    Our visit Edinburgh travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums and the city by day. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Edinburgh tourism brochure or Edinburgh, Scotland city tour.
    20 Things to do in Edinburgh, Scotland Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:
    Our week in Edinburgh was action packed! We sampled gin and Scotch whisky, wandered down tiny closes, braved the crowds along the Royal Mile, ate our fill of haggis, and even visited a castle, a palace, and an abbey. So, if you’re looking for things to do in Edinburgh on your visit, this video guide will show you all of those attractions and then some!
    Edinburgh Castle is hard to miss as it dominates the city’s skyline. The first thing you should know about the Castle is that it’s not just one single building, so once you’re inside there’s quite a bit to see and do; you can tour the Royal Palace, see the Crown Jewels, watch the firing of the one o’clock gun, step inside St. Margaret’s Chapel, visit the National War Museum and so much more, so give yourself plenty of time.
    We also made time to visit the famed Royal Mile, which is the busiest street in Edinburgh’s Old Town. There’s quite a bit to see along here, so we first popped into the Royal Mile Market, which is set inside a former church, and from there we continued down the street, visiting little souvenir shops along the way. You’ll have no trouble finding a kilt here!
    Another activity we really enjoyed was taking a food tour with Eat Walk Edinburgh. We got to try a lot of delicious bites and beverages along the way, and one of the highlights was visiting the Fugde House.
    Another fun way to explore Edinburgh on foot is by wandering down the tiny closes. These small alleys were often named after a memorable occupant, and the Old Town is full of them.
    And that’s it for our visit to Edinburgh, Scotland. We hope you enjoyed following our travels and that this video gave you a few ideas of things to do, foods to try, and places to visit around the city. As always, if you have any other suggestions of things to do in Edinburgh, feel free to share those with fellow travellers in the comments section below. Until next time!
    This is part of our Travel in Scotland video series showcasing Scottish food, Scottish culture and Scottish cuisine.

    You missed one of the most famous attractions, Arthur's Seat! Great hike and view of all the city! Probably the most popular place in Edinburgh after the castle. Also Rose St. where you have all the pubs and Princess St. for shopping!

    Absolutely loved this video! I spent one month in Edinburgh and visited other regions of Scotland during the weekends!
    What I would have also suggested Arthur's seat, Camera Obscura, the Edinburgh Dungeon, Mary king's close, Charlotte Street, Charle Street, Prince's Street, Portobello where there is a wonderful beach and also Leith, you shouldn't miss Victoria Street and you should also attend the Military tattoo , which is incredible! Another thing to do is to go near the 4 bridges, the view is amazing ! Casting my mind back, I would also mention the parliament of Edinburgh, located in front of Mary king's Close, the Museum of childhood.. For sure there is plenty of things to mention! Love Edinburgh !

    Edinburgh really is a hell of a city. Although it gets quite crowded during festival season, I think everyone should visit the Fringe at least once in their lives. But then they should come back during the off-season too. Get a real feel of the city as it really is.

    Lived {re: studied} there for 3 years (1971-74), and though this TH-cam video was mostly about eating & drinking things, it did show me several sites I never visited, {8~( , "inside" Holyrood Palace & the gardens, Scottish National Museum [egad, how embarrassing]. Have been back twice since, but after this, another trip should be on the books.

    I played in the Castle and spent hours in the Gardens. And King’s Park. Before it was changed when Elizabeth became Queen.

    I loved Edinburgh. I recommend climbing the small mountain Arthur's Seat--I did that and the smell of the flowers on the gorse bushes and the wind whipping around me from the summit as I looked down at the city--was just wonderful. And very easy to climb!

    We visited Edinburgh last May for 12 days and we had an amazing time!! We visited Edinburgh Castle, Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth, The Royal Yacht Britannia (we got to see a taping of the Antiques Roadshow while we we were touring The Royal Yacht Britannia!), we saw the art galleries and many more sights! We also saw Holyrood Palace, but through the gates because it was closed due to the Queen staying there at the time we were there. We stayed in the Greenside part of Edinburgh in the beautiful Cairn Hotel. We even had a visit in our hotel room from their resident cat, Pancetta. All the shops and restaurants were within walking distance. We had great meals at the Lantern Room, Guiliano's and Taste of Italy for a quick bite. We can't wait to go back and visit Edinburgh. I didn't know that you could go inside the Scott monument. We'll have to go inside it on our next visit to Edinburgh.

      Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos.. well Just thinking to see the castle and see the town ... but if you have any recommendations of old medieval towns, churches , castles or anything, in Scotland I’d love to hear it. Or anything you think is worth to see. I love kind of hidden areas like ruins etc, preferably very old. ;)

    Thanks so much for an eye opening guide to my own city - it really puts in perspective from seeing it through a traveller's eyes. I hope some time down the line you make it back for the festival. Not only is there a lot of culture/art/comedy but there is a huge burst of street food during the month of August.

    • @samuelandaudrey
      @samuelandaudrey  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Ah, we'd love to come visit during the festival season in summer. Can you find street food all over the city during that time or just specific areas?

    • @globaltraveller
      @globaltraveller 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All over the city centre - in some of the parks, in the squares and on the street. The Foodies festival usually takes place in August around that time too. Plus there are a lot of "pop-up" cafes and restaurants in some of vacant city buildings and in some public buildings (not normally used for food or entertainment!)
