I used to condition our cassette seal with cooking oil when I was giving it all a good clean. Quick, cheap and easy, and no problems. We have a composting loo these days and would never go back to a cassette toilet. 😊
We spent a few days last week at Inskip Point with a day trip to K’gari. It was our first, but hopefully not last. Have a great time. Your turn next, Erin 😊😊
Should have reused the base plate off the binned heater with the ring around it for protection of the hoses. They're usually better quality than the one included with the Chinese unit.
hi love watching the reno but i was watching when you were changing the heater you threw the bottom bracket out on the old heater which is much better than the one you get with the heater it had a bit of pipe on it which fits into the hole that was in the floor more snug have a look at video you will see what i mean but other than that i have loved the reno great job.
Bit of silicon grease on the seal each empty and we found our wheels and plastic had worn down just a smidge so 2 little squares of fibro (one under each corner near the hatch door) and no more pee mess (which Mum had to clean out each time 🤢). Easiest fix! Anything similar thickness would also work (piece of plastic chopping board or timber)
😂We just last week contacted Lifestyle and changed our order from a chemical toilet to a composting one. After watching this I am happy with our decision 🤣 Re diesel heater its the same one we installed in our camper. If you have not found the instructions I can go digging for you.
@@nowornever_aus will do. We had a long conversation with a couple we camped next to in Cooper Creek and they convinced us. Wo what has become of us talking about toilets around the camp fire 🤣😂
Talk about looking through the ‘brown window’….. 😂 That’s really useful info, thanks! Same diesel heater I put in our van, they work great. Just the fuel pump is a bit noisy… silencing that is a project for another day.
Hey guys, Great work on the refurbishment and entertainment. Just something that may be of interest regarding the red colouring on your drawbar. I bought a van which had a fair bit of red dust colouring and I used this product Autoglym Magma (500ml) and got rid of most of it fairly easily. Just squirt in on the affected areas, let it react, it turns purple and then hose off with water before it dries. Some areas will take a couple of washes, also you may want to buy larger quantities if there is a lot of areas to clean.
Thanks for doing the toilet ,I have experienced the leak ,it only leaks when you close the toilet after you have been ,if I leave it open and just close the lid no leaking ,I will be changeing the seal so interested to see how yours perform thanks ,you have been so helpfulll with your vids I have learnt a lot thankyou guys
I laughed hard at you servicing your poo catcher and remember a time when I used to service and repair caravans. A customer complained their toilet would not flush and had a red light on. Funny enough that van sat out the back lot for a month or so waiting for the owner to come and remove the catcher and clean the bay as they didn’t like the addition service fee ($$$$$) that we were going to charge them.
$10 for the seal, $100 for the hazmat suit… priceless😂 And white fuel line for the heater 👍 Get a proper in line fuel filter too (the ‘factory’ ones are crap). Make sure there’s no air bubbles in the fuel line after priming.👍 And ensure the wiring to the heater glow plug from the battery can carry 8-10amps for at least 5 min over the distance that it runs👍 Ask me how I know all this 😂

Beautiful spot there!

Was just about to say that. Especially because the original installation has one big hole.
Yes use the original mount . Much better protection . We had ours specially made at the time .
Thanks all! It seemed to be one unit and not removable on the old one 👍🏻
Getting there. Looking forward to your new adventures
Thanks!

Thanks! The old unit seamed to be one piece and not removable unfortunately

Thank you that may be contributing with ours too!

You’ll have to let us know your thoughts on the composting after you’ve had it a while!
