@Rob Hill - EXACTLY!! The batter's job is to get on base any way possible WITHIN THE RULES!! Since when is it the job of a Cubs hitter to help a D'Back pitcher get a no-hitter??
The scarcity of bunting helps make baseball the inferior sport it's becoming. Any player who can ably bunt (the easiest way to make bat contact with a pitch) could probably beat MLB infielders about 50 per cent of the time, and could vie for league leadership in on-base percentage and runs scored. Any team that does not require every player to practice bunting as part of BP declares in effect that it doesn't take winning seriously.
In most of these bunts, the infielders were playing shifts and way, way deep. They set themselves up for these bunt hits. When you got your 4 infielders (way deep) and your 3 outfielders on the same half of the field, don’t be surprised if they bunt where’s there are no players. You set yourself up for that one. These shifts help lower the hit total but don’t cry when it backfires.
Agreed, the first two I was like "okay yeah, good plan, good plan, shake up the D, maybe get on base, yeah!" I'd feel different if you were down 8, or up 8, but 1-3 runs? Bunt that shit to third, have fun.
At some point, you just have to find the pitcher outside of the game and sit him out for the season. If they aimed for the head, break an elbow. You take it outside the game yourself when you try to injure someone instead of play it and if they respond outside the game well....you earned it.
It's funny when a team vacates third base by putting the shift on, expecting that the hitter is incapable of hitting to third, followed by shock and awe because the hitter hits the ball to third and basically skips to first base safely
Some people have more of an issue with it than others. Personally, if it's a 1 or 2 run game, I'd absolutely lay down a bunt to try to get on base and bring the go-ahead/tying run to the plate. The problem comes when it's 8-0 in the 9th inning and you bunt for the sole purpose of breaking up the no-no out of spite.
I can't even imagine being mad when playing baseball, its the easiest kids game to play and "getting mad" is just an act that became real for some people who take themselves too serious.
In close games with a no hitter I don’t see a problem with the bunting you need guys on. But if you’re blowing them out and it’s like the 7th or 8th inning that I would understand
People acting like bunts are so easy and a cheap shot to get to first when they're not. They're something that needs to be mastered. And if you're gonna shift to where the players hit the ball, you can't be upset when the batter strategizes and just bunts it the other way. (Also those bunts we're beauties, especially in that Phillies-Padres game, that bunt was gorgeous)
it shouldnt take effect in blowouts either. You have the freedom to pitch however you like just like I have the freedom to hit however I like. The greatest moments in sports come from drama. So let’s see more drama and emotions and spitefulness.
If the team getting no-hit is down 1-0 or 2-0, I have no problem bunting. It's a close game. in a 6-0, 7-0 game? I would swing away. Bunt single isn't going to do damage.
@@garyrasberryjr.552 its not about damage. you don't get paid millions to help a pitchers ego, iften pitchers start placing pitches worse thinking the opponent will let them have the no hitter. dont want a bunt? pitch like it

I wish I was talented enough to make it to the major, I'd be rewriting all the rules, walking on the mound, stepping on the line, dropping balls to double them up..and bunting in the 9th against a perfect game
If the score is close (within 3) and you bunt to get on base, good for you. You are trying to win the game. If a pitcher has a no hitter going into the ninth and you are down by nine, and you bunt, you are wrong.
I love when a team has a shift on, so The guy bunts away from the shift and he did something wrong. What? The object is to win. If you pull everyone in on the infield then I will lob it over your heads. Its a game. if you want to beat me then play better ball
“Will not go well in the fraternity of grown up baseball players” Wtf, it’s a 0-1 game. Now you have the go-ahead run on first. A no-no easily becomes a 2-1 lead with a bunt. What a stupid “unspoken” rule
So my team is struggling to hit and it's still a close game. I cant lay one down to try to get on and possibly start a rally...just because the opposing team has a no hitter going? Too damn bad, defend it or just tip your cap.
As an angels fan, there’s nothing wrong with going for a bunt in the 6th inning of a one run game. You want the no hitter, earn it. With two outs in the 9th in a 5 run game? Yeah that’s different.
Hey y’all just a reminder if you hate the unwritten rules you agree with the person who posted this, disliking the video doesn’t say you hate the unwritten rules, like it to have it spread
It’s ALWAYS fair game to try and get on base, that’s literally the name of the game. Fuck the feelings of the other pitcher/team. If they don’t like it, stop it.
So, let me as a foreigner get this straight: If someone bunts to get to first base in the 5th or 6th inning(?????) of a low-scoring game and 'ruins' a no-hitter, this gives the other team the 'moral justification' to chug a high-speed giant projectile harder than a rock at the opposing batter's body?????
That’s why youth baseball is better to watch. There are not all of these unwritten rules. The crap with pitchers purposely beaming ppl with fastballs is nuts
When your down by less than 2 and you bunt, that hit alone brings the tying run to the plate. There is nothing and never will be anything wrong with that.
Love the “unbelievably biased announcers” comment. They say stuff like “I don’t believe there was any intent on a 0-2 count to hit him there right “ because they are right. The count is stacked in the pitchers favor and has no reason to throw at him. Plus announcers HAVE talked about how intentional hitting a batters was but will usually first think about the situation and the pitch that was thrown to think if hitting a batter was intentional or not.

Laying down a bunt in the middle of a close game even if a no-hitter is in progress is a great move. It gets the pitcher upset and rattled and prone to make a mistake to the next hitter. In a 1-0 or 2-0 game...I'm all for it. If it was like 16-0 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs...then MAYBE it's a bit unsportsmanlike.

@William Kircher So? If its not a *real* rule you are not obligated to do anything. And shouldn't expect someone to make you feel good. Like that is some of the most pussy shit. Its like an SJW getting mad you didn't call them by the right pronoun. No one is here to cater to your emotions. You want that no hitter? Fucking earn it.
@Rob Hill - EXACTLY!! The batter's job is to get on base any way possible WITHIN THE RULES!! Since when is it the job of a Cubs hitter to help a D'Back pitcher get a no-hitter??
The bunt to third while they’re playing the shift and back....come on. That BEGS someone to bunt that direction
There's just something about the sound of the successful bunt at 3:37 that makes it so satisfying
Its like the perfect *thunk*
I think the Phili bunt against the SD is fine there was a shift it’s a smart play 1000000 iq
Sasha's Games yeah exactly
Philly blunt
Agreed
mQ (edited)
Sasha's Games ya if u want to not let him get on play normally
3:37 That bunt was incredible and impossible to defend!
It is if someone was guarding third...
Imagine complaining about a guy bunting when you are shifted.
I love seeing a drag bunt into the shift every every every time
@3:37 how can you be mad about that in the 5th inning of a one run game? C'mon now I think that's being a bit oversensitive.
*"Oh no, I was in the 3-hole in the first inning and reached on error. The pitcher is now throwing a tantrum for ruining his perfect game."*
These bunts are just smart. Live by the shift, die by the shift.
We need to see a video of players stepping on the foul line
Crucified Burrito ...
😂😂😂😂😂😂 👏👏
For once I would like to see a ball player out on first base walk over the pictures bound on his way to the dugout
Crucified Burrito or throwing in front of the dugout lol.
Hey can you do no hitters ALMOST broken up by a bunt or infield hit
I love seeing a bunt on a no hitter🙂

@@spoiledsoup3741 aww shucks!!
The first one was not breaking any rule! The Mariners were totally in the game and that base runner could have changed the outcome of the game
Sebastian Gomez yeah, seriously
Un written rules aka dick moves it is frowned upon to bunt to break up a no hitter
@@user-ux3hu6ij6z It's frowned upon to try and get a runner on base down 1-0? That's childish.
@@user-ux3hu6ij6z You and everyone with mentality is dumb as shit. You want that no hitter? Fucking earn it.
And Santiago could have gotten the out if he hadn't mishandled the ball trying to field it, so really, it's his own damn fault.
Bunting for a hit in a 1 or 2 run game against a no-no shouldn’t be against any rules.
Especially during the 6th or 7th inning
Agreed, the first two I was like "okay yeah, good plan, good plan, shake up the D, maybe get on base, yeah!"
I'd feel different if you were down 8, or up 8, but 1-3 runs? Bunt that shit to third, have fun.
@@Seraphinim if your team was up 8 runs its probably safe to say the other pitcher isnt on a no-hitter. Lol
@@TheBeanis8 I more meant bunting in general at that point, but yes my wording was crap there, heh
It isn't! Plus, if it was 20-0, it's still not against the rules and I would go up there hacking if it was against my team.
Have been waiting for this video!!
What’s the matter with someone bunting on a no-hitter
It’s really not a no-hitter if the other team doesn’t try to hit
Some people have more of an issue with it than others. Personally, if it's a 1 or 2 run game, I'd absolutely lay down a bunt to try to get on base and bring the go-ahead/tying run to the plate.
The problem comes when it's 8-0 in the 9th inning and you bunt for the sole purpose of breaking up the no-no out of spite.
@@casualgamefreak 100% agree with you
@@casualgamefreak I mean, you can technically be down 100 runs and still come back and win in the ninth inning. You play through the last out
CasualGameFreak yea that’s true
@@casualgamefreakSo it is more a stat hunting unwritten rule? I don't get the point?
I can't even imagine being mad when playing baseball, its the easiest kids game to play and "getting mad" is just an act that became real for some people who take themselves too serious.
Yeeeeeeessss... been waiting for Part 6 for a little while
3:23 so much booing I thought they were playing in Atlanta😂
Well it's not like the Marlins have fans
Even Marlins fans don't like the Marlins
They probably have more fans from Atlanta than Miami.
In close games with a no hitter I don’t see a problem with the bunting you need guys on. But if you’re blowing them out and it’s like the 7th or 8th inning that I would understand
Part 7 should be 2017-2019 Astros season games
That one bunt by I think the Phillies baseball player was beautiful
i cheer whenever an unwritten rule is broken, even if it’s against the team i’m rooting for. no need for unwritten rules lmao
Bunt against KC was beautiful
You want to play the shift? We bunt........that is fair.
Yaaay I wanted this so much thx
You should do pitchers that are throwing wild pitch after wild pitch
Rick Ankiel: *Vietnam flashbacks*
The bunt “rule” shouldn’t take effect in close games that the batting team could still very possibly win
it shouldnt take effect in blowouts either. You have the freedom to pitch however you like just like I have the freedom to hit however I like. The greatest moments in sports come from drama. So let’s see more drama and emotions and spitefulness.
There is no bunt rule it's a competitive sport if you can get on base do it no matter what.

I dont understand the bunt rule. Its HARDER to reach on a bunt than on a linedrive. Why do people get butthurt over it?
Because a well placed bunt could turn out to be an easy hit
@@blakebebout8306 yes it could. But its hard to hit a well placed bunt
Nick Kapa yeah I play baseball I’m 12 I’m really good at bunting I only get about 2 of 3 down and only about 1 of 10 is perfect it’s hard your right
Brady Pro That’s really good, my man. Keep practicing because that’s a valuable attribute for a hitter to have.
5:35 yeah I’m getting better
Will technology never cease to amaze.
How'd they get those cardboard cutouts in the stands to appear so animated?
Acuna got hit first than hit the homerun so the announcers weren’t rlly biased
Other wise great vid I always enjoy watching your vids
3:38
Did he try to wait for it to go foul after it was passed the base? Haha
No. He just waited a bit longer, knowing the runner would be safe at first and not go to second.
That was a good play bunting. Caught them all off guard
1:35 RIP batboy

If you can't stop someone from getting a hit, you don't deserve a no-hitter.
Year of the snake... By Chimaira....I love it!!!
“Will not go well in the fraternity of grown up baseball players”
Wtf, it’s a 0-1 game. Now you have the go-ahead run on first. A no-no easily becomes a 2-1 lead with a bunt. What a stupid “unspoken” rule
3:35 they were running a shift so he just put it down the third base line, there’s nothing wrong with that 💁♂️
So my team is struggling to hit and it's still a close game. I cant lay one down to try to get on and possibly start a rally...just because the opposing team has a no hitter going? Too damn bad, defend it or just tip your cap.
I don't even watch Baseball but I love this channel.
Play-by-play calling out the no-no is the real broken unwritten rule.
As an angels fan, there’s nothing wrong with going for a bunt in the 6th inning of a one run game. You want the no hitter, earn it. With two outs in the 9th in a 5 run game? Yeah that’s different.
I agree, the Mariners ended up winning that game... one of the very few (coming from a Mariners fan)
shrimp19921 No it’s not. You play until the final out.
Hey y’all just a reminder if you hate the unwritten rules you agree with the person who posted this, disliking the video doesn’t say you hate the unwritten rules, like it to have it spread

Shit pissed me off and I’m a rangers fan lol, Woodward is a joke of a manager
Leads get blown all the time.
People booing about bunts that are smart plays are lame af. Screw the other pitch, you try to get on until the final out
Personally I think down 3 runs or less is fair game to bunt during a no no.
It’s ALWAYS fair game to try and get on base, that’s literally the name of the game. Fuck the feelings of the other pitcher/team. If they don’t like it, stop it.
@@thizlam4810 your the reason baseball isn’t as big as football or basketball.
So, let me as a foreigner get this straight:
If someone bunts to get to first base in the 5th or 6th inning(?????) of a low-scoring game and 'ruins' a no-hitter, this gives the other team the 'moral justification' to chug a high-speed giant projectile harder than a rock at the opposing batter's body?????
To a pitcher's point of view, yeah pretty much. Don't forget the booing fans as well.
welcome to america, my friend.
I’m coming to that mound with the bat if you throw at me intentionally
Settle down tough guy
You ain’t doing shit except crying for your mommy
Love the “unbelievably biased announcers” comment. They say stuff like “I don’t believe there was any intent on a 0-2 count to hit him there right “ because they are right. The count is stacked in the pitchers favor and has no reason to throw at him. Plus announcers HAVE talked about how intentional hitting a batters was but will usually first think about the situation and the pitch that was thrown to think if hitting a batter was intentional or not.
So there was no intent because of the count? Ok buddy 😂
Ikr. Miami announcers have always been extremely biased.
Why would he intentionally hit him when he has him 0-2. If you are 3-1 then yeah, but not on a pitchers count.
who cares about pitch count - marlins arent even close to make postseason and it was good time to get revenge losing 5-0 u dont have nothing to lose
shrimp19921 so out of every player he could’ve “unintentionally” hit he hits the one that was cocky about his homer. Too coincidental.
MyContentIsTrash he didn’t get hit because he was cocky. He got hit because the marlins are bush league and couldn’t handle that he was smashing them.
Bunting a no hitter or perfect game is not the best move but on a combined no hitter who cares if you bunt.
This just reinforces the fact that baseball is not a sport, its a childrens game that grown men still play.

Biased announcers ofc cause they’re prob the marlins announcers
yeah im not sure if you can call it biased either. i mean, only the pitcher knows if he did it on purpose or not, but if he hit the guy on purpose up 0-2 in the count... that would be weird. so i get why the announcers would be like "uh.. i doubt he did that on purpose."
The first one is looked so down upon when it shouldn’t be. Maybe in like the bottom of the 9th yeah that’s a bit scummy but it’s the 6th inning, close game, the batters are paid to get hits and get on base any way they can lol.
I’m likin the profile picture
Tayji Nah, bunting is never a scummy thing to do.
At 3:30 I agree with the announcer. If ur gonna plunk someone why do it on a 0-2 count? I don't think its intentional
1. Those announcers are biased as fuck 2. It makes 100% sense to plunk someone on 0-2 because then you probably won’t get ejected
It’s the Marlins, they can hit someone on 0-2 intentionally because they’re going to lose anyways. It’s not like they’re wasting a chance to win a game.
@@juanperaza2827 just makes you pile on the runs on their weak asses.

*94 directly to Acuña’s shoulder*
Announcers: “I don’t think there’s any way that that was intentional.”
It was 0-2 count so it’s more likely to be unintentional than a 3-1 or 3-0 count

The whole bunting to break up a no-hitter thing has levels... if it's 10-0 in the 8th or 9th, that's bush league... but a 2-run game in the 7th or a scoreless game in the 5th? Get real... your team still has a legit chance to win
