle is illegal in Australia because the tyres protrude further than the wheel arches. Anything beyond that is simply gravy for the Unexpected Revenue Department.
Yep !! Exactly
The angle your trailer is towing on is likely what got you pulled up in the first place. That's the first thing I noticed.

She was measuring from a uneven surface, witch would cause inaccurate measurements.
She also looked like she could of being measuring from the gutter which is not the height of the surface that the Tyers are sitting on.
also the car is not level therefore inaccurate measurement. and when she was measuring the tyres she was eyeballing the tape measure. should have had a straight edge to get a true reading....tossers
This is why you shut up and just record!

The male gestapo member failed the test of listening to what a qualified mechanic tells you, in regards to the legal measures available to the public when u own a 4WD that has modifications. The cop thought he could get one over on this guy and failed miserably.

3:50 yep that's an engine mate
"slow day" 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm a mechanic 30+ years and live in Cairns.
Go get some ICE of the street, they wouldn’t have a clue, tape measures, calculators haha
QPS distribute it. Why would they stop it. Cuts off their white xmas
These are highway cops aren't they? Do nothing to solve crime, revenue raise to justify their job. A CIB cop o did a job for said they are known as jury fuckers amongst real cops.
Bloody nanny state. We live in such a backwater!
Come to South Australia if you want nanny state 🙌
Imagine if he had an interstate plate.
You cant get a reliable ride height mesurement on a car by measureing to the bumper or the flares, any custom mods would change that number.

I’ve personally taken a few defects to court to get them cleared because as I have proven time and time again, police officers are NOT mechanics. They may know some things about the law but they can not know every single thing every single car came out with. I respect officers in what they do in THEIR job but don’t try and be something you are not. If you have all the mods cleared, I would be placing a solid complaint with the Police Integrity Office in QLD.
Police officers don't deserve respect. They rape us daily, respect is earnt.
This is so great, you just point the camera and they do all the work embarrassing themselves.
