    What an amazing labour of love. Leon, your vlog should be kept by his family as it contains stories about the chateau’s past and about the man who renovated it. This is important social history and should be passed to those who will own it in the future. I am looking forward to part two next week. Until then, good bye and once more, thank you.

      @@RuralFranceJournals we're both 66, very young at heart but we're in the middle renovating our whole house and hope this is the last time. As its been a lot harder this time as the mess is driving us mad, I feel like I'm camping 😆 every room is a mess. But the steels are in now and the bathroom will be boarded and plastered this weekend plus another beam support will go in the kitchen later today. X

    Absolutely beautiful. Thank you Leon for taking us along to view this gorgeous chateau. The owner is a real marvel. Hard work & the right attitude has kept him healthy & younger than his 85 years. Almost every house in the 50s & 60s had those ducks. I see them from time to time in second hand shops. Can’t wait for next week. Take care Leon.❤️

    Amazing! David and his wife certainly know their stuff when it comes to renovating historical homes. The English property was outstanding! I am so impressed with how “sturdy” the chateau is and the thickness of the walls. I have been to and seen many chateaux interiors in the past and the condition of this one rivals many. What a talented man. To see pictures, of the house, they restored before, and then the Chateau... I must say, I think, I personally, would prefer one, that was not built for defense, but for beauty 🙂 But I can certainly appreciate all the history in the walls, and work, that has been put into this one. I'm exited to see the rest of it! Very interesting. The dining table, he made, was just amazing!! I took that to be a genuine antique 😂 Oh, and, as a former hairdresser/stylist - The hair looks great, Leon! 🙂

    Hello my friend !!! David is an amazing man ! So talented but keeping it so real. David and Lesley could have gone in many a direction but I believe they restore and decorate from the heart. Their home really shows the depths of their soul. That dining room table David is just exquisite !! The carving is a true testament.to your craft !! I loved it !!!
    What was really unique was besides. the 3 ft deep walls was the leather mask hanging so regally on the wall.
    Truly Lesley and David it was so extremely gracious of you both to open your beautiful home for Leon"s vlog. THANK YOU !!! There would be no other way for me to experience all of this history. David ,I would be amiss if I didn't mention how good you look for your age ! What is your secret ? Leon I cannot close without letting you know how dapper you look... your hair cut and styling is

    Amazing, bonjour Leon.
    This tour of the château of Monsieur Lewis is breathtaking, love that dining room and table that he made and then carved himself. The kitchen I love the Aga cooker it's like a dream kitchen. BTW that small kitchen area must have been a "Scullery" all castle and château had one, so when you said that maybe they had servants I thought of Scullery (a small kitchen or room at the back of a house used for washing dishes and other dirty household work.) I can't wait for Deuxième partie. Would like to see his master bedroom and maybe a study room/Library. So he said to stay young must do renovations in a château (I'm paraphrasing) I think I need to do deux châteaux. Ha, ha!🤣🤣 Just beautiful, he is my new hero. See you next week and have a wonderful weekend. Bye! 👋

    • @RuralFranceJournals
      @RuralFranceJournals  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bonjour and thank you Bill!!!
      I am not sure about the small kitchen behind the real kitchen as the kitchen was only converted by David - before it was a room to house the chickens and ducks.
      The master bedroom is divine - first room in the next episode.
      I must admit 2 things: David is also my new hero and I will carry on renovating :-)
      Wishing you a stunning weekend - à bientôt !
