A Quick Guide to All Classes, Subclasses, and Weapons in Chivalry 2

- My brief guide into the classes, subclasses, and weapons of Chivalry 2. A viewer requested this video - as may be evident from the subpar audio and somewhat slipshod overall quality, I didn't originally plan to make it. On that note, I nearly didn't finish it, but I ending up sinking too much time into the project to not have something to post. Hopefully it will help someone, and its audio and editing faults will be ignored.

Some additional corrections/notes:
03:15 You can now melee with archer ranged weapons, which is game changing. I tried to illustrate this several times, but failed to talk about it.
15:25 Kind of dropped the ball on the Footman class overview. The main unifying theme is stats and bandage kit. I believe 2 is the limit. If you miss your throw, you can pick the pack back up and re-throw it, or stand over it for short time to use it yourself.
19:13 Skipped over the throwing knives, but you get 3 IIRC, and they work just like with the Ambusher.
22:21 I say Devastator, but should have referred to the Vanguard class as a whole, as he carries a mix of Devastator and Raider weapons.
I may - or may not - update this video with game changes as patches roll out.
About the change to archers, are you talking about jabbing and special attacks with the bow or crossbow? I’ve seen that before in the open beta.
@@gregtestagent Specifically, I was saying that is a new change from Chiv 1 to Chiv 2. It has been around since the very first alpha, but it a huge QOL change for the class.
You are able to use your own bandage kits actually. It doesn't heal as much as using it on an ally though

Why do you say the executioner axe has less damage than the double-edged axe? I thought they did the same damage but the executioner's axe had more range? Are the stats shown in the game incorrect?

This game is a great example of how outside content can really improve your experience. The in game tutorial is pretty good as tutorials go, but this game has a lot of nuance that will frustrate new players.

I did a search and was on someone else's guide, and to the right among recommended next, I noticed yours. Glad I stopped by here after for second opinion. You give a lot more detail and you covered the different weapons in addition to just the classes and subclasses.

Great video! I actually found the executioner's ax to work surprisingly well against groups. Just aim around the head or neck area and decapitation is easily obtained. Looking forward to unlocking and trying some different classes.
Great thing about having options! The current weapon set has enough variation to cover all the bases, without so many that balancing becomes a nightmare and choices don't really matter much. Just gotta find what works for you!
Apparently it was oppressive in the previous build, so it got toned down quite a bit. Haven't seen any patch notes for the gold release, so not sure if it got adjusted again.

15:47 You can heal yourself with the bandage kit. You have to throw the kit and then stand over it for a few seconds. You won’t get a large heal, but it will be enough to tank one more hit.
Or bounce it off the ground, it happens right away if you touch it mid-air.
Also neglected to mention in the guide- if you miss, you can press E on it to put it back in your inventory to throw again (probably why it takes a moment to heal if it is on the floor- to give the chance to do that).

how do you change your weapons to the other ones in the heledry section
An effective way to play raider is also pairing a two handed weapon with a bow found on battlefield. You can then assist your teammates from the back during big assault (like bridge on lionspire). But you don't have to worry about keeping your distances or avoiding ennemies because you're a vanguard with solid defense and attack

If you are a crossbowman, USE THAT SHIELD. I played for the first time last night and trying out the Longbowman, Crossbowmen reloading in the open were the easiest headshot of my life to get. Lol Great guide, btw!

14:09 the spear only has an overhead swing, the rest are just stabs. With no horizontal slash option, and a very situational special, the spear is one of the most limited weapons in the game with concerns with open ground combat vs multiple opponents.
Fighting by yourself, and in range of the enemy weapons, yes. It should be noted the stab comes from a different angle versus the 'slash stab' - this is enough to throw off most players, most of the time.
The Spear is definitely a team fight weapon. If it gets buffed it will be oppressive in that realm, where good players can abuse it from behind the safety of teammates never risking their skin. On the other hand, in its current state it is weaker than most other options for dueling and 1vX.

Nice video , simple question : How do you Make near 360 degres swing mouse when you attack ? Because when i play , it's impossible to do , even at high dpi or sensitivity
They've intentionally limited it, only a few weapons can get close

Get this man a contract for IGN ASAP
you can heal yourself with the bandages, just throw them on the ground and run over them. Also, when you throw them directly at your teammate you will deal a tiny amount of damage. I knocked out a handful of teammates that way.
Yeah the damage teammates thing is a bug, not supposed to do that
Can you throw the spear while you have your shield up as a knight ? Or do you just have to put the shield on your back first ?
it always defaults to throwing the shield first, in my experience.

You press 4 to equip it then G to throw
Somebody did the math but due to the damage bonuses on certain weapons it seems like vanguard comes out ontop over the other 2 melee classes in terms of damage taken. Unless they fixed it from the beta.
Yeah, the more I've looked into this the more it annoys me. I personally think blunt weapons should get a base damage buff and have less bonus damage, and cut weapons get a slight damage nerf across the board. We'll see what/if anything happens.

I haven't started playing the game yet by I might get a good start it's very helpful and stuff i can't say much which hasn't been said already but you could use a better microphone you can barely hear your voice but again good video
Are the level of the weapons important for the damage? In my game every class has same Stats in my discribtion. Is that a bug?
Seems like a bug. Weapon level only affect visual unlocks

Nice guide! Just a small correction, you can actually heal yourself with the medkit, altough it is a pretty minor healing.
Yes, I'm not sure if this is new or I never noticed it before.
I have a console and I can’t figure out how to switch my subclass it won’t let me
Click options...then choose subclase...you will be able to use it after you die

@@T4nkcommander i bought special eddition, got 2000 tokens, they accidently gave me 6000 one day, then figred out there was a glitch in the system and reduced me down to only 1000 tokens/right side of gold, did i get ripped off?
@@goblinkillahd8396 I doubt it. I only got 1000 crowns but got a refund for the special edition cost. Used that money to purchase more crowns and fully deck out my characters.

The sword literally has a skin for a broadsword. I have it and use it sometimes

just play with the class, you'll unlock stuff over time.

I've been able to play the game since the first alpha, and while they wiped progression many times, for the last few playtests they carried over progression.

On PC, throw is bound to G key. On console, you have to hit both bumpers at the same time to throw

I only just realised the vanguard has less health than the footman 😂.
Well in practicality due to the backwards bonus damage system the vanguard is generally the most tanky class.
