Glad the Superbowl had that come from behind and then get double digit lead in those 6 minutes in the 4th quarter with time to spare. It needed to be that way. It wasn't a blowout, the 49ers were the toughest team.
Finally, a voice of reason! This thread is full of irrational homers, fueled by the hype of sports media. The young man is special, but lets not get ahead of ourselves..
The only thing opponents can hope for, is that his upcoming max contract eats up the chiefs cap so they can't keep Tyreek, Kelce, Watkins, and Mecole past this season.
People think of arm talent as "upside" for a QB and Mahomes certainly has that in spades. However, that's not why he's the best QB. It's because he has the best field vision in the league. He's aware of where everyone is, both offense and defense, on almost every single play and processes the play at roughly the same speed as Brady and Brees. It's unheard of for a QB this young to have such mastery over the field. It took both Brady and Brees at least 5 years to get to the level Mahomes is currently at in terms of processing and field vision.
The only way to beat the new Upcoming GOAT🐐 is to not play him. The only way you’re gonna stop him is if you don’t give him a half competent O line or he just doesn’t walk on the field. He is a phenom of the highest order and what makes it even sweeter is he is humble and shares the glory. He doesn’t have an ego the size of his talent. Impressive role model to say the least. It is exactly what the NFL needs these days.
Sure, and Chiefs fans claim their OL was ‘3rd string’, as well as connoting that they would’ve won with Fisher and Schwartz, who were hardly akin to Orlando Pace and Anthony Munoz in their primes! Those two passes that bounced off his receivers were no better than the two boneheaded INTs (like last year’s SB) he threw into coverage; it was lucky that they ‘looked’ brilliant. He absolutely got his ass kicked in this game by a top defense. He’s still the best QB in the game, but ‘unstoppable’ my ass!! Anyone notice how he doesn’t have good looking genetics? The raw talent is unique, and the results are there, but when he runs around he looks weird, he seems overweight, his stance doesn’t look athletic. This may seem moot now, but when he’s in his thirties he’ll probably be no Aaron Rodgers, let alone Brady.
@@jamesmackinnon7727 Mahomes is amazing, no doubt about it. I just think Reid's system & the Chiefs playmakers make him look even better than he is. If anything, Josh Allen looks even more gifted than Mahomes. Justin Herbert also looks like a freak of nature. I don't think those guys would be any less successful if they were in Mahomes' spot.
While I’m a Chiefs fan, and absolutely LOVED this “nail-in-the-coffin” play, it wasn’t so much Mahomes’ read of the coverage but blown coverage by the secondary because the defender on Watkins got his feet tangled up and fell. Mahomes’ just took advantage of the mistake and put the Chiefs three scores up.
Nathan Cochrane That's one of the reasons why Mahomes is unstoppable--he's capable of capitalizing on any mistake he sees the defense make. And since his eyes are always downfield even when he's got pressure in his face, and can put a ball anywhere at a moment's notice, he's going to continually feed on a defense's miscues and flubs.
You can’t make the claim that Mahomes is the “New GOAT”. The acronym GOAT stands Greatest Of All Time. Mahomes is a great talent, but he’s been a QB for three seasons. Let’s have this conversation after he’s won 5 more Super Bowls, 8 league MVP’s and stays heathy. Until then, settle down there Skippy.
You can talk until you're blue in the face about Kittle, but I would NOT choose him over Kelce. I have watched the man bulldoze defenses for years, and given the chemistry he has with Pat, he is the best TE we could have. And I am old enough to have lived through Tony G.'s career and was a KC fan before him. I still love me some Tony G., he is the TE GOAT, don't @me.
Bookaholic23 Kittle is better for the 9ers scheme and Kelce is better for the chiefs scheme. I’d say in a lot of ways they almost play a different position. Kittle helps the run and helps on the pass when he is called upon and Kelce helps the pass and run blocks when he needs to
The goat not just yet he has weapons on his side that also makes him look really good but give it another 2,3,4 or five years and when I say years I mean superbowl championship wins then it is possible but to soon to really know or call him the GOAT regardless if we like it or not the true GOAT no matter how much records or passing yards you put up at the end of the day it comes down to champion ship wins
When he passes most wins in 7 years(Wilson) & 8 years (Wilson & Brady) Then he will have shown the consistency and Iron man resolve. (Wilson, never a missed start)
That explains why the SB was rigged. Mahomes production through the first 3 and a half quarters was mundane, to say the least. And then, through the actions (or lack thereof) of the officials, the entire momentum of the game shifted into KC's favor.. The first hint that the fix was on was the fact that there wasn't a single offensive holding call through the ENTIRE game, despite there being multiple that altered the outcome of drives. Here you had a team with the most deadly pass-rush the league has seen in quite some time, and the officials collectively made a pre-game decision to entirely ignore offensive holding throughout the game?! Second was the inconsistent rulings of pass-interference between the two teams. I know it seems like a lazy excuse, but anyone capable of watching that game from an objective perspective has picked up on the bias in the officiating; especially through the final 10 minutes or so..
The only way is to keep Mahomes on the sideline. You have to grind down the field, use as much time as possible and deny KC as many possessions as you can. This means going for it on fourth down if you're in Chiefs territory. It probably pays better than punting and letting Patrick run his offense. It's easy to say, the doing is a hell of a lot harder. you could do like the Rams did and just outscore them, but they got 21 points off of KC turnovers, and you can't count on that happening. It is truly a defensive nightmare.
I just see false movement by Mahomes that made things harder than they had to be. The Chiefs have a very good oline and they had the numbers advantage with 5 blockers vs. 3 rushers. He couldve just stood in the pocket and waited for Watkins to come free.
What makes you say that? Even with a loss to the niners Mahomes is primed to take on the NFL for the next 10+ years (barring injury), this isnt a flash in the pan like other young QBs. When you can read defenses as well as him and have a lazer youre going to be good for a really long time.
People don't seem to understand what "GOAT" means and that it stands for Greatest Of ALL TIME." Not just "Greatest Right Now." As of this moment Mahomes is the best active QB on the planet, He has a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go before he's even actually in the GOAT conversation.
So...in the future, when he losses games....and as for good as he is, he's going to lose games, will the outlook always be "The defensive let him down" excuse, or will he actually get blamed when the situation calls for it?
ItzAn Opinion ok then, let’s look at his losses so far. 2018: Patriots: he scored 40 points against the patriots. It was the defense allowing 43 points that caused him to lose Rams: he became the first quarterback to ever score 50 points and still lose. Definitely not his fault Chargers: the defense gave up 15 points in the last 4 minutes and the chiefs lost by 1 points Seahawks: he didn’t play badly the chiefs just got outplayed by the Seahawks Patriots: partly his fault because of the fact that he didn’t do well in the first half but he still could’ve won if the defense had been able to stop the patriots in their last few drives or if dee ford hadn’t lined up offsides. 2019: Colts: he didn’t play amazingly but the rest of the team did terrible. Texans: same thing. He didn’t play amazingly but the defense gave up 20 points in one quarter and the rest of the offense couldn’t get it done in the second half Titans: he played amazingly but the whole team choked at the end
Pits, GB and SF showed how to beat them in the preseason ( oops those games don’t count). Season : Ind, Hou, GB and Tenn Showed how to beat them. They are not untouchable. Mahomes is nice but let him work. Let the team work because my boys are definitely gonna make them work for it! Faithful til the death. Respect to the Chief’s they deserve to be in the bowl! History will be made... the best SB ever
kodeRedd 85, oh please, the Chiefs gave up that Tennessee game, he didn’t even play in the GB, and Minnesota games. He was healthy in Indy, and Houston games. Well the Chiefs are SB champs.
The thumbnail says he's the new "GOAT" but I don't see that anywhere on this page. That's good because GOAT is All Time. He's good, maybe even great, but he's not put in the time yet. Add to that the fact that (and I don't wish this on anyone) he could have his career shortened by any number of health, legal, or other issues, it's a little too early for that moniker .
If he stays healthy, he will be. He's only played two seasons. TWO. And he's already broken or matched over a dozen NFL QB records. At the rate he's going, in 8-9 years he'll own both the yards passing and the passing TD records. And along the way, he'll smash dozens more QB records. It's going to be great to watch. Like watching MJ23 during his career.
Playing for KK, or all those other things you mentioned were not the reasons he wasn't drafted high, it was Billy Joe Tolliver was our best NFL player at QB and we're not a helmet school. BTW, plays like these at Tech were used to show why Mahomes was a risk for the NFL; it is all what you want to show. I don't know much about the details of football, but I've watched enough to know after the bowl game with LSU, that Mahomes would be a good NFL QB. The Chiefs just need to do what KK would never do and keep a solid D on the other side of the ball.
The problem with this is Mahomes will excel without a good defense opposite him - He won the MVP with the 29th ranked defense last year. The reason these plays are seen as a risk in college is because its much easier to do them in college - space is greater and windows and timing is much more lax - plenty of qbs have pulled of whacky plays at the college level but very few (such as mahomes) have been able to pull this off at the NFL level. Teams really arent concerned with what school you play for anymore, its not the 90s, footage on every school is readily avaliable to all scouts - he dropped to 10 because he had no footwork (something it turned out he apparently doesnt need) and he tried to hero ball too much - all the rest of the talent was there to see.
@@ThinkingFootball Teams are concerned with what school a player played for, as does the Heisman. Publicity is HUGE in getting drafted. The school you play for greatly determines the publicity you get. Check out the 2015 Texas Bowl, where Mahomes was running for his life all game and yet kept us in it for 3 qtrs, and we had a horrible D that year and LSU had Fornette. This isn't the first good D he faced & it won't be the last. Yet, he will still be a top QB until age catches up with him.
He’s not that fast but you gotta respect his arm until he fully passes the line of scrimmage. If not, he can throw off any platform like a short stop. Weather he rolls right or left you still need to guard the opposite side of the field because he can actually throw across the field with accuracy. The time of the statue quarterback is over. What’s even scarier bout Mahomes is he can still dice you up in the pocket too.
The new "G.O.A.T."?! That term is so friggen over-used anymore.. Do you know what that term means? The (G)reatest (O)f (A)ll (T)ime! We've had Terry Bradshaw (4× SB champ), Joe Montana (4× SB champ), Troy Aikman (3× SB champ), Tom Brady (6× SB champ) Brett Favre, John Elway, Dan Marino; Johnny Unitas, who revolutionized the way the QB position - and quite frankly the entire game of football - would be played forever.... The list goes on and on with names of QBs who have accomplished some of the greatest feats in pro football history, and yet we're having discussion about whether or not this 3rd-year QB is the "GREATEST" of all-time?! I'm not saying that Patrick Mahomes isn't a special player/athlete, but it's WAAAYY to soon to be having this discussion.
@@ThinkingFootball players also have games where it's a mind blowing games, great games, average games, sub par, and lastly horrible games where nothing goes right for them. Literally, Any Given Sunday.
He doesnt do that "step back" pass off his back foot just for fun. Its usually bcuz some Olineman is getting blown up and hes in Pat's face immediately lmao. Thats why he got his ankle stepped on by his own lineman like twice last year. So he started to not trust them. They better get some Olinemen in the draft bcuz while he CAN work with shitty blockers, its not ideal
The best way to beat the Chiefs is the way the Colts did it this year. Pound the rock, take over the game clock, and try to get to Mahomes and hurt him so he's off his game. You won't win that way very often but it's the only way to do it right now. Heck the Patriots did all that and STILL got taken to OT.
That only worked for the Colts because Hill and Watkins were out, Fisher was out and our LG got hurt during the game. Clark, Jones and Xavier Williams all got hurt in that game, and Shady sprained his ankle during the game as well. Never mind Mahomes getting his ankle stepped on early in the game that took away both his mobility and his ability to step into a throw. Once everyone got healthy and spent a few games playing together, that gameplan no longer worked.
So here’s a question for all the Mahomes haters.....how many of the other 31 NFL owners would send their current QB’s packin in a heartbeat if they could have PM as their franchise QB.....answer......EVERY ONE BUT 1 or 2 at most of the leagues usual idiot owners😂😂😂😂😂 (Like Skips Cowboys owner Jones since Skippy said Dak had a better year than PM did in 2019)😝
Connor Berglund so what Skippy saiid is that A healthy Dak had a better year than Mahomes when PM was injured the first week, reinsured the ankle numerous times, dislocated his kneecap and missed 3 games, finally got healthy late in the season, and ended up 8-8 an missed the playoffs....OK

Glad the Superbowl had that come from behind and then get double digit lead in those 6 minutes in the 4th quarter with time to spare. It needed to be that way. It wasn't a blowout, the 49ers were the toughest team.
Awesome breakdown
Appreciate it!
A tad early to be crowning him as anything. He’s gotta stay healthy, he’s still gotta have some talent around him.
He is unbeatable🤣🤣 the man is a stud
His 9 losses as a starter suggests otherwise.. He's good, but NOBODY is unbeatable..
How you talking about Super Bowl win. When video was posted Jan. 25??
Because we can read the future.
He's not a "G.O.A.T" yet, but he is without a doubt the best player in the NFL.
Mahomes is unstoppable.
The Super Bowl determined that was a lie.
It wont last forever. Once he gets paid they wont be able to keep this level of talent around him
While I’m a Chiefs fan, and absolutely LOVED this “nail-in-the-coffin” play, it wasn’t so much Mahomes’ read of the coverage but blown coverage by the secondary because the defender on Watkins got his feet tangled up and fell.
In 5-10 years he'll be a top 10 QB of all time
How to beat Mahomes? Get Brady and Gronk :)
Lets go KC!
thats what you call a football crossover
You can’t make the claim that Mahomes is the “New GOAT”. The acronym GOAT stands Greatest Of All Time. Mahomes is a great talent, but he’s been a QB for three seasons. Let’s have this conversation after he’s won 5 more Super Bowls, 8 league MVP’s and stays heathy. Until then, settle down there Skippy.
Amen to that! The term "G.O.A.T." is so over-used in today's culture that it has lost its meaning..
Fun fact:
The CHIEFS are Super Bowl CHAMPIONS!!!
Fun fact a 43 year QB took the Super Bowl from them haha
Jameson Berrios more like at least 10 years.
Andy Reid is the king at step back QB #ABQ4
Donavan McNabb
Bret farve
Kevin kolb
Nick Foles
Micheal Vick
Doug Peterson
Etc!
If I forgot more add 😇
The metaphors at the end killed me. 8th grader dissecting a frog. Mustache wizard.
Nobody in nfl history was able too do what Mahomes can do he’s the GOAT
Not yet, it's still Brady, but he's getting there
When he passes most wins in 7 years(Wilson) & 8 years (Wilson & Brady) Then he will have shown the consistency and Iron man resolve. (Wilson, never a missed start)
Wow! Mahomes has GOAT talent, that’s for sure.
The Goat of Refs help
Think.. Rage Against the Machine, "No matter how hard you try, you cant stop us now"...😍👍
good analysis tho. thumbs up
he is the choosen next great NFL qb number 15=5+1=6, superbowl 54=5+4=9=6, super bowl 02/02/20=6= 666
Get back to me when he's won 5 Super Bowls then he might be in contention
So four more years? Got it.
How to beat Mahomes: SCORE ON EVERY PLAY. AND DON'T CHOKE A PLAY
GO MAHOMES!!! GO CHIEFS!!!
This is gonna age well
What makes you say that? Even with a loss to the niners Mahomes is primed to take on the NFL for the next 10+ years (barring injury), this isnt a flash in the pan like other young QBs. When you can read defenses as well as him and have a lazer youre going to be good for a really long time.
@@HamiBud LOVE IT
Thinking Football, and the Chiefs beat the Niners. I figured they would anyway. Chiefs have Mahomes. Niners have Jimmy G.
This video did not hold up after super bowl 55
Yes it did, actually 😂
People don't seem to understand what "GOAT" means and that it stands for Greatest Of ALL TIME." Not just "Greatest Right Now."
As of this moment Mahomes is the best active QB on the planet, He has a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go before he's even actually in the GOAT conversation.
hagamapama I agree with u as a Pats fan.
So...in the future, when he losses games....and as for good as he is, he's going to lose games, will the outlook always be "The defensive let him down" excuse, or will he actually get blamed when the situation calls for it?
ItzAn Opinion if he plays badly, we’ll tell the truth
ItzAn Opinion ok then, let’s look at his losses so far.
2018:
Patriots: he scored 40 points against the patriots. It was the defense allowing 43 points that caused him to lose
Rams: he became the first quarterback to ever score 50 points and still lose. Definitely not his fault
Chargers: the defense gave up 15 points in the last 4 minutes and the chiefs lost by 1 points
Seahawks: he didn’t play badly the chiefs just got outplayed by the Seahawks
Patriots: partly his fault because of the fact that he didn’t do well in the first half but he still could’ve won if the defense had been able to stop the patriots in their last few drives or if dee ford hadn’t lined up offsides.
2019:
Colts: he didn’t play amazingly but the rest of the team did terrible.
Texans: same thing. He didn’t play amazingly but the defense gave up 20 points in one quarter and the rest of the offense couldn’t get it done in the second half
Titans: he played amazingly but the whole team choked at the end
Black Knight, right! That’s exactly right.
Yo keep it up this my first time watching a video by u but u got a sub outta me. Pretty soon it'll be laughable to think u once had 267 subscribers. 👍
Thank you, we appreicate the kind words
Pits, GB and SF showed how to beat them in the preseason ( oops those games don’t count). Season : Ind, Hou, GB and Tenn
Showed how to beat them.
Derek Mathews 2 months too late to debate about it. PM was a great QB this past season. Looking forward to him having a bright future.
You don't beat em. #GOCHIEFS!
Every year the opposing divisions you play change. With such a short sampling size, while he is good, the new goat? In a word, horsesh.it
If he stays healthy, he will be.
It’s a generational thing Cunningham in the 90s mike Vick in the 00s and him in the 10s
Love Mahommes film Hes fucking great
Playing for KK, or all those other things you mentioned were not the reasons he wasn't drafted high, it was Billy Joe Tolliver was our best NFL player at QB and we're not a helmet school.
Wreck Em Texas Tech.
Who’s here before Eagles beat the chiefs in SB 2023
I love your coverage on the situation but it's always, Amy Given Sunday.
Agreed, the NFL landscape changes so suddenly
I didn't know eric andre was in the NFL let alone played football
THAT'S MY QUARTERBACK
this is correct
49ers did a hell of a job stopping him for 52 minutes. Problem is the Super Bowl lasts 60
You can put up 40 points on Mahomes he found away to come back and get you. He the new generation of MJ
So here’s a question for all the Mahomes haters.....how many of the other 31 NFL owners would send their current QB’s packin in a heartbeat if they could have PM as their franchise QB.....answer......EVERY ONE BUT 1 or 2 at most of the leagues usual idiot owners😂😂😂😂😂 (Like Skips Cowboys owner Jones since Skippy said Dak had a better year than PM did in 2019)😝
Oregon Chief Chris I mean statistically he did have a better season but statistics ignore many factors
Wait, there's people out there who hates Mahomes? How!?
Sean S. I like Mahomes, but I agree. Statistics hide a lot of that
Mahomes is good. As this video proclaims....how many times did they compare something Mahomes did to something Wilson has done every year for 8 years?
Connor Berglund so what Skippy saiid is that A healthy Dak had a better year than Mahomes when PM was injured the first week, reinsured the ankle numerous times, dislocated his kneecap and missed 3 games, finally got healthy late in the season, and ended up 8-8 an missed the playoffs....OK
The only way to beat him is to keep him on the sidelines. That wasn't so hard last year and at the beginning of this one but now...? KC got D!
There's only one goat. there's only one sweetness. there's only one deacon.
Hes still new, defenses will start figuring him out and expose him.
Where’s the weakness to expose?
@@ThinkingFootball you think he has no flaws? You think hes a god amongst men? No ones perfect.
@@ggnore6061 What are his flaws?
@@ThinkingFootball do you think hes perfect?
Not at all, no QB is perfect. But you need to have a ‘weakness’ to expose someone, so what’s his weakness?
How do you stop Mahomes? Ask your agent to get you traded to KC. :-D
