    I have PCOS. I've done laser hair removal for almost 2 years on my lower cheeks, upper cheeks, side burns, chin, lower lip, upper lip and high neck line. My facial hair is almost completely gone. My upper lip hair is completely gone. I just have a couple more sessions 3 months apart. If you have PCOS and have facial hair, GO GET LASER HAIR REMOVAL! It's great that I don't have bumps on my face and can leave the house without makeup!

    GIRL!!!
    Thank you so much for sharing your story!
    I have suffered from PCOS for years without coming out about my struggles with it to many people. I am very self conscious and just like you, have heard so many girls have reverse results saying that the hair gets worse. At this point though, I am willing to try anything!
    I try to avoid even talking to my husband about the issues and as much as I wish he was completely blind to my struggles, I know he can tell, but is kind and doesn't say anything.
    I hope this works long term for you babe and I am so so happy for you!

    Girl I'm glad you got it taken care of when you did. Mine started around 15 as just a small patch under my chin. I just shaved it because there was no way my mom was going to pay for anything more than a razer. I was diagnosed with PCOS and Hirsutism at 18. The hair growth got worse over the years. I'm 35 now and finally getting laser hair removal starting Tuesday. The hair growth over 20 years is BAD. So bad I can grow a better beard than my partner and you can imagine what that's done for my self esteem. Thankfully my partner has never made me feel unattractive because of it but I feel unattractive to myself. I want to leave the house without having to shave my whole face everyday, and it's EVERYday. So happy for you and I hope I have wonderful results too!
    Love from Canada!

    I also have PCOS and laser hair removal worked for me! I had super coarse black hair growing on my upper lip and chin that was out of control. I was told that with PCOS, hair removal is not as successful, but I did it anyway. After about 5 sessions of laser, I saw about 85% reduction in hair growth. Most of the hair was gone and my skin healed because the hair was no longer pulling up at the epidermis which caused thickness and raised red bumps on my face. All gone!!!!! I still grow some hair in the most stubborn spots (for me, it's the jawline), but I can deal with it. Life changing for me :)

      I did it back in 2012-2013...its all back and then some! So disappointed. I'm looking at doing it again because it did stay away for awhile. If you go for the initial 6 treatments then about once a year for maintenance it should stay away. I just didn't 'maintain' so I'm looking into starting again.

    • @kw9299
      @kw9299 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lotus Eyes it is definitely back and more spread out then before. They call it "permanent hair reduction" so they can say they never promised it'd never come back just that they reduced it. My results may not be typical but yeah, I shave every morning before work, makes me cringe that I blew $740 on 6 treatments that accomplished absolutely nothing. BUT I'm willing to go again and keep up with the yearly visits so I can at least feel feminine again.

    I have PCOS & have a full blown beard. I got laser hair removal on my entire body. Went for a whole 2 years. It worked extremely well on my legs but not my face. It literally did nothing for my face & that was the most painful area. It HURT. Especially right under the nose. I’m going back to try my face again. But it really did hurt a lot for me which is what causes me to avoid trying it again. I would cry every session. The higher the setting, the more painful it is. I’m surprised it didn’t hurt for you. But glad it worked. PCOS sucks. I’m 29 now and had it since I was 14. My face is my biggest insecurity bc of how much hair I get. If I didn’t shave/wax I could grow it out like a grown man. It SUCKS. 😢 it also sucks that insurance doesn’t cover atleast partial of the treatments for females suffering from PCOS. It’s a literal medical condition. 😔

    I had pcos and im cured after loosing 60 kilogramm, and keeping my diet up, nomore cyst, all hormones are in order again. BUT my hair didn't go back my doc said it is because the hair is already sitting strong on its place it doesn't even have much to do with testerstorone, my testerstorone was always normal even when i was in my pcos periode. I was so sad with my hair and tired of hours of shaving, i started laser treatment because ipl never worked. After the 1st time it got a bit bad and shaving was bad for my skin, after 4 times i have 6 hairs left in my face 🙏🏼 before i had them from my eyebrows all over my cheeks, on my nose lips the whole neck my breast and decoltee. I can really recommend laser therapy to all hirsutism girls ❤️🙏🏼 mostly now when you are wearing masks because ppls will never notice😘

  • @centigradz

    I have pcos too and have been doing laser for like 5 years. I had never shaved my face before and they told me to shave the entire area coz otherwise I would get burns. I did and now the hair on my chin is like a full male beard and the hair hasn't thinned out or decreased. In fact it got worse with every session coz I had to shave. My neck hair is getting worse too coz I shaved my baby hair. Mind you, these treatments were done by a proper dermatologist with a fellowship in the UK but she warned me in advance that laser does not work on pcos. Plus a while ago it burnt my lip and now I have a burn mark on the side of my lip and it looks like a pink fleshy burn mark. Anyways, for anyone who hasn't shaved before make sure that u only ask them to laser places that have thick hair and not baby hair. It works only on small baby hairs and that too if u don't have pcos. Mind u, I don't eat sugar containing foods, exercise and is skinny. So I'm doing everything that I need to do to help with my pcos and my facial hair is getting worse. I have to shave in the morning and night daily now compared to tweezing every three days. I now have to keep going coz there is no way I can tweeze these areas that well and it is like a full beard now. I just hope I can see at least a bit of change or it going back to how it used to be. Now on my 15th session. No hope. Also I take metformin and spironolactone high doses.

      Hi
      I am sorry to hear this. Have you checked your hormones? You need to visit an endocrinologist for that. Many things can contribute in such a scenario. What I have personally experienced and have seen many like us go through is stress, over a long period of time it can worsen hirsutism.
      Also, I am not sure exactly where but I have read on a few pages that over excercise can cause stress.
      PCOS is complex and can be a little different for everyone. It is the hormonal imbalance that brings us so many problems.
      These hormones also act up during pregnancy and menopause.
      Stress is an obvious reaction in your situation. I am no one to give you a sound solution. But I think talking with an endocrinologist can help. Along with stress management. PCOS wrecks our mental health too. You can see a therapist in that case. Stigma aside, mental health is equally important.
      Hope things get better for you. ❤

    Thanks for sharing I'm gonna have my first treatment soon and I'm a bit anxious. I have had so many questions for the lady when we did the consultation. She did tell me I may need yearly maintenance for my face with the pcos.
    One thing I'd like to add for people if you have autoimmune issues you may need to get a medical clearance as you can have an immune response to the lazer. Always make sure you disclose any health issues to be safe if you're getting it done.

    I don’t ever let it grow in and it’s probably about 100 hairs.
    I also have pcos.
    I waxed for about a year and had to wax every two weeks. I did notice thinner regrowth.
    I guess I’m just looking for someone to give me a push!

      @danielleleclerc4957 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes waxing was wonderful.
      It didn’t go away... it just was a lot less coarse. The hardest part was growing it out for the initial wax. Immediately it grew in thinner. But I still was going every 8ish days for a wax. I have gone back to plucking , I had a child and finding time to go became an issue for me.
      But I did enjoy waxing

    Guys i may have to do this lazer hair removal. Reason being I've started to get hair under my chin since in 2007 and from since then i have been plucking with tweasers and from since then i mess up the bottom of my chin that is it is very dark and it looks like baird. Im so ashamed of letting people see it. When i say dark it black. So i really have to do it and i pray that when i do the LHR that it wouldn't grow back so i can try to get rid of the black mark

    Did you buy a package or are you paying per visit? I bought a package for 6 or 8 visits (can't recall exactly rn) for a lot. I'll have 4 treatments beginning of Oct. I don't see results but could be due to having very dark, thick, coarse lip & chin hair plus everywhere in between too, but I digress. They only do the front of the chin & not underneath. They told me it'll be a few hundred extra if I want the whole neck done. But, hello??? My chin & lip don't run into each other in a straight line. The anatomy of the chin includes underneath it as well unless it's been taken out text books like they once threw out Pluto as a planet when I was young. Messed up classmates & me after years of learning it is a planet. I need answers. Is this happening again? Is history repeating itself but this time it's regarding anatomy instead? Has underneath the chin been excluded from being part of us now? We all just have extremely long necks now? We're in mid pandemic & most ppl don't have money to go out & make it rain on these hoes right now. I told them 3xs I'm not receiving the correct amount of service that I paid for. I coulda paid for my O-Shot instead & kept threading & deplitory creams. Any suggestions on how & whom I should contact to make sure I get my money's worth? I don't wanna give them a bad review but I'm about 4 sessions through already & I don't want to add on more trips. I'm going blind so my license has been taken away. I depend on car services like uber, lyft & Waymo (an autonomous car) that all cost money & it adds up. Waymos cheapest but the car only goes certain places but it's fun. I feel like I'm part of what will be an historic event. Anywho, if you see this Plz throw me a quick answer when you're able. Thanks.

      @trishakhatuya3431 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to have your hormones balanced for that. Visit an endocrinologist.Androgens affect our hair growth. The reason why it comes back is because the hormones are imbalanced. Natalie also mentions in her second video, which she uploaded a year later after this one that her hair grew back. It will, since with Pcos, the hormones will always be on the unstable side. But she mentions in the comment section under this video that the hair growth is much slower and thinner.Many women say it is closer to peach fuzz than the typical hirsutism induced thick, stubble like hair. The latter causes ingrown hair and hyperpigmentation. Peach fuzz is much better.
      The goal is to make hormone imbalance minimal cause pcos is chronic.

  • @LgyLpz

    I did this after a year it started to come back, I have pcos. After three years it's like I just paid for no reason! You got a great price I did it about 5yrs ago and paid 3k for three areas. But not going to lie almost a year with no hair on my face was awesome. On my legs it did take about two years and now its alot thinner then it used to be. They told me the same thing that it works on women with pcos but honestly they just want your money!
