According to church tradition Mary went to Jesus cross with a basket of eggs in order to give to the romans to get access to Jesus cross. The basket of eggs ended up below the cross and Jesus blood painted them red. Easter eggs symbolize the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. When they knock the eggs one is saying: Christ has risen! and the other one is replying: Thruly He has risen!

The egg is the symbol of the revival of the rebirth of the miracle of life. Apparently it is inanimate, but if it is cared for by the hen, a little miracle comes out of it..!

I remember some story about saint Mary putting some eggs underneath the cross Jesus was crucified on, and the eggs became red due to the blood that was dripping on them. So we make red eggs traditionally on Easter (and many other colors more recently). It's just a story I remember, not sure how well known is in other regions.

The transparent liquid is called "țuică", "rachiu" or "răchie". It is a homemade traditional spirit cotaining roughly 50% pure alcohol (more or less). It is generally made during late summer or early autumn by double distilling fermented fruit and is commonly consumed before a meal. Home production is generally unregulated in Romania if the product is not commercialized.

Cozonac = bread like filled with poppyseed or nuts (those brainlike things from up in trees, not the almond variant) or chocolate or turkish jelly thing with a funny name in romanian :).
the small swirly things are akin to croissants and you fill it with whatever but usually same as above cozonac
Drob is something that our scottish friends would aprove of :)

Rakija in Serbian , our national drink, the best is from plums but it can be made from almost any fruit. Another proof that we are brothers and sisters . Rakija is too strong for me , I prefer red wine😃

The egg symbolizes the soul trapped in sin when you crack the boil egg out of his shell the egg white like your soul is made pure by Jesus Christ blood that is why most of the eggs are painted red. The shell of the eggs are kept along with the ester candles we cut the candles neck short we light them and put them to float down the saturday water (aka the river Styx) in the rivers to go to Tartarus as prayers for the good people o died before Christ.
