Great video, I needed a clean start to finish in setting up modes. It is easy to mess up things playing with too many setting in Magiclantern. Crop mood 5.2K 1x3 2:35:1 23.9 FPS 12-bit Crop mood 3K 1:1 Crop 2:35:1 23.9 FPS 12-bit (10-bit for green) Crop mood 1080p 3x3 (anamorphic lenses) 3:2 23.9 FPS 10-bit
Also if you want continuous in 14bit, use a technique called ETTL. It's a technique photographers use by exposing to the left in the histogram until the shadows are right next to the noise floor. I underexpose by 1-1.5 stops then i lift up the shadows in post. This maximises the 11 stops of dynamic range in the camera. If you export as cdng then you get the last stop in the shadows in the file which you can then clean up in post. That's as good as today's canon cameras
Let me get this right. - ETTL expose to the left of the histogram? (should I always use and trust the in-camera histogram or can I eyeball this also?) - than underexpose by 1-1.5 stop (by changing exposure compensation setting in camera)? -than in Davinci resolve raise exposure again and use noise-reduction? thx!!!!

For that I think you'll need a camera with good autofocus for both photo and videos. I recommend camera like canon m5, m6, or m50. And for sony I think zv-e10 is a good option for it's price.
If you want to monitor the audio level, then keep the kill global draw to OFF, it probably will affect the write speed but if you really need to monitor audio, that is the way to do it

Is the touchscreen function properly after install magiclantern??? Because I have the buttons up and right-side not working.
Having tried going down this road it looks like I've bricked my EOS M as it doesn't start now when I press the start button. All I get is a flashing green light and no start up. HELP.

I never tried it, but I think it should work, only you need to lower the bit depth to 10bit for better reliability. I really recommend to use Sandisk Extreme Pro at least 64GB, it is much reliable.
dear brother, I have a question, someone told me that during the firmware update your camera may dead if something goes wrong ... I really want to upgrade my EOS M to magic letern but only one thing is stopping me to do this is My camera may dead during the magic latern update. Does Magic Latern firmware causes your camera to be dead or any chances to recover our camera if it becomes dead ?
So far, I've done the instalation process so many times and so far i never encounter the problems that break my camera. But for precautions you should need to take a very good attention about the requirements to instal magic lantern on the EOS-M. Like make sure to use the right ML firmware and make sure that your EOS-M is running the 2.0.2 firmware version. Use a fully charged battery and use a good SD Card. Again ML is not an official firmware so it may cause problem for the camera, but so far in my experince of using it, my camera is still working fine.

Hi, thanks a lot for watching my video. Here's what I can tell: 1. For 128GB card it would probably last for about 25 minutes, I've tested for 1 min video the file size is about 5GB. 2. For the differences FullHD and 5.2K, there's definitely a difference especially in sharpness, also in moire and alliasing. For color grading I can't tell you that for sure, but I think the more pixel you get means more data, so between FHD 14bit and 5.2K 14bit there should be a difference, but to be honest I don't really noticed it (maybe it's because of my lack of experience, a pro colorist maybe could tell the difference) 3. To update the magic lantern, it is the same as installing a new one Hope that could help a little bit. 😁
Coba di bagian modules aktifkan Benchmark. Terus nnti di test kecepatan SD cardnya kalo bisa capai sekita 86MB/s hrsnya gk ada masalah sih. Tp kalau speednya cmn 20-an MB/s. Blh coba di otak-atik lg di bagian overclocking nya. Kalau masih bermasalah mngkn SD cardnya bisa cb test dgn SD card yg lain brother.
Holyshit dude 85mb/s write speed?! That's insane. 200mb/s 128gb version caps out at 75mb/s write. If I'd get that 85mb/s write speed i'd be able to shoot 14bit continuously. Now I'm pretty sure the Digic 5 image processor is capable of those speeds.

La velocidad de escritura es la que necesitamos, y esas Sandisk escriben a velocidad de máximo 45MB/s y no servirían para 5K porque el 5K requiere arriba de 60MB/s de escritura. En cambio la Lexar es V60 y esa es bastante perfecta, porque su velocidad de escritura es de 170MB/s, lo que es más del doble de lo que necesita Magic Lantern. 😅
Yeah it's true. But from what I read between 95mb and 170mb/s version the writing speed is the same. And if you overclock the 95mb/s version it can go up to 86Mb/s. I've already explain it in this video and as you can see in this video I have no problem using it with 5.2K resolution and other resolution using the sandisk 95m/s version.
this camera is a little bit hard to find in other country, such as mine in Indonesia. the easiest and cheapest way to get access to RAW video is this camera with crop mood is much reliable ML build.

For short clip this might work, but for me the workflow would be a hassle, I think R6 is a much better camera for this kind of job.

this mod will only benefit the video side. So if your main focus is photo I don’t think you need it.

Yes touchscreen still work with magic lantern. But it will not compatible when you enter the magic lantern menu.
Will installing magic lantern on Eos m give me the ability to record longer than the stock thirty minute limit
unfortunately, no. It won't eliminate the record limit, but there is a function that auto restart the recording.

Try to use other camera and format the memory card, it happens to me also. If it still not working try full format the memory card with Sony camera.

Just output for monitoring, ML doesn't enable raw capabilities for external recording

For the majority the feature with this firmware only affect the video mode, but for photo mode you still can use the Kelvin custom white balance

at first it only goes about 70, as I already explain in this video, I changed the default setting for overclocking and it goes about 85-86 in my case.
what is crop mood? do you need it?
If you want the best video quality from your older canon camera such as EOS-M, you definitely need it.
my screen is getting so dark when adjusting iso. its total black already lower than 800
