- Tour this beautiful, modern farmhouse style chicken coop and duck house with duck dipper set out in the woods of Greenville, SC. The overall footprint is 10'x24' not including the duck house. It has two henhouses in case the owner needs to introduce new birds or separate birds in his flock. It has a henhouse/shed combo with lots of storage and inside and big pull-out drawers underneath.
The siding is shiplap and the lines are very clean. It has a locking seam metal roof so no hardware is seen, plus large eaves that overhang the coop. It has 3 sets of double Dutch doors and is completely wired inside and out with motion sensor exterior lights.
There is also a heated poultry water system with two rain barrels that works as a continual system. Next to the duck house is a duck dipper, which allows ducks to dip their heads in the water (a necessity) without splashing water and getting the run all wet. It drains out away from the coop for easy cleaning. The henhouses have HDPE and our signature deep litter beds, so no cleaning for at least a year or longer.

I've been watching many videos, and your coops are the best of the best. I think the next step would be to make it more customizable/modular. Something as simple as making the HDPE dividers able to be moved every 6", I'm assuming you have a CNC Router? Would take seconds to do and would allow you to keep raising the bar. I make my own products so am a designer at heart.

Love your coops, what is the PVC coated mesh called, I can't find it anywhere?
it's .5 inch PVC black coated hardware cloth. We sell it on our website (under accessories) and you can also find it through some fencing companies.
What is the vinyl water barrier used? I liked that idea.

@@CarolinaCoopsVideos I didn’t find it there. It was a flat vinyl roll that was put in between the PT wood base and your PT wood base, to keep water from wicking Matt said on video. Maybe it’s not that necessary…
Is there a reason you dont use osb or plywood underneath the metal roofing?
