DIY Backyard Chicken and Duck Coop | How to Build & Secret Design Details

- I am so excited to show you all the chicken coop and duck coop that my friend Caleb and I just finished building for his backyard flock. We spent 1 day a week over 4 weeks building these 2 coops for 2 runner ducks and 4 chickens, and now it's time to show you all how we did it so you can build an awesome coop for yourself!
I have been raising chickens for about 4 years and previously built a chicken coop of my own. Over my years of experience I have learned a lot of little details that can make the overall experience much better and applied those lessons learned to Caleb’s coops.
The total build cost for the coops including all the hardware and fencing for the enclosure came to about $900. After doing a bunch of research on purchasing chicken coops we really feel that we created a $6000 coop and enclosure at an exceptionally reasonable price. Obviously it took some hard work but it sure paid off!
I hope you enjoy watching this build and be sure to leave us a comment if you would like to see us create DIY plans for either of these coops.
Happy Building!
Sincerely,
Phil
