Another question what causes the starter not to engage fully? I replaced the ignition switch and replaced the starter with an O'Reilly rebuilt starter. This is the 3rd O'Reilly starter I have gone through in the last 11 months. This current starter is not engaging fully with the fly wheel at least 30% of the time. The starter motor is a Bosch but the solenoid is another brand according to the manager from O'Reilly's. I have a Mean Grean reduction starter on the way because I am tired of these rebuilt starters.
Hi Pierre. In my 380SL sometimes the a/c works perfect and sometimes is dead. There's no blower nor nothing. I think is an electrical problem. Where do you think I have to start checking? Thank you!
My 84 300SD AC belt jumps around, squeaks, sqawks and flaps. The AC itself works fine. Compressor seems fine. It has a new belt from Oreillys. The dimensions are 13 x 925. In your videos you mention it is really 12.5 x 925. Does 1/2 a mm make a difference? I recently ordered a genuine merc AC belt and will try it but the dimensions are 13 x 925 on the one I just ordered. Thoughts ?
@@mercedesclassicswithpierre1753 Just finished following your recommendation. Installed p/n 0049979392 sourced from Mercedes. New belt is a world of difference from the one I had installed previously. The AC belt is tight as a drum now and smooth as silk now. Thank you.
I've seen some people just recharged their a/c when it's gone. Others will empty their refrigerant before recharging. Which is the best way? Most importantly if we emptied our refrigerant with a vacuum pump, then how do we dispose the old refrigerant?
Hello , I have a 1993 Mercedes Benz w124 E220 . The AC randomly work. It’s very cold when normally work but no cold wind blowing after driving 20-30mins Sometimes it’s ok if restart the engine but sometimes not. Clutch can’t run when no cold wind. Relay , ac pump were changed a brand new parts; high low pressure r good Is it the problem of the temperature sensor? Pls advise Thx so much

just get a bosch starter...you'll be fine. The o'reilly starters tend to use worn out internals that fail under the load of a diesel engine

buy your belt from mercedes. the design is totally different. set it tight- 5mm of deflection or less.

good question. I think the r4 is still a good compressor...however, I wish there was a way to use the nippon denso.

I think you have a weak belt tensioner when the ac is hot, is the clutch still running? check for a loose belt first
