Just wanted to say thanks for the work you put into these videos! I was steadily improving in my music production, but then I got a new job and the training schedule was exhausting and I stopped producing because I had no time anymore...now that training is over though, I lost all my motivation and fell a couple steps back in my production. Thanks a bunch for helping me get back onto my feet.
Great video, as always. Is beautiful how that is all live and you walk us through your thoughts. I'm starting myself to approach the producing world, especially hardstyle, as it is one of my favourite genres. I wanted to ask you if I needed a piano background in order to compose leads like yours. Loving your work, keep it up 🔥
Well, piano helps learning how to compose. Its a very honest sound. If you place an off key note with a sick lead it still sounds kinda cool. But that will lead to some issues later in the project. With a piano any wrong note sticks out like a sore thumb. Hope this helps a bit, and good luck with your music!
I'm thinking how to make hardstyle or other genre but I don't know how to start if to make the first lead melody or chords or bass line and how to make them fit together and then how to make intro and breakdown from the main melody? or from chords?
@@sawer nice tutorials but i don't have this synths sylenth 1 and serum and others it cost too much can i make hardstyle or rawstyle or bigroom with stock plugins? like FLEX or Sytrus i have FL studio producer edition but i don't want to buy such expensive plugins like sylenth1, I don't understand how to do it with stock plugins with stock synthesizers every time it sounds horrible it still sounds like shit and I don't know why what am I doing wrong?

The background music was distracting. Loved the no script approach because we see how you overcome some blocks. It can be inspiring. Not that you should do all videos like that from now on but it's a good insight.
@@sawer its funny to cause as long as i put a LFO on OSC A Vol an make the LFO a short slope it becomes tearout mechine gun bass, leaving the Vol on A off an in default its hardstyle.
i mean i can see why tearout an hardstyle arent to different in this way, cause the 1st hits is that crunchy distortion then for hardstyle you need the Bass Tail end, i mean i used waved tables that are publicly available to on pack from reddit that free, and basic shapes & Spectral SPOSC 2Long 3, and with sub, allpass, aircan 4
@@sawer ye know the funny thing is like 5-6 years ago i got really into hardstyle cause of defqon 1 an at the time i was in high school going to a trade school for auto body an we where given a metal panel with a dent in it to fix an then paint an i drew out the defqon 1 logo an spray painted (with car paints) gave it a red back ground that had metal savings in it to make it shiny an then pure black for the logo the whole time i was working on this panel i was listening to defqon, an i would go home to try an find ways on how to make a hardstyle kick but like in 2016 there wasnt many people putting up tutorials on how to make the kicks an the ones that did used either Ableton with pricey plug-in's or had kicks made for hardstyle but came in sample packs that weren't free. so i gave up on learning how to make hardstyle, so the other day when i made the kick it gave me the feeling like i after all this time i made one and i wasnt trying, an got me so hype like i can do anything.
Hey Sawer, awesome stuff here, just wanted to ask what edition of flstudio I should buy if I'm just starting out and want to have some fun messing around making my own music? I guess also is there a free alternative that might work just as well?
Give the demo a try! You can get that at the official Image-Line website, its very extensive and a great way of finding out how it works and if it is something you like doing. If you want to buy, id recommend the Producer Edition :)
This is more of an insight in the thought process behind writing. But 100% agreed! A big thing in melodywriting is practice, and just making a lot of them. You never know what its gonna sound like before making it, so make a lot of them :) Not too sure about kickpack tbh, I dont concider myself an expert but we are working on a tutorial for them. If you want solid kicks, Delz just released a nice one! Ill add it into this video describtion, I think he has a discount code going on as well btw.

There is no right way to start, i often make melody and bass at the same time, then fit chords on it but there is a ton of diffrrent approaches:)

I like the piano lead on 12:00 a lot!! I'm not a big fan of the saw lead chords, in the end result, the feeling is a bit gone.
Ahahaha that could be a bit of personal preference, but I agree a piano can carry a lot of emotion :D
