  • Walkthrough on how to convert a Century Arms C308 Sporter, a commercial version of the CETME rifle, itself a predecessor of the HK G3 rifle, from the polymer trigger housing it was supplied with to an original CETME metal trigger housing. This is often referred to as a "Clipped and pinned lower" or "Clipped and pinned trigger housing".

    I loved how you included every mistake instead of cutting it out, Very relatable

    Dude, I GOTTA thank you for this video. The guide was helpful to avoid some pitfalls that I would have absolutely made myself, but you *really* saved my bacon on that safety selector fix. I got a G3 SEF steel lower for $30, which isn't compatible with the C308 trigger packs *only* because the SEF won't accept the C308's modified CETME safety selector and trigger pack. But if I can just use a freaking washer to utilize the modified C308 switch, then I am GOLDEN.
    If this hadn't have worked, I would have had to either buy a semi G3 pack for $100 or buy a CETME steel lower and switch. I really didn't want to do that, because it would that Fire and Safe would be opposite to what they are on the G3. And to use a different selector in the SEF lower would mean that the gun would be on fire if the marking said safe, and vice versa.
    Thanks a TON.

      Did this work for you? I have waited forever for robertRTG to have the proper lower and trigger pack in stock, but i do see they have the G3 SEF in stock....

      @@NocoYeti So long as you use the washer, yes. There were no fitment issues on my end beyond the clipping process. The modified Cetme trigger pack that comes with the C308 fits into a German SEF lower just fine.
      Once I was perfect on the washer's placement, I tack welded it in place and then repainted the entire lower black so that it better fit the C308's color, and to make the washer stand out less. While not the ideal aesthetics, it works well enough for my taste.

      @@Apocolovids Sorry to bother ya again, but did you have any issues with the trigger pack wobbling on your G3 trigger pack. That front piece of steel on the trigger pack doesnt seem to be long enough on mine compared to the polymer one that came on my cetme. Really wanted to avoid having to weld, but think that might be my only solution at this point.

    I have the same set up,Cetme C/C 308 PTR built for Century Arms,I purchased an original CETME C trigger housing and fire selector,I replaced the polymer that came with the rifle, I'm attaching pics of what I did, which is much less than what you went through, afterwards,I installed the paddle magazine release as well.

    I did the same thing you did. Modified a steel CETME trigger housing. It was a lot of work and I was scared I was going to ruin it many times. It is working and looks great now.

    @Sigogglin Productions I've been looking for the better part of 3 years for Semi-auto CETME Trigger Housing, Century pretty much bought them all up and put them into rifles before using the plastic ones.

    Why didn't you just clone the dimensions of the OG lower, and buy a surplus safety that fits the CETME lower instead of doing all that extra work?

    A good rotary tool with a small cut off wheel would be more precise than your bench grinder.

    @thatguyoverthere9634 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is really late but sourcing a cetme safety or an hk g3 safety might have solved the depth problem because they were designed for the steel grip assemblies

    • @TheChibitodd
      @TheChibitodd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No you would need the trigger pack to match the safety. 3 sizes were made. Cetme and go are different.

      I don't care for my optic setup, I'm currently looking for other options. I've got a Leupold 3-9 on it in an old Wilson Combat mount. It really needs something like an LPVO, not a deer rifle scope.
