Hey wako, It was great to see our knife in action! I never would have imagined when i started watching your channel more than 10 years ago you'd be skinning a deer with our own designed knife! We came to love a lot of design features you like because of your channel. This knife is heavily influenced by that. We designed it to be a jack of all trades. A bushcraft, hunting and survival knife. For our hands its perfect fkr bushcraft and batonning but everyone's hands are different so a perfect handle is nearly impossible to make. I am very happy the knife did well for you! It makes me very happy to see this knife in use like this. DBK wouldn't have been here without the virtuouvice channel ❤
Ive watched both of your channels for years. And because of that have purchased way more knives than i'll probably ever need.... but after almost 2 years of trying to convince myself that i didn't need this knife, you have Wako to thank for my new purchase tonight. Cant wait to put it through its paces! So awesome to see it all come full circle.Congrats Maarten and Mikkie
Mr. WAKO , can you make a video of your entire knife collection, I've been subscribed and watching your awesome videos for 12 years and absolutely love when you bring all your knives out to show us . Hope your family is doing well and having a great year
I watch your videos as a kid and now i am 23 and buy my first Bark River a bravo one A2 with snakeskin micarta and yellow liner. We need your good old food videos. Greece from germany
Amazing Doctor Wako. We have all been patiently awaiting your hunting videos. It is good to hear your voice again. The DBK boys will be ecstatic with your approval. Please consider coming to New Zealand for hunting, I would personlly love to take you out.
Thankyou for teaching me to jump in and learn how to reprofile my knives. Ya just have to do it and once ya learn its so much better. I do not worry about my knives showing up dull or at a poor geometry. I can just change it to my liking now 👍 I am very greatful for your channel brother , thanks for taking the time too share your life and your knives.
I must have missed the precision part. I have seen ravens do a cleaner butcher job. Hair all over the meat, wasteful cuts everywhere . Not sure if this is how it’s done in Japan, but we have a very different philosophy in the USA!
Full circle. I've been watching this channel years before DBK existed but found them quickly because of the Bark River reviews. They mentioned virtuovice as an influence in multiple vids and even highlighted him in a recent one...Thought it was cool that they are VV fans too! Looks like the knife did great, which everyone is pumped to see! Love from Canada
There’s not enough difference to matter between hunting and bushcraft ergonomics as long as the user is adaptive he can make it work for both. I agree with you about Elmax being a great steel in general it performs well and gives the user room to grow when sharpening to restore the edge. Thanks for sharing your experience Wako! I’ve been looking forward to your hunting adventures this season 🙏stay well sir
Well done, sir. As has already been said, the DBK fellas will love you even more. They are the two that made me aware of your videos, and I've been enjoying them ever since. Thank you for sharing with us. I own many BarkRiver knives because of your vids, and now will have to search for this DBK one, too. :) Enjoy, and Happy Holidays for you and the family.
Doctor, hope you are doing well. Please update with some new videos! Any new knives or steels? What is your favorite knife now ? How do you like your rifle setup? Any new gear? Thank you very much.
Love the beautiful cinematography in this film, especially in the opening scene! No soundtrack is necessary. Beautiful. Deserves an award from the Academy.
The yellow is stomach bile nothing to worry about clean it and it won’t have a taste by the time you peel the silver skin . Ps I am happy it’s time for the hunt vids again always look forward to these types of reviews from you .
Excellent review, as usual. I have been looking for a good skinning knife for the elk season later this year. I have been using Gerber Vital with replaceable blades throughout 2023. Went through 4 blades with one elk. Have you ever tried a Nessmuk-style knife? It was supposedly designed to be an excellent hunting/camp chore knife. Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Very good vid Wako Sir. That knife is a lot like like my own Bravo Light drop point (in Cru-Wear). Both have a very good handle length to blade length balance. I was very impressed by how well the Elmax held its edge.
I think that was Marten and Mikki calling on your phone to say thanks for using the DBK Bushcraft knife to dress this deer 😊. You are so skilled and knowledgeable, many hunters use your videos to learn to dress animals. Thank you!
Man I thought the Missouri Whitetail were small! And then I moved to Washington for a while. Those Blacktail are even tinier! But I think my Rhodesian Ridgeback is bigger than that one you got there. Beautiful hunt though. An awesome knife. God bless and thank you for the video.
Hi , do you ever tried kiku matsuda knife from your land , Japan? I think thats a grind, you will like... Greetings from Germany, Iam a deer hunter, too. Tobi
He's probably miles away from his car and can only carry a limited amount back, and I guess he picks the best cuts and leaves the rest to bear and other predators
@@fallenstudent1103 Its actually because he has no limits how much he can hunt so he shoots so many deers every season he only takes his favorite parts. He takes just as little when in some videos you can clearly see hes hunting on some field likely very close to his car
Your english has improved very much wako! I always love watching your videos, i follow your japanese channel aswell, some day i wish to visit japan. Have you ever tried to take some of the smaller pieces of meat for hamburger or sausages? Which calibre did you use this trip? And last question, will you upload a current review on your watch? Blessings from Canada.
After all these year, I’m still amazed at his skills as hunter and knife sharpener. I need to see if he has instructional video for the way he butcher deer.
Hi sikahige doctor for loge time no see . This video while speaking with English is good job I love natural with snow . I want to go there and eat this meat.
It's ironic, throughout all of time, that soft pink fat would be the most valuable part of the deer! Funny how things change. Our ancestors weep for us. 😅

DBK Boys: "Use our bushcraft knife for hunting? No problem"
It makes me very happy to see this DBK knife journey make it to this point. Truly, this is of the highest honor for the DBK bros.
Legend!
It's a wonderful story. I'm more than happy to see your smiles. Good luck my friends.

Thinner handles are a little better for hunting knives.
@@gilbertopadilla3611Depends on your hand size also.
So nice to see you doctor!

From the title, I thought you were going hunting with just the knife!😉
Another succsessful hunt. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.🙏
i love your videos especially these of you deer hunting one day ill get back into the woods myself
Glad to see you still going strong
Good to see you sir! Thanks for the video.
Was just thinking of this channel yesterday. I used to watch it years ago and somehow lost it. So glad I found it again, and that you're still at it!
Hola friend, just wanted to make sure you are OK in the wake of the earth quakes and tsunamis that occurred in the past day.
Happy New Year.
Awesome, headed to Japan this week and was wondering about the hunting there.
Great to see ya posting. Just wrapping up deer season here in Oregon. Great review on the DBK knife. Happy Hunting.

Nice hunt Dr. Thanks for the information on the knife I will look into getting me one for my hunting pack.
DBK boys are no doubt happy with this review. I know I am! Great video.
Relaxes me to enjoy these videos
Great video, as always. Thank you!!
Martin is gonna be watching this with glee 😬.
Like your knife videos very much ..
Very educational ..
You have taught me a lot ..
Please keep making them ..
Thank you very much ..
Super well designed knife & super well-placed shot, as the deer didn't go 30 yards before it fell dead!!
Another great video Good Sir!💪😎👍
AWesome to see you Back Dr Wakku Nice Spike Very Tasty I Bet..
Yellow fat is long-term energy reserve storage fat. The lighter softer fat is the first to be burnt off in times of starvation.
The knife is razor sharp!
Hello from Germany - what Nagura Stone would you recommend for Shapton Pro 1000, 2000 and 5000 (if needed)? I just can't find the right ones.
I am going this week. Good to see you.
You’re the best virtuovice ive been watching you since I was only 10 or so years old it has been almost 15 years i believe

no one does it better. best knife man.
As always, epic videos :) pleasure to watch ❤
Wako-san do you know of FSK vitrified diamond sharpening stone?
Great to see you again
Great to see you testing knife. Would love to see you test Benchmade Saddle Mountain Skinner

Good to see you !!!

DBK life for the skin!👍
Thanks for sharing ! ❤
You should show us how to what were cutting and looking for and how to gut/skin,that would be nice
So good to see u. Thx for posting
Очень рад видеть!
Serious question.
Is he cleaning the deer this way to avoid gutting it?
Seems to be efficient.
Yes, I believe so.
Love it great video
what happened to the rest of the carcass? do you only take the tongue, backstraps and thigh meat only?
My thoughts exactly, what an enormous waste.

2nd time watching , thank you ! ❤
Why you don't use the thigh muscles?
Great video
What has he punctured? The gallbladder or the bladder? 🤔 Love this hunting videos by the way, keep them coming 😊
Have you ever considered MKC products? Those are made for you I believe
where do you put the waste?
That fat is probably be the best part...
Lamb, goat and cow fat yes. Venison fat not so much.
Wrong. On a deer it doesn’t taste good as well as it costs your mouth in a terrible waxy feeling it’s nothing close to how good beef fat is.
It's a hunting knife now!
Your English has improved

Great video, what camera do you use?
thank you
In these conditions, this area of Japan looks so tiny
what is that jacket? pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase

Hello knife people
out of interest what rifle and cailbre was that?
Love your videos, huge respect of your knife and steel knowledge, but I hate seeing so much meet being thrown away. Very wasteful way of life.
MAGNACUT VS ELMAX?
they'll piss themselves
