Absolutely correct and I m at the age of 76 years surviving with same Principal. Even I have sold my car as it was none more my need. Hiring OLA is cheaper than managing a car if it is not everyday need. Secondly in place of becoming a driver I ride a car with driver. For local work I normally walk whichkeeps me fit. No expensive travel, Hotel in my life.But regret that no one around me wants to follow my way of life. I DONTE A FIXED % OF MY INCOME FOR THE SOCIETY. This is called simple living and high thinking. I understand your values as , I being a child of the late fifties were brought up in a country which had only a decade ago had become independent. Nowadays , we have the E.M.I culture . It is quite the opposite of what we believed in. Anyway, values change . The younger generation is much more confident and cosmopolitan.

I like great clothes but i dont go for brands, i go for style and only need based shopping not want based.. I love being fit but i dont go to gym i walk 1 hour a day and purchased two dumbells 25 years ago and learnt 15 full body workout excersises. I do go to expensive restaurants but only once or twice a year that too when i have surplus money.. I use perfumes but u get good ones at 500 no need for 5000 ones. I drive a car but my need is fulfilled with an Alto cng so just for status i dont buy a bigger car. I have a two wheeler but a hero bike basic model which gives me great avg. I occassionally drink but not fussy about scotches even a royalstag is enough. I dont go for expensive holidays rather i look for interesting people to make friends and enjoy even a small picnic. I have one two bedroom flat which i have neatly kept. After all this i save 35 percent of my income which i reinvest in business . I have a 8 k smartphone because it gives me what i need. Never in my life of 50 years have i felt shortage of money. And never in my life have i felt that im unhappy because of lack of materialistic things. I look after my healthso medical expense is hardly any. I had to be admitted in hosoital once but i chose a govt hospitalwhere doctors are great and expense is minimum. I did court marriage my daughter did court marriage. Society foesnot feed you so no point in worrying about society. Education system of our country gives less education and more information. Unless you are so brilliant that u can get a scholarship a basic graduation is enough . Information is procured by google and self education through reading books in a library is the best.

Just a curious question, after living entire life in small rented flat, wearing rented clothes, not educating kids beyond 10th or 12th, not even taking liberty of even eating in the good restaurant ever, if I save money, and become supposedly rich, what for I need riches. What the use of this money. Not wasting money in unnecessary expenses like extravagant marriages, gadgets, designer clothes are understandable, but saving money at the cost of child's future, a stable roof over ones head, I somehow dont get it. One might have money in bank, but can't be termed rich. It's a pauper's life. To me, this kind of riches are worst than poverty.

My uncles thought like you and they run a 200 crore turn over manufacturing pvt ltd company. I chose to do mba and join a highly paid corporate job. I grew from scratch and became an Area Incharge at 35 . Unfortunately i couldnot save because of the materialistic lifestyle with glamour , sedan car , expensive watches and perfume culture inculcated by multinational corporate mafia( i now call it mafia). I quit job at 43 , joined my family business , changed my lifestyle and at 50 now I am doing well for myself . Your preachings, if i had understood at 20 years of age i could have been where i am at 35. But, better late than never.

पढ़ाई को लेकर आपने जो भी कुछ कहा , कभी कभी लगता है ये बात सही है । इस पढ़ाई के पीछे इतना खर्चा वेस्ट है । एक उदाहरण देती हु। जो कि सच में हुआ है । मेरे पति और उनके स्कूल के दोस्तो ने 10th पास करने के 25 साल पूरे होने पर रियूनियन करने का फैसला लिया उसी स्कूल में , उन्ही टीचर्स के साथ । जब वो सब मिले तो देखा कि जो पढ़ाई में बहुत अच्छे थे dr, engineer बने। कुछ तो विदेशो में रह रहे थे। अधिकतर एवरेज बच्चे थे जिन्होंने पढ़ाई पूरी करके नौकरी हासिल की और एक मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार में थे । उनकी क्लास का सिर्फ 1 बच्चा फेल हुआ था । और टीचर्स को कभी उससे कोई उम्मीद नहीं रही थी । लेकिन वही सबसे सफल रहा । उसने 10th ke बाद पढ़ाई छोड़ दी । उसका इंटरेस्ट गाड़ियों में था तो उसने गैरेज में काम किया । जब तक बाकियों ने 12th पास की उसने अपना गेराज खोल लिया । जब तक सबने डिग्री ली उसने सेकंड हैंड गाडियां खरीदनी बेचनी शुरू कर दी । आज मुंबई में उसके ऑडी, जगुआर जेसी महंगी गाड़ियों के 2 शोरूम हैं । जितना बड़ा और आलीशान घर और गाड़ी उसके पास है उनमें से किसी के पास नही । 6 महीने पहले उसने नासिक में अपना फार्म हाउस बनाया है । अब आप सोचिए 😅

I occassionally drink but not fussy about scotches even a royalstag is enough. I dont go for expensive holidays rather i look for interesting people to make friends and enjoy even a small picnic. I have one two bedroom flat which i have neatly kept. After all this i save 35 percent of my income which i reinvest in business . I have a 8 k smartphone because it gives me what i need. Never in my life of 50 years have i felt shortage of money. And never in my life have i felt that im unhappy because of lack of materialistic things. I look after my healthso medical expense is hardly any. I had to be admitted in hosoital once but i chose a govt hospitalwhere doctors are great and expense is minimum. I did court marriage my daughter did court marriage. Society foesnot feed you so no point in worrying about society. Education system of our country gives less education and more information. Unless you are so brilliant that u can get a scholarship a basic graduation is enough . Information is procured by google and self education through reading books in a library is the best.

Just a curious question, after living entire life in small rented flat, wearing rented clothes, not educating kids beyond 10th or 12th, not even taking liberty of even eating in the good restaurant ever, if I save money, and become supposedly rich, what for I need riches. What the use of this money.
Not wasting money in unnecessary expenses like extravagant marriages, gadgets, designer clothes are understandable, but saving money at the cost of child's future, a stable roof over ones head, I somehow dont get it. One might have money in bank, but can't be termed rich. It's a pauper's life. To me, this kind of riches are worst than poverty.

My uncles thought like you and they run a 200 crore turn over manufacturing pvt ltd company. I chose to do mba and join a highly paid corporate job. I grew from scratch and became an Area Incharge at 35 . Unfortunately i couldnot save because of the materialistic lifestyle with glamour , sedan car , expensive watches and perfume culture inculcated by multinational corporate mafia( i now call it mafia). I quit job at 43 , joined my family business , changed my lifestyle and at 50 now I am doing well for myself . Your preachings, if i had understood at 20 years of age i could have been where i am at 35. But, better late than never.

एक उदाहरण देती हु। जो कि सच में हुआ है ।
मेरे पति और उनके स्कूल के दोस्तो ने 10th पास करने के 25 साल पूरे होने पर रियूनियन करने का फैसला लिया उसी स्कूल में , उन्ही टीचर्स के साथ ।
जब वो सब मिले तो देखा कि जो पढ़ाई में बहुत अच्छे थे dr, engineer बने। कुछ तो विदेशो में रह रहे थे। अधिकतर एवरेज बच्चे थे जिन्होंने पढ़ाई पूरी करके नौकरी हासिल की और एक मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार में थे । उनकी क्लास का सिर्फ 1 बच्चा फेल हुआ था । और टीचर्स को कभी उससे कोई उम्मीद नहीं रही थी । लेकिन वही सबसे सफल रहा ।
उसने 10th ke बाद पढ़ाई छोड़ दी । उसका इंटरेस्ट गाड़ियों में था तो उसने गैरेज में काम किया । जब तक बाकियों ने 12th पास की उसने अपना गेराज खोल लिया । जब तक सबने डिग्री ली उसने सेकंड हैंड गाडियां खरीदनी बेचनी शुरू कर दी । आज मुंबई में उसके ऑडी, जगुआर जेसी महंगी गाड़ियों के 2 शोरूम हैं ।
जितना बड़ा और आलीशान घर और गाड़ी उसके पास है उनमें से किसी के पास नही । 6 महीने पहले उसने नासिक में अपना फार्म हाउस बनाया है । अब आप सोचिए 😅

I agree , instead of spending huge amount of money on the marriage of kids that boosts parent's ego one should keep marriage a simple occasion and invest that money . Regarding education , I believe graduation (not always engineer or doctor) along with vocational courses is good for becoming self reliant, self employed or even for side business.
