SPS 11kV cable terminations are available to terminate HV high voltage single core and 3 core XLPE, EPR and PILC cables in outdoor installations (pole-mounted) - the video features the installation of a 3 core heat shrink outdoor (rain-shed type) cable termination for use with XLPE cables.

This 11kV cable jointer training video features use of the outdoor armour earth kit used to effectively cable gland, terminate and earth the wire amours on either single core cable (AWA) and 3 core cable (SWA).
Heat shrink outdoor cable terminations are also available for 3.3Kv, 6.6kV, 11kV, 15kV and 33kV cables. The bracket and stand-off insulators shown are also available. Heat shrink cable terminations with longer tail lengths can be supplied. We also show the use of cable jointers tools to remove the semi-conductive screen to produce a reliable cable termination.

I found this PDF that mentions not using a shard of glass. I'm not sure why someone would think to use a shard of glass instead of just using a metal knife, though. Maybe because it's not conducive.

@@_AvaGlass I didnt listen to the audio on this but watched this craftsman at his work...I think what he would have meant is when carrying out the semi conductive horizontal cut do not use glass, it is a widely used method in high voltage cable jointing.the jointer usually smooths the transition from semi con to the insulation with a shard of glass,almost planing it meticulously making sure there is no bumps that could lead to a hot spot or stress point..nowadays we are not allowed to use knifes for a lot of these cuts.we have various cutting, stripping tools for the job. but you can't beat the skill this man has.
