Hey thank you. I've gotten used to hearing this a bit faster, now that I've gotten to know the piece a bit better... I was just figuring it out at the time that this was recorded. It's really great fun to play over, & since most all players are intimately acquainted with the chord changes it's typically been well received in a variety of different performance settings. Glad that you enjoyed it!
Yes, What is This Thing... does have similar 2 bar phrasing to the melody that would flow well in 7. I'm not an odd-meter militant, but it can be satisfying to play around with, in order to offer up a different take on things... especially on a well-worn tune. Thx for the kind words Mark.
It's a fun way to treat this very familiar tune. We did this recently in a quartet setting... it seemed to lay well right off the bat. This was me playing around with it before the gig. Thanks Rod.
Thanks. It's not really a partito alto, but it has elements of that samba variant. It's kind of its own thing... but a fun way to treat these very familiar chord changes. I appreciate the kind words.
@@foreststewart1968 You are welcome, maybe add Dog or lava lamp for the vibes. Or play in public park or smth. My eyes have to wonder somewhere while enjoying your music. Just a thought.
Beautiful and stunning.

Love it! I posted a video of "What is This Thing Called Love" a while back in 7. I recorded it with iReal
